I honestly don't give a rat's arse. If they want my money, they should invest in Christ L'Etoile.

The EC was at least well-written (even if I still think the Catalyst should go die in a hole) and that was Dombrow and Weekes, part of the writing team for the next DLC.

It's unlikely there'll be anything for Thane or the other ME2 LIs, though.  We'll see.  If this DLC somehow miraculously overhauls the last third of the game to be something other than excruciating, I might actually buy it.

I just realized some awful decision Bioware made.

Not only they didn't planned ahead, but also didn't call back writers that did previous game and just hired new ones.

So yeah, this 2 decisions are responsible for many retcons, plotholes and character assassinations.

So many dumb people around...

"ME3 is a better game because Thane dies" What the hell is wrong with them?

If there is a well loved, awesome character - he must die. And it''s not only in Mass Effect, many games and movies kill the best character, and this is cliche. How good would it be, to release from that pattern and for a change, let an awesome character live... Mordin dies, Legion dies, Thane dies. It's stupid, forced and unnatural, that the best characters must die. It means that story is lacking, because a good writing makes you care even if character you didn't cared for earlier dies.

And the best stories make you feel sad when dies the "bad guy"...
Oh wow, I just found one good side of ME3 - I was really sorry for The Illusive Man. Even after all the horrible things he has done.

And Thane's death only filled me with disgust and wasn't emotional at all. I would cry like a child If he could survive. That would make far better and more emotionally involving story than what we got. I wish more people could see it. And a magical cure...yeah, it's rather a magical disease that is the only thing that can't be fixed in the whole Mass Effect Universe with crucible, star child, Tali adapting to Shepard, turian kisses (really? these teeth?), Shepard being alive after being "meat and tubes" and many more...

<takes deep breath>

You know the only hope I have lies in what Patrick Weeks said. Yeah, that about forgetting Thane was a LI. Because he seems to be the only person at BioWare who admitted that something was at least wrong with that.

Any time I see "space magic" and "Thane" in the same sentence, I pretty much tune out whatever I was reading.  ME1 was  well written enough where it just seemed like advanced technology (the beacons, the Conduit, Cipher, etc.) rather than a writing cop-out.  That started to change by ME2, and the sci-fi's pretty thin by the time we get to the Crucible.  I can break all the rules of biology in Synthesis but I can't fix one drell's lungs?  Bah.

Mordin's death I thought was fitting, same with Legion.  Neither of them are LIs and killing them off doesn't invalidate any player choices of LI earlier on in the series.  It's a war game by ME3, people are going to die, it's just a matter of who the developers kill off.  At least they got cool deaths and good story arcs <_<

Actually Legion's and Mordin's death didn't bother me at all, but I was trying to show them as examples. In fact, I'm the one who thinks there should be more deaths, avoidable only by choice to sacrifice someone other. But what my point is... most people tend to think that the only good conclusion to a hero's story is his death, and necessarily involving sacrificing them to save someone other. It repeats too many times. I think Shepard can be counted into that too. At least in some cases.

Edit: Fixed some mistakes, at least those that I'm aware of

Well, Legion's death I do have issue.

It just comes out of nowhere and seems tacked on.

Freakin hell, where's the FemShep version?

It has The Illustrious Leader & The Human-Krogan along with Aralakh's Commander

we don't need femshep. We have K.R.O.G.A.N.S.

On Tutchanka our infant females wield the Wraith. When of age, we hand them the Claymore and if they can't dual wield the Weapon properly: We feed them to the Thresher Maws

I agree.

Imo, I found the whole "Geth will develop on their own." in ME2 vs. "We need Reaper-code for sentience, so now this platform will terminate in order to upload it" in ME3 to be contradicting and contrived.

Then again Ashley, Thane, Legion*...three characters that were...off...(to put it mildly) in ME3, were previously written by L'Etoile....so *sigh* (Yep. I'm still mourning his departure from ME)

*/ Some dialogue for Legion was written by Luke Kristjanson too.

(OT: Oh, and thanks to everyone who sent "Get Well" wishes, recovery has gone ok. Few more days, and I'm off the antibiotics. Yay)

*Dashes off to finish some schoolwork with my name on it.*

[Edit]
Because switching between Swedish and English can impact my spelling/grammar. :pinched:

I'm of two minds on the Reaper code thing.  On one hand, it bothers me that Legion described the geth as "alive" with the Reaper code.  IMO the geth were alive and sentient back in ME2.  It's analogous to the Synthesis situation, an implication that synthetics aren't truly "alive" without external intervention, and that really gets under my skin.

On the other hand, it IS consistent with the previous AI lore--EDI was an insane VI until she got bits of Sovereign.  For individual programs to be sentient, they seem to need a power boost that only exists in Reaper tech.  And uploading the Reaper code gives the geth a fighting chance if the quarians turn hostile again.  As a PLAYER it seems illogical, but LEGION has no way of knowing if Shepard will side with quarians, geth, or try to broker peace.

Then again, Legion is one of my favorite characters ever, and Reaper thing aside, I think its story arc was brilliantly done in ME3.  I'm pretty biased :)

Gah... I'm trying to write a post ME3 fic, AU with Thane alive (I never really finish my ME fics but maybe this time)... It's difficult. All things worth keeping are. Every time there is a pause I just keep thinking "why do I bother? He's still dead in the game and they'll never fix it..." :pinched: Reading ignorant comments about how Thane's character was handled well in ME3 doesn't really help at all.

Anyways, do you guys have any songs you associate with Thane / Thane & femShep? =) I could really do with some inspiring music. And I've always been curious of what songs remind others about Thane.

@Dragonslayer - Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise", and Green Day "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" *giggle*
I actually DO think of Thane with both of these songs (seriously, the Coolio song works....if you through out a few tidbits XD). The Green Day song totally works really well for Thane in the 10 years of battlesleep.

But a better song for your purpose.....hmmmm...Bonnie Tyler, "Holding Out for a Hero". :D :D

BTW....there are new screenshots up on the Cosmic Love blog, courtesy of Karrie788. And next week, we have some Jacob love a-coming, thanks to Emeraldfern! :)

**EDIT**

@Dragonslayer (again...hehe) - Posted Image  I totally forgot another song I have used in concert with a Thane + f!Shep pairing:
The Pogues, "I Love You Till the End"  It's bloody brilliant for Shrios!!!Posted Image

linky for song.

@coldi Ooh thanks, I will listen to those songs right away! ^_^ Omg and I have always associated Thane with "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", too! :D Though I might prefer Gregorian's version for Thane haha. Another song that I think fits Thane perfectly is "Angels on the Moon" by Thriving Ivory. The line "don't tell me if I'm dying" got a whole new meaning to me after I experienced Thane's (ME2) romance.

//edit. Listened to the songs, and they do fit Thane. I liked especially Gangsta's Paradise. Goes well with younger Thane, I think. And now that I'm inspired again... *sneaks back to write*

@Dragonslayer - Thanks for the Thriving Ivory suggestion. Just listened to it on YT; the chorus seems eerily appropriate. ;)

Definately take a listen to the Pogues' song; it really is great for the "pairing".....okay, it is to ME, at least....lol.

@Dragonslayer - I like Florence and the Machine's "Heavy in your Arms", and "What the Water Gave Me" for Thane and Shep. For Thane I like "I'm Alive", by Shine down and "Comeback" by Red Light King.
