I don't care much about running around with Jacob either, but his fanbase might. Bioware might give them something while giving us nothing. With the way they have treated us lately I doubt we would even get good deathbed scene if we get one at all. They already gave us one so they may feel that is enough. To be honest I really don't want another deathbed scene anyway. I wanted to be able to do the things you will probably be able to do with every other LI,and we all wanted to be able to save him.
I also don't think it is fair if we get left out while bioware gives things to Miranda and Jack. Even Zaeed gets more content. Making it after the coup just doesn't look good for us. I would love to be wrong though.
So my inner struggle sounds like this:
A) "YES JECW is SO RIGHT I DEMAND more time with Thane. Goddammit I DESERVE to DROWN in his VOICE and a mission equivalent to every other character's mission is a vector to produce that effect"
I specifically didn't want to speculate but I'm doing it anyway. Let's not imagine a disappointing memorial scene that looks crappy compared to everyone else's happy endings. Of course we are going to feel disappointed if we imagine a crappy scene! We don't know how they'll handle it until we see the DLC. If executed tastefully, a grieving Shepard whose dialogue is affected throughout the rest of the game would represent a pretty amazing amount of stimulating new content, and even though it's not me drowning in a pool of delicious Thane voice, I'd still find it to be a tasteful and beautiful addition to the narrative. But I wasn't going to speculate, dammit! This is hard.
