*sigh* It's a bit boring tbh. I'm gonna start a clean Sheploo playthrough. It's the only way I'm going to get through this game.
Agreed.
It seems if you want to feel fulfilled and the game to be complete you have to play male shep, otherwise you feel partially fulfilled or not fulfilled at all and screwed over when you play Femshep...at least that is how I felt.
Anyways back to Thane here is an Awesome pic of Femshep and Thane!

@Jessica The puppy is adorable,y'know my great grandmothers name was Viola..anywho I live in the south so it can be very humid and hot down here in the summertime.

FemShep with Liara, Garrus, Kaidan, or no romance at all works just as well as ManShep. Though it's BS that FemShep players have to somehow pick the "correct" romance. Pbbt.
I will toss in a plug for the ManShep/Miranda story arc, though. Miranda's treatment in ME3 wasn't great, but it was at least the bare minimum necessary to conclude her story arc and romance. Most of the ME2 cast didn't even get that.

I need some quick DAO guidance. I was going to spend money downloading the DLC, but then Coldi told me about the UE, which of course is a ton cheaper. So, now I have the UE (PC), and intend on keeping my current installation of DAO, adding Awakenings, and then adding the DLC. PC version, btw.
However, I am confused about one thing: How to get this copy of the game registered and get access to the DLC .
Here are the issues/questions:
1. I'm assuming that I need to register my copy of the game, AND redeem the DLC on BSN. The question is: do I do both of these things with the SAME code or not?
2. There are TWO codes in the box. Code 1 is pre-printed on the back of the DAO manual. Code 2 is on an additional piece of paper that says "Unlock all the additional content packs!". It should be noted that this latter code has been covered with a white sticker that has a new code printed on it.
3A. To make it even more confusing, there seem to be conflicting instructions on this piece of paper. The instructions pre-printed on the page say to go to BSN and use the redeem feature, enter the code, then start the game and log in to authorize. This sort of gives the impression that I register the game with the first code and then redeem the DLC content with the second code.
3B. The second set of instructions are via a white sticker on the same piece of paper that tells the player to first patch, then register on BSN using the DLC code below (maybe?) by inputing it under the DAO UE register feature (NOT via REDEEM). This sort of gives me the impression that if I use the second code to register the game, the DLC will "show up" in the registered game content section without actually goingthroug hthe step of "redeeming" it.
Has anyone else done this for the PC version? My fear is that I will fark it up by putting the wrong code in the wrong place and then borking everything and wasting my $25 bucks. Not to mention messing up my account. EA was of no use to me when I had a huge issue with both ME3 and ME2 DLC, so I'm seriously afraid of a repeat, lol.
Any PC players out there that used the UE?
Thanks!!

And I've already noticed a few things. You remember on Earth when Shep asks VS about their promotion that they didn't know about? Yeah, that doesn't happen.
I'm just on the Citadel now, kinda bored really. But with the exception of my heart being ripped out at Huerta, it's okay.

Well, Coldi and I have determined that I have 2 problems:
1. I can't install just the DLC -- Awakenings nor any of the other DLC will install from either disk. All both disks will do is bring up the launcher for my current install of DAO. So, it looks like I first need to uninstall my current installation, and then reinstall the UE. Would be nice if THAT little tidbit of information was in either set of useless instructions.
2. Neither code will work -- even if I launch the game, log in, and hit the "redeem code" dialog. Both codes give me an error that they won't work (not that they have been used already, just that they won't work). Checking my registered game content, and "installed content" from within the game, both verify this. My only guess is that they enacted an expiration date to the codes.
I don't want to hijak the thread further, so feel free to PM me if you (or anyone!) want to continue chatting about it. I see too much time with EA tech support in my future, so if I can't get it to work after a fresh install, I'll probably cut my losses. EA never ceases to let me down. All in the name of their precious DRM. I've never pirated anything in my life. Never even thought about it. Not even mp3s, which I'm sure is more than most people can say!
Sooooo grumpy right now. I need some Thane to make it better

Oh, and....
*snips wonderful fanart*
I have the Steam UE edition, and that one came with one code for the game itself which I reedemed via [Profile>Register Games>Dragona Age Ultimate Edition PC], and another seperate one for the DLC+Awakenings which I redeemed via [Profile>Redeem Promo Code].
The code for the game was 20 characters long while the code for the DLC+Awakenings was 16 characters long (also a "-" seperated each "set" of 4 letters). Dunno if this holds true for a physical copy as well though :/
And here is an exercept from this FAQ on DAO:UE for PC that might be of help:
4) How do I register my game? How do I redeem the extra content?
For the retail disc version, you'll get two codes in the Ultimate Edition box.
-- The "CD" key (printed on the back of the manual) is used to register the game. You can do this by accessing this page: http://social.biowar...es_register.php
-- There is a separate code for redeeming the extra content. In the
retail disc version, it is on an insert card (the other side is an
advertisement for Mass Effect 2). You need to enter the redeem code on
this page: http://social.biowar...redeem_code.php
My UE was installed on it it's own, therefore I can't provide any first-hand experience re: installing UE on top of a vanilla install, however, this might be of help when installing.
(Hell, that entire sub-forum has been of more help to me than any *official* support.
(And now, since I'm a bit tired, I'm going to call it a night earlier than usual so....

I think Steve is a better choice too.
I couldn't stand Kaidan in ME3, and his relationship with MShep didn't seem as real as the one with Steve.

So is there ANY hope with this next one? The 8 writers thing lifted my eyebrows. I know 6 less created the ending we were given so it's good that there are more people working on this. But then I realized a whole TEAM worked on Thane so...
I dunno, after Omega I felt they were taking steps backward. Levi at LEAST had squad interaction, more explanation and added something new to the end (minor I know) which was a good sign they were willing to do more of that in future. What are everyone else's thoughts on the "citadel dlc".
