Karrie my dear, WELCOME!Posted Image  So I know that you are a Garrus fan, and if you haven't already seen my entirely obnoxious sales pitch for Garrus+F!Shepard screenshots (and other characters as well...), let me beg and plead a bit more.....PLEASE, if you have any shots to share, I would be eternally grateful.  Posted Image

Wow, thanks! :D

I literally have tons of screenshots of Garrus and FemShep. Looking for anything in particular?

*tackle/glomp!*  Sorry, I know you don't know me, but I am just too happy....*does happy dance*.

Ok, so I am looking for 3-4 shots that have Garrus and fem!Shep interacting (so this doesn't have to be only romance related pics, though you are more than welcome to submit just the romance images.). You are welcome to email them to me, or just provide a link that where I can snag a copy.Posted Image

:lol: I wasn't expecting such a warm welcome, I have to say it's very nice.

Action images ok, or just them talking or gazing into each other's eyes?
I'll try and get you screenshots *without* French subtitles. I'm on it.

I love seeing new faces in the thread! I have "lurked" in the Garrus thread for quite a while, but I admit, I have never romanced him.  He's my squishy "jimminy" to my Shepards....Posted ImagePosted Image   (ok granted....his structure isn't exactly "squishy", so that is meant more metaphorically....*wink*).

As for the subtitles, no worries.  If you have some without, fantastic, but don't fret too much about it.  Action is always good, but if you want to throw in one romance related pic, that would be great too. Posted Image

LOL Welcome Karrie! Coldi is obviously feeling better. :)

I'm loving your signature, I don't get most of the first part, but "Krogans" and "you know you're in the ****" (or something like that) sounds pretty ominous. LOL

If you find you need more screen shots, I'll open ME3, but only if you really need them. ;)

Ha, I understand.:lol: I have pretty much the same feelings towards some LIs, I don't blame you!

Subtitles not a problem? Oh boy. You're going to have a lot more than four screenshots I'm afraid. :mellow: I'll try and select the ones I like the most.

LOL yeah! Basically that's Garrus (how surprising) saying "When the Krogans give a name to a thresher maw, you know you're screwed.". Which is a feeling we indeed express by saying we're deep in the sh*t.

Hi Karrie. Fancy seeing you here :)

@coldi: Unfortunately after the harddrive reformat I was an idiot and forgot to back up my FemShep's save files. I'm (slowly) replaying ME2 and nowhere near the Garrus romance content. I'll see if I can grab screenies from his recruitment mission.

@mnomaha - yup...I'm beginning to come outta my Nyquil induced fog. Still sound like a toad right now, but on the mend...YAY! Screenies from ME1 and ME2 are just fine, chica!

@Karrie - Did I mention lately how much you rock?? :D

@Seiffer - too right. ;)

@Sable - damn! Sorry to hear about your harddrive. That stinks. ME2 pics are more than welcome! As are ME1. *grin*

So now that I got a nice flow of Garrus pics coming in, if anyone else wants to jump on the bandwagon for Jacob, Jack, Samara, and Kelly, you would be have my undying gratitude! :)

And yes! Screenies from any of the series are welcome: ME, ME2 and me3.

Coldi, just make sure you miss on purpose if you get into a shooting contest with her :P

Three ME2 screenies incoming from me.  Sorry if they're a little sloppy--it's surprisingly hard to get Garrus and Shep in the same shot without having their romance scenes.  Usually the camera just pans from one completely to the other, or there's another squaddie in the way.

Huh...anybody feel like trolling? Apparently somebody kicks it in the latest DLC and people are moaning about it. And I'm sorry, but spoilers be damned, people are moaning about a character we didn't spend two games with (well 1 1/2) and who is not a LI dying, and yet we need to "get over it". Really?

Guess I really didn't put any spoilers in there...not really... :)

@Sable: I think anyone could beat me at a shooting contest even if they tried to fail on purpose.
@Roxy: Thanks! :D

I'm ridiculously sad about said character's death (WHY BIOWARE WHYYY), but yeah, I never got the "get over it" thing. Shepard never even mourned her lover and nobody even aknowledged his death. The writing for a romanced Thane was atrocious, and I fear I can't "get over" that.

