Hey, hi Thane fans. I was reading the main post of this thread, noticing there isn't a link to some sort of... Thane picture collection, or something. I was wondering if there is one, and if you could indicate me where, so I can have decent pictures of him.

Nothing specific, just... pictures of him. In game, promotional, general screenshots or details... Anything.

So that's where that waterfall is. I guess that's a reason to DL Zaeed's mission.

There's a screenshot thread at NSAS, and another one of Fanart, I think.

Yes, there is a thread in the Neck Snap Appreciation group (you have to be a member though to look through the stuff) but it's just in a thread called screencaps.

Hi all.

In my opinion the Hanar are the problem. Don't know why nobody suspects them, but I do. The thing that does not go out of my head is the fact that they worship Enkindlers = Proteins = Collectors and they work for the Reapers.

Sorry about the english.

Thanks for posting that up, it does make a bit of sense that there might be a more sinister side to the Hanar. They do like a little like reapers lol. Your English is fine btw :) welcome to the group!

One thing that doesn't make sense is why delay curing the Drell, they have nothing to gain from delaying it and Harbringer shows no interest in anything but the human race.

I don't think it has much of a Reaper conotation but... considering that... the Hanar found the drell 800 years ago, and then 10 years after that, they took drell off their home world, leaving billions of others to die... well, why not help relocate them to some colonies as well?

The hanar may have had more selfish concerns than some might think.

They only took a few hundred thousand.  Maybe they WANTED a client/slave race to do all the things they couldn't.  The wikia states that the drell have been part of the galactic community for 200 years... so that's still 700 some odd years that these drell have been contracting Kepral's syndrome.  Why are they just starting NOW on trying to come up with a cure?  Did they not care until now?

No one but the Normandy 2's crew (and TIM) knows that the Collectors were Protheans way back when, so again, that's a non-issue really.

But I think this whole "But the hanar are so nice!" is really disgusing some really disturbing society trends.  I wonder if this is how they get away with it.  I mean, the Quarians got nailed for having the geth as "slaves", and the batarians are still catching flack from Cidatel space about it.  The drell may not think they're slaves, since they have this illusion of choice... but when you start looking at some of the details... it just comes out sketchy, to me at least.

Maybe they made somekind of deal with the reapers. Maybe they don't want old Drell. Or is this their "Genophage" for keeping the balance.

I dont know. Posted Image

We will find out in ME3 I am sure.

Yes. I think they are fishy. There is something wrong here. I am not yet sure what.

They make too big a deal of his impending death, I wouldn't think he'll be in ME3.

In fact, I would think most of the squad from ME2 won't be, since that would be a tonne of voice acting to pay for when only a couple of those characters may be in game. I could be completely wrong, but financially it doesn't make sense to waste huge amounts of resources on "maybes".

Well, they're not redoing the animations or the GUI, so why not pay for the VAs?

I don't peticularly like thane, he is too subtle, I perfer assault weapons and high explosives.  I admire his expertise but for all his skill he is basically a very quick and dextarious coward.  When I go in I expect to level a building, kill everything that moves and get put on at least one government's most wanted list.

That said, I think he will be back for however brief a time.  While I think he will make an apperance in the game I think he will ilkely be either benched or killed before half way through.  I could always be wrong but given his physical build and characteristics I don't think he will play a major part in the forthcoming galactic war.  Again, that said, there will also probably be a short subplot to make sure a stupid disease doesn't kill him off probably involving Dr. salarian(who's name escapes me:alien:...).

The codex and information about when the Hanar contacted the Drell varies so broadly, Thane claims the Hanar saved them only a century ago, which would make more logical sense that the Hanar have only recently funded a genetic engineering program to adapt them.
I've read that the Hanar discovered them 800 and 200 years ago, so until a dev can answer and confirm the correct time I'm going to believe Thane gives the right dates over the codex, which has been known to give errors.

Certainly I think the Hanar are being selfish in keeping the Drell as a client race, maybe teaching them from a young age that it's an honour to serve the Hanar rather than make their own way in life. Even so, I know that it's not unheard of for Drell to leave and travel the universe, settling in different colonies.
I find the Hanar to be an interesting species but like you I'm slightly suspicious of them, there is so little know about them.

I guess there aren't enough left of the Drell to sustain a viable population in more than one city, giving another reason why the Hanar haven't set them up on a colony. Better to be able to treat them on their home world where the Hanar have the best resources.

Well, just because they encountered them, doesn't mean they saved them right away.

Wonder what the hanar will do when they find out the Protheans are the Collectors.

Not to add to the paranoia here, but... notice the slight resemblance?  *gasp!*

Haha, actually, I don't know if I believe that the Hanar are evil.  Maybe their politeness is fooling me.  They look kinda cuddly, too.  (If they aren't slimy!)  I still really want to like them.

I'd totally make some calamari with the Firestorm if it turned out they are keeping the cure from the Drell, though.

Time to stop lurking >.>

Definitely want Thane to live.

On a side note: The Drell were rescued almost 800 years ago (according to the codex). They joined galactic society (ie, became part of citadel space...probably with the hanar) 200 years ago...(according to the website's drell description). These are two seperate events. I don't remember Thane saying they were rescued a century ago, not saying he didn't, I just don't remember. But the other two things make sense together.

I love the Hanar! They're pink and squishy and speak funny!

*huggles a Hanar and then gets stung*

But they do need to hurry up and alter those antibacterials! :?
