As for the folks who are ok with Thane's death and didn't romance him, I can kind of sympathize.  My FemShep and Thane had a cordial but professional relationship.  She never inspired him to live again in the same way a romanced FemShep does.  The Kai Leng scene is still stupid as all f***, but the death scene was actually rather fitting and touching.  

The problem is that if you did romance Thane, it's a pile of bull.

It also touches on another issue I had with the writing in ME2, which is that there's no way to "reawaken" Thane without romance.  Thane's desire to live is IMO a matter of empathy and emotional warmth, and that should be just as viable platonically as romantically, though probably with very different dialogue.  He's not the only one--the ME2 LIs who you don't romance (Miranda excepted) just don't have a real friendship path like the the non-romanceable squaddies.  What, I can't help my friends out unless I sleep with them?

If you need to convince anyone that Thane didnt want to die in ME2, I made this gif a while back if you need it. That being said, don't you hate it when people who havent even romanced Thane or bothered to youtube the scenes act like they know BETTER than the people who romanced him? hello... Thane fans are going to know him better than them by far. idiots.

Food for thought: Watching my husband playthrough COD/Halo/Killzone etc, I've found there is less major death in those games compared to ME3. I am not getting BW sudden fetish of killing everyone off. It loses impact if you keep doing it.

I'm going back Persona 4 Golden on Vita (scored the Gold Box Black Friday sale for Vita woot!). At least I can get a decent story out of it and doesn't make me feel stupid.

Hey all!
Played Omega yesterday. It was a bit of disappointment in many ways but, well, at least there was Aria... LOL. And those glitches were hilarious.

Now I don't know if I should get my hopes up regarding the new DLC (the one the whole team is working on). It seems to me that Omega was mostly created with male players in mind, so I wonder if they even try to appeal to female players anymore. <_< Even if they decide to give ME2 squaddies/LIs more screentime, what are the chances that Thane and Jacob will be included? What if they just decide to focus on Miranda's ass and Jack instead, since their romances are a lot easier to salvage? Someone please tell me they can't do that. Though I guess I shouldn't be surprised if they can...

I'm not getting my hopes up for any ME DLC from now on. It is good that all writers are working on this one, but Omega really dampered my enthusiasm.

Sorry, that's not a very optimistic statement. I know they can listen to the fans (see Extended Cut, whether people liked it or not, they did take our suggestions) so there's still a chance they'll listen to us. Let's just keep communicating to remind them we're not going anywhere and we're still unhappy about all this.

Realistically, I think the only recourse for Thane or Jacob is modding.  If they can cut two romances, fill the galaxy with space lesbians, and spectacularly bork what should've been a no-brainer of an ending, they can add to Miranda and Jack without fixing Thane or Jacob.  But I do love Miranda to bits, and I'd love to see more content for her.  A conflicted, I has one.

I'm sorry but you're most likely setting yourself up for massive disappointment if you hope the next DLC will in any way be fair to Thane/Jacob fans, let alone female gamers at all. Besides, that'd require editing the actual game a lot, can that even be done?

I'm done hoping for them, not letting them disappoint me again. If they bothered at all with the ME2 people they'd have said something by now.

Most likely they'll only fix Miranda and Jack in that case, since they're the most popular after the "main LIs" it seems.

Steve's picked up a pretty sizeable following, and there are persistent calls for Vega to be available for FemShep.  Vega flirts constantly with a friendly FemShep anyway--they seriously could've done one more conversation with him before Cronos Station to make it a legit romance.  It'd at least make nulling two of the ME2 LIs sting a bit less <_<