People are complaining about Omega because 1) the way in which the character died was sloppily done and 2) why bother building up awesome new characters if you're just going to scrap them?

IMO it's more the principle of wasting a good character than anything else, sort of similar to how Thane, Jacob, and to a lesser extent Miranda were wasted in ME3.  Joss Whedon is notorious for killing off his characters, but at least he gives them time to breathe, grow, and contribute to the story before giving them meaningful deaths.

I am so ready for some puppies, gumdrop sweetness, rainbows....what am I missing....ah! Unicorns....But I am afraid we have come to the point where if those things listed above, are not tossed into a giant blender and "set" to puree, it just isn't good story telling. Totally overly dramatic, of course, but ya gets what I'm sellin'. *smirk* ;)

And yes, Joss Wedon does love killing him 'some characters'....but he gives them life first, and generally tries to honor the death (i.e. emotion from those characters that are remaining, acknowledgement, ect..)

I'm still pissed at him for how he wrote Cordelia out of Angel, right as they were about to get together and be happy  And, it took me a really long time to accept her and Angel rather than Buffy and Angel.

Not to mention he wrote out Doyle out of the show, just as things were about to get interesting with him.

Wtf, Joss?

Sorry to be the brunt of bad news, but the actor who played Doyle was a bit messed up in addiction. He died shortly after his character was off the show.

I have issues with Joss (especially when he "over-quirks" his characters and writing in an attempt to make them more likeable), but he gets that in order for a character's death to mean something, they have to have life first, and a good death.  Tragedy requires pathos, and we didn't get it from Thane's death or (arguably) the ending.

I am also sick of grimdark for the sake of grimdark.  I'm rewatching Legend of Korra right now, and it's proof that you can have a happy ending while still being mature and dramatic.

Andy Hallet also passed, but this was after the show was off the air. His was related to a congenital heart condition. I had a real soft spot for Lorne.

Ok, apparently I am writing obits now....yeesh. >.<

<Thane ridges>

**EDIT**

That is "congestive heart disease".....sorry.

Also, yes...I agree with you on about Joss, @Sable.

@Roxy - Thanks hon for the offer!  You are more than welcome to send me a link to the pic.  Thanks to Karrie, Sable, Thazesul, and now Roxy, I have a lovely selection of Garrus screenies.  Big sloppy kiss to you all!  Sorry.....drool....how embarrasing.Posted Image

So I guess now, I really am in the need for Jacob, Jack, Samara and Kelly pics (w/Shep, of course).  No worries, if you don't have any, but still figured I would toss the request out there.Posted Image

Yeah, I knew about Andy Hallett, and I too had a big soft spot for Lorne.

I didn't know about the guy playing Doyle, though, so I'll have to look that up...

Interesting thread discussing hopes for a DLC that gives some focus to the neglected ME2 characters. Drop by and share some thoughts about Thane, if any of you are so inclined. I didn't read through the whole thing but still saw some rather disappointing comments.

The posters who never did Thane's romance stick out like a sore thumb. They're usually the ones that go on about him being okay with dying  and his death being a fitting end. Nevermind that no one remembers him. Herp. Derp.

No one really takes romanced Thane into account in these sort of discussions and even when it's pointed out by romancers some people refuse to get it. It's just weird.

It's so very true, Julia.  What doesn't affect some, doesn't often deserve the attention of others (like devs who might add content for a certain green dreamboat Posted Image)....at least in some people's minds.  I have to admit, I rarely go to those threads anymore....repeating the same old arguement over and over, fills more like an act of contrition, and ends up being quite futile.  If they don't want to listen or empathize, they won't.....no matter what I or others will say.  So, instead I prefer to write here and on the blog.  People who might "consider" another outcome for Thane, might actually seek out this thread and the CL blog.  Them, I and others might have a chance of convincing.  Or at the very least give food for thought.  And chances are, even if they still are ok with what was given, they are sympathetic to our views on it.

We could just start bribing all the naysayers against a cure or life extention (or hell, decent in-character content)....maybe that would change their minds.Posted Image
