I hope I didn't get the answer wrong...again...goes to show how much I know about 3rd person shooting lol...thanks beanie for the link. :)

@Vlk Yeah I have never failed Thane's mission but from what I've heard and seen Thane dies if you do fail his mission....I could be wrong though.

I didn't either, but I'm sure Thane just dies between the games if he's not loyal. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. :P

He doesn't die between games if he survives ME2 and isn't loyal. There is a slight change in the dialogue to reflect it, but that's it. Kolyat still shows up after the Citadel Coup.

@ Sable and Coldi

Well this is what it looks like in Borderlands, the game is a bit comic book style that's why it looks cartoony lol...anyways thanks coldi for telling me what she meant! ^^

Oooh, very pretty game.  I really like the aesthetic.  Unfortunately, that's definitely 1st person.  Butts.

@BeanieBat:  Thanks for the link.  I'll keep that in mind if I ever leave Skyrim :D  I was replaying some of ME3 with my main Shepard as a Vanguard (since they're lots of fun in MP) and just stopped.  Because DRAGONS.

Hey @mnomaha, I need your Sheps Name, class, Background and Alignment for your Shep + Steve screenies. :)

@Sable - I haven't forgotten about your Garrus + f!Shep screenshots. Just trying to get a few screenies of characters I hadn't gotten at all yet. My plan is to air yours next week. ;)

@mnomaha - PORTLAND!!!! lol.....Do what you think is best (which I have no doubt you will do.....you're a smart and independent lady.....k, now I sound like a self-affirmation tape...LOL!)

I hope the following doesn't come out all judgemental like, but I have been puzzling over something as of late. It is strange, but I am getting an odd vibe from some Thane fans. I'll explain. I know that some fans have always been OK with Thane dying in the game (he was terminally ill), and some have always liked the "idea" of Thane dying or living being based on certain circumstances (loyal vs. unloyal, romanced/not romanced, do step A B and C to ensure he can survive - think Miranda's situation for example) which would then result in choices/options on role playing. And of course, there are some who have always just felt that he didn't need to die at all in the series (whether it is because the series plays out simply before he succumbs to his illness, or he gets a life extention/cure). I get all of these thoughts.

But what recently is surprising, is how it seems as though some Thane fans can't "express" that they would prefer him alive!?!?! It's almost like a "badge of shame" to wish for him to live through the series. I know I am probably being overly dramatic, but I keep seeing a lot of qualifying of Thane fans on some sites and forums, where they feel the need to share their disgruntled opinions about his me3 treatment, but that THAT doesn't mean they don't think he should die.........mm'kay. o.O People have every right to change their mind, but I do wonder "where" the change of heart came from. Call it a curiousity. And yes; some people always felt that way. But remembering how vocal many were last spring/summer, and the tune that seems to be sung moreso now.......just something I ponder.

As for me, I still want the old boy ALIVE. Will never wish differently, and have no problem being viewed as....well, however people wish to view me...heh! XD

I haven't seen much of that myself. Is it on this site or some others?
Did they say they are ok with him dying? Maybe they have just given up after all this time.
I still think a very large majority of Thane fans want him to live. I know I do.

I think the sea of " U NEW HE WAZ DYIN" gets tiring to "argue" against. No matter what evidence you present or how you express yourself you get that same knee jerk reaction. So maybe some are avoiding saying they want him alive to get a friggin point across without it being ignored.

Or maybe they're trying to avoid the "emotional fangirl" stereotype? Because if you want Thane alive it's because you're a silly fangirl that got overly attached, your anger has no logic Posted Image

@JECW - It's not so much here, but I see it on other sites.

@Hyrule_Gal - I know everyone can get tired of arguing the finer points, when countered with "U NEW HE WAZ DYIN".....so I have know doubt that can have an affect. But I thing your second point might be the more "true" one. I can't read peoples minds, and if someone doesn't wish to admit to something like that, they wont' (and really, they don't have to...their choice). The only thing is, who cares what some yo-yo on the interwebz may think of you. If someone wants to believe something false about you, they will. I remember how I would see some of the BSN posters make comments like "those hanging out in the Character & Romance forums are just desperate, single, bottom dwellers, pining after their waifus." I would suspect, from most of the people I have interacted with, that that is far from the truth. Look at our group as an example: we are a diverse group of women AND some men, ranging in ages of 20 - 45, a good number of us are married and some have children. We work, pay mortgages and taxes. Go to school, or already have degrees in higher learning. We are from different countries, continents, backgrounds........diverse. :) So I say, embrace your inner fangirl (or fanboi)!! If someone needs to label, so be it. :D :D

Okay, so everyone head over to the Cosmic Love blog and add your .02 on your favorite character(s). We didn't have a regular Character Spotlight to add, because WE didn't have one! LOL. I'm also trying to "fish" for guest writers.......*hint, hint*.

Dog is looking wantingly at the door....WALKIES! :D

Coldi I'm catching up on what I missed while being sucked into re-watching the last 3 seasons of Justified to watch the premire of the 4th season last night. I was gonna read through everything I missed but then I saw this ME ME  ME WHAT CAN I DO? PLEASE????????????

@Giftfish answered your polls and opps didn't realize you were also the person who did the polls awhile back about romance dlc and had the one listed as Samara/Morinth, I believe I made comment a long time ago on those polls of yours about me refusing to vote on any polls where it lists Samara/Morinth like that due to it being a pet peeve of mine. I'm pretty certain I was much more of an @sshole about it, sorry, anyway if you all wanna go look for it I'm sure it's proof I'm prone to being an @sshole at times.

