Yeah, well, you were misbehaving elsewhere.. :(

LOL Also, I need an opinion because I don't know if I can do this. Mission Rannoch...non-imports can't save both. I don't know if I can sacrifice either side. I'm thinking of gibbing.

If I could detach myself completely (like a ME newb) it would be no problem, but I've been here for three games and this *is* a big deal.

Thoughts?

Edit: ****! edited because I posted without enough caffeine. NOOOO non-imports cannot save both. Hence my dilemma.

I'm trying to think where I was yesterday, Halo 4 MP. Anyway your dilemma, save the quarians becuz you'll only end up lossing the geth with the destroy ending and on top of that Legion dies no matter what so there will be zero geth you'll have a connection to. That's what I'd do.

@Seifer...yeah. I quit the whole Final Fantasy after X-2. I own XI, but have never finished it. Quit Zelda after OOT, and OMFG don't get me started on RE. I've played most of RE4 (Leon is yummy), but I draw the line at playing as an Umbrella employee. The latest one just doesn't look appealing.

Besides, now I've got Skyrim, Dishonored, Far Cry 3, and will have Metro 2033 and Bioshock Infinite. Why do I need bioware at all?

Legion never gets to ME3 in a non-import. But Geth IV sounds so much like him, what with that tinny Shepard-Commander stuff. :(

But you're probably right...

We're glad you enjoyed his death...athough I can't say I understand that concept personally. I've never enjoyed anyone around me dying...

Not sure what you are saying here though: "coward face shouldve been ashamed."

We didn't enjoy his death and we really *really* didn't enjoy not being given the option to save him. That is the main point many of us are trying (still) to make. We wanted the option, not to watch him die with almost the exact same scene that broShep got.

You were a FF fan?

Let me tell ya just how much of a FF fan I am

I could talk about FF games (the classics of course) back when it was SquareSOFT.
don't get me started on the FF series...FFX was the last SquareSOFT game...sadly

but i did play FFIV DS Remake. That was great. Faithful to the Series, with great VA & graphics.

Rubicante is ****ing bad****

The issue is Thane always dies, no matter what. This is fine for my canon Shepard, but what about my other Shepards? Or how about Jessica Shepard who did romance Thane and thanks to what happen to him in ME3 she no lnoger exsist as I deleted all her saves because I'm not going through that crap again like I did with my three Shepards in ME2.

I Don't always agree with mnomaha, however here I do agree with her. Thane is simply an afterthought. It's bad enough he had no real role in the suicide mission, now Bioware decides to put no effort into him in ME3 and forgets about his romance, unless you think that awkward kiss in the hospital and a minor change in dialog at his deathbed is romance content.

coward face meaning kai leing... you know thanes joke about failing to get his target because of a terminaly ill drell... thats the definition of sucking to me

@Mr. House...thanks for that. Many of us never expected him to live throughout the whole game, but we did expect him to live well. But when bioware started playing around with their now denied foreshadowing, well it got our hopes up. We just want an option so that we can all keep which ever path we want.

He is very much an afterthought in ME3 and it shows.

Ah, I'm with you now. That is probably one of his nicer nicknames then.  bioware's laziness really showed in this entire scene, so definitely agree with the sucking part.

never romanced honestly to attached to liara... but i might be okay romancers being able to save him if they did it right... or definatly a better hospital scene then "awkward kiss" that sounds bad but for non romancers i like the death he has

Okay, the Monday Musing is up on the Cosmic Love blog.  I had writers block over the weekend, hence the lateness of it.  Topic of discussion: the lack of closure/content for some of the ME2 LI's.  Namely Thane, Miranda, Jack, and Jacob.
As always, feel free to drop in your .02.

@Mr. House and @mnomaha - agree with both of your assessments.

This is just a personal pet peeve of mine, but I think the idea of a "good death" are a "beautiful" death is non-existent. I think death in a story can be written thoughtfully, with care, but that death is never "good" or "beautiful".  Am I being nitpicky with how people choose to colorfully word things; absolutely!  Doesn't change the fact that when people describe any death (and that would include Thane's) in such a manner, it "hollows" my stomach, and saddens me.  Can't change how people choose to state their opinion on this, but I intend to throw mine out there as well.

@MR_PN...it would be nice to have the option, but I don't know that I have enough trust left in bioware to do it right.

And I absolutely detest that cheap porno imitation at the hospital. It was as tasteless as the rest of his treatment in ME3.

And thanks for the support. :)

im not saying that part didnt make me sad or that i wanted him dead but death happens and to me the sacrifice card is a more worthy death then lung rot. he dies a hero. everyone deserves that chance

As attached to Liara as you are, we are thusly to Thane.  Everyone who didn't care what direction they took with the character, and those that wanted him to die, were covered.  We were hoping to have been considered as well.  No matter what we wished for, what we got, is what we got.  Not to mention that our LI of choice was negated as a romantic option come me3.  There have been many a creative posts, giving options to how it could have been handled, and in some cases how it still "could" be (could being the operative word here, not should or will).  But BW will do as they choose.

Thanks for offering your thoughts.

Alright I have to get this off my chest!!!!

Why the hell, in the Mass Effect universe, with high tech hygiene products available, do my characters look like they just stepped out of Dragon Age? Their hands are filthy and it is driving me to distraction!!!! They make Skyrim people look positively tidy!

Ahhhh, don't trust them to do it right! I think Liara can die now, but you have to be a really awful (or lazy) gamer for it to happen. I could be gamer of the year and Thane will still die. bioware has no pride in their games anymore. Very sad.

Just wanting to add to this

I think the rabid “thane has to die crowd” would have accepted anything as long as it killed thane. Seriously, what happened in ME3 proves this. He jumps on a sword, a sword kills him, NOT the illness he spoke about in ME2 and ME3.  Soooooo where is all this “fitting” nonsense coming from? Fitting would be a death consistent with his keprals right? Keprals that didn’t turn into an entirely new magical disease.  Wouldn’t a fitting death be one that is built up to? Consistent? Had something to do with the thing that he was dying of?  I swear an acme anvil could have fallen on him and you would have heard the fans declare how “it was meant to be!”. Bioware and a lot of fans just wanted him dead, not really caring HOW . Just that he did.

Think they are finally rebooting the character forums?
