Does it take place before or after the coup?
I read it might be after. If it's after they will use that as an excuse to give us nothing.

If my previous post didn't make it clear, I am going to buy the s*** out of this DLC. I've bought every other DLC on their respective release dates and this will be no exception. (Although it is coming out on a week when I'm going to be grading a hundred midterms...)

I'm nervous but I'm getting more excited by the minute, actually. Listening to you guys is helping to lower my expectations which makes me feel less anxious about being disappointed, ha ha ha!

I'm actually super excited about having an apartment. I think it has tremendous opportunity for cuteness. A nice quiet place for respite during the badness that goes down during the game!


I'm trying not to speculate too much because I don't want to build up my own expectations, because I think that would be setting myself up for disappointment... but I am also trying to hang on to a general sense of optimism  

I've rewritten this post so many times because I've been so nervous to admit how excited I am about this DLC. I have to be honest with you all: I love this game. I know there have been a lot of bumps in the road and people are still hurting from stuff (I am no exception, there are many things that make me froth at the mouth in rage), but the passionate responses are all just sort of part of this tumultuous relationship with what is, in my opinion, an amazing, flawed, but still unprecedented piece of gaming and storytelling genius.

Maybe I'm just telling myself this to keep from being disappointed, but even if they completely ignore Thane (a second time, I should say), there are still plenty of elements that will make me happy to play this DLC... even just the sound team alone! I swear, Mass Effect has the best sound design, voice direction and soundtrack music of any game, anywhere... maybe I'm just keeping my expectations low, but if the DLC is just unintelligible nonsense, at least it'll sound good! Right? ...

I hope I don't sound like a crazy person... I just really love this game, and if I can play more of it, then... I'm basically happy. Ish.

And if they write a really tasteful, beautiful scene with Thane, to the level of quality that I know they are capable of... then... that would just be a dream come true.

They could still give Jacob something because he isn't dead. Miranda we know will be in it though.

Apparently I was wrong to like playing as a straight femShep. Back to JRPGs for me.

Ironicly, I'm replaying KOTOR 2 with the restoration mode. Female exile sorta got shafted there too.

I know I just said I didn't want to speculate much, but a nice memorial scene would be nice... something, you know, really tasteful... and well-written...

Well, it seems I won't be playing that DLC after all..... At least I'm glad they told this before I went to play it.

It seems not.  If it's only available post Coup, then Thane is gone and Jacob has already dumped Shepard.

So no,we aren't the only fan base that gets shafted.

But, we will definitely be one of 2.

Note that the presence of ALL ME2 squaddies has not actually been confirmed.

So we get a nice memorial scene or an extended death bed scene while Miranda, Jack and maybe Jacob get to run around with you. You get more time with them, but we just get to watch our LI die all over again. That's if they even give us the memorial scene. Will Thane be in it at all?

Yes we will be if they decided to fix Jacob. He still isn't dead.
Also he still may get to run and fight with you and you might be able to talk to him. There is still hope for Jacob. Small hope but it is still there. I don't see that for Thane.

I just don't see how it helps to compare these scenes (which, it must be noted, don't actually exist yet)...

I mean, yeah, maybe you can run around with Jacob, but you'd be running around with Jacob. I don't actually care too much about that. A deathbed scene with Thane is worth 10,000 hours of running around with Jacob. To me, at least.

But even that being said, it's still all gameplay, and the more hours of Mass Effect I can get out of this DLC, the happier I'll be, because... like I said before... I just love this game. I just do. Not as much as I love Thane, but still, a lot.

And I like Jack a lot too, so if I get to run around with her, that's also worth $14.99 to me. Again, not as much as a good scene with Thane... but it's all good stuff, you know?

Just trying to stay positive... as hard as I can,  ha ha ha!

Giving Thane a proper death scene with condolences from other squaddies is too little, too late in my opinion.

Something like that should have already been in the game. For it just to be thrown into the DLC in lieu of actual time with Thane is just a copout.

I'm hoping , PRAYING we see an image of Thane or something in the next weeks. They know and are aware Thane fans aren't happy and KNOW the team forgot about Thane's LI status. This is their last chance to fix it somehow. If they don't they can't say "whoops we forgot" again. It would be the ultimate insult, to create a romance DLC that doesn't include Thane , one of the characters that was forgotten about the most.

I shall go back to my annoyed mode until I hear some kind of confirmation about this. Amazing, the first minute in a year I was uber excited for ME3 again despite that ending and just like that *snap* the feeling is gone.

I don't care much about running around with Jacob either, but his fanbase might. Bioware might give them something while giving us nothing. With the way they have treated us lately I doubt we would even get good deathbed scene if we get one at all. They already gave us one so they may feel that is enough. To be honest I really don't want another deathbed scene anyway. I wanted to be able to do the things you will probably be able to do with every other LI,and we all wanted to be able to save him.

I also don't think it is fair if we get left out while bioware gives things to Miranda and Jack. Even Zaeed gets more content. Making it after the coup just doesn't look good for us. I would love to be wrong though.

I agree. I don't care so much about condolences, I just want Thane. I want my Shep to tell him she loves him, and vice versa. Condolences are not a good enough reason for me to play any DLC.

I can't imagine what they were thinking when making this DLC... "Well we're already negated Thane and Jacob as LIs, and everybody knows we don't care about femShep, so no one will care if they don't get any content"? Jacob and Thane should have been the first priority..... still can't believe they are just going with Miri and probably Jack. <_<