Oh and thank you everyone for the well wishes on my Grandma unfortunatly she's only gonna get worse before she gets better because she's just got an iregular heartbeat and a few atteries that are getting clogged the wondeful gov. Medicare won't cover any operation to unclog her atereries until either she's got at least on with a 75% blockage or until she's had a heartattack.

I haven't seen this complaceny thing you're speaking. I tend to do lots of hanging out on other forums and sites (not ME related) with a great deal of people from other conturies not USA,. Okay now that I've got that out of the way, the not usa thing, in my experence this is what I find the people from the USA are often one who are happy to shut up and accept what they are given, they're willing to settle for a pile of cr@p where people from other conturies aren't as willing to embrace a pile of cr@p.

In fact many people from other conturies (mainly I'm hanging in places with lots of people from the EU and some south american places) aren't afraid to say they hated something and be vocal about it, they're more likely to take a stand for something, and will complain and voice it years even decades later..

But the US people, much like your discribing over time where they had been vocal before, start to act like taking a stand and being vocal about said pile of sh!t is a "Badge of Shame". or over time they just embrace said pile of cr@p like it's cool. They tend to just become (forgive my extreme terming here) subverted and surpressed the more time goes by, just because it's what the masses in the usa do. And after time they'll even start getting upset at others who haven't subverted or don't conform to their stand point of pile of sh!t being good.

Way back in April and May I made many comments about time being the enimy because BW would just dick off and the longer they did it the more fans (espessially in the USA) would go along and conform. They'd have more sheepeople on their side. Course some people think I'm crazy for saying such things about the people in the so called 'land of freedom" but I'm just saying it like I've seen it.

I suspect that is what's happening of course I'm sure that not all these newly turned sheepeople are from the USA but I'd be willing to bet that a great deal of them are. That's my 2 cents worth.

Agreed.  There's only so much you can yell at a brick wall before you need some cough syrup :D

@gears:  I guess you could call it complacency.  There's definitely the element of just not giving a damn any more.  I know I've hit that point with ME's main plot.  Eventually there IS no point in discussing the matter--almost a year after ME3, people's minds are pretty well made up.

But it's also about realizing when something is just not worth your time and emotional investment, when it really can't be salvaged.  That's different for every individual.  For me, MEHEM did wonders salvaging my individual playthroughs, but ME3 itself is still too borked to fix.  I could continue to pour energy into it...or I could just walk and spend my time and money elsewhere.  TBH the latter option's more appealing :D

@Roxy - no, you didn't answer wrong! Sorry! You did show that it was a FPS, I just thought I would confirm that there is no option to change the settings in game to make it third-person but that it can be done a long way! =]

@Sable - Just to try and tempt you some more, Borderlands might not have dragons but... http://images1.wikia...lker-hi-res.jpg =P

Edit: Also, @coldi - I certainly gave up on the Thane dying issue after a while when getting involved in discussions, but it was just so frustrating that the 'he was dying' was the response to EVERYTHING!!! Oh, he acted differently with Shepard between 2 and 3? That's because he was dying.  His disease changed between 2 and 3? What does it matter? He was dying anyway.

I don't think I ever stated that I didn't mind him dying, more that I wanted the people to ignore that issue for a while to try and get them to listen to the other issues. I certainly didn't want him to die... If there was a real ending where Shepard and some of the squad died, that would be different. I wouldn't mind Shepard and Thane dying whilst fighting to save the universe... Now I have just given up trying to use logic with certain people! =P And I still want Thane to live, whether through cure/treatment or simply by not throwing himself on a sword. That way you could make up your own outcome. And while I would agree that this only be an option for romanced Thane, the awful storytelling that was his death would ideally be corrected for even those with an unloyal Thane!

Oh I live in the USA to. I'm just saying from much of my experiences online in various forums it seems that people in the usa are far more willing to just take what's given to them and would rather not rock the boat. I think it's a issue of society and cultures and a whole bunch of other things which really I could write a novel on. But that's besides the point, I was stating that thoughts is all.

Anyway I get the thing about not wasting energy on repeating the same thing over and over and voicing your thoughts on it. I'm also one who will never stop saying what I don't like and voice my opinion and I'll never stop saying that ME3 set a new all time low for selling out, dropping the ball, jumping the shark, doing so much wrong. Because there was very little that was done right with ME3.

LOLOLOL, Gears.

No worries -- I  didn't even notice, and thanks for voting...both times!

Listing them as "Samara/Morinth" isn't meant to imply that they are "even" or "interchangeable" or the "same" or  anything of that nature.

It's meant to present them as an "either or" situation, which is a homage to how they are presented in the game.  They are congeners of each other as far as ME2 is concerned -- 2 sides of the same coin. If you let Samara live you are siding with "good", and she is subsequently available for a romance (if youare good ENOUGH, lol).

If you pick Morinth, you are siding with "evil"....or at least chaos, depending on how one views her character, and then she is subsequently available.

Though, neither get the "full" romance treatment in their own right. Samara because she puts the brakes on, and Morinth b/c she'll eat your soul if you actually have sex with her!

BAH! @mnomaha forgot to get me her Shep details for her Shep + Steve screenshots. So now I am dubbing her Shepard, Ser "Scooter" Shepard! And he is from the land of cake and sardines. He likes the color purple and hopscotch (he's galaxy champion, you know...yup!). And Steve is his wubby-bear.....As for class, "Scooter" prefers to work with guns....Caulk guns, that is. He is a Master Calker. The Keepers have nothing on his caulking skills. No "renegade/paragon" nonesense for him.....he only does things "ironically", and uses oxymorons in every sentence. So dreamy. XD XD

As for everyone else, I just love you guys!! All of you had some great points, and I thank you for engaging my stupid musings. <3
