It really does suck.
I don't think they could give a reason good enough.

@Roxy
You've never been drunk?
I' be only been falling down drunk once and I will never do it again. To many tequila shots and Long Island ice tea.
I had the worst hang over the next day.

Well let me tell you the art of being drunk.......*Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz* Wat?! No, no....water! :D :D

Even for someone like me, who enjoys libations much more than she should, I have only been falling down drunken two, maybe three times in my entire life. Hand to deity of your choice. However, been tipsy.....oooohhhhhhh, more than I can count. Water, and having said spirits/wine/beer with your meal can keep you hangover free, always. :D :D

I have one beer and I'm gone. Yay for both Asian genes and low body mass :)

It does make me a cheap drunk, though, so I can afford to get tipsy off of nicer quality stuff. Mojitos FTW. Also, stouts.

@ Roxy
I've never felt the need to get drunk either. I really don't like the taste of alcohol, but I went out with some friends and that's what happened. I've been tipsy maybe three or four times, but only falling down drunk once.

Drinking water does help. They taught us that when we lived in Japan.
I don't know about the other stuff though.

One of my hobbies is cooking (the others; jazz flute, outsider art, and mahjong....*wink*). I came from a family entrenched in all things epicurean (well, regarding food that is...lol). My father had been a chef for a while, and has been a wine connoisseur (admittedly, self-proclaimed...hehe) for most of his 78 years. So naturally, I gravitated towards such extravagances. So food and drink became a mainstay with me. For some years, I have been able to counteract the "side effects" of these two indulgences, since I was an avid cyclist and hiker. But, after my plantar fasciitis problem this last summer....blah! I really need to temper my "hobby" LOL.....expanding middle, and backside...yeesh! XD

water and food (especially water) will help keep hangovers at bay, generally. If you still feel bad in the morning though, start with fruit. Your body will be craving sugars, and best to give easily processed sugars like fructose found in fruits. And again, water, water, water. :D All else fails, greasy food, and yes......hair of the dog if nothing else helps.

LOL...giving advice on hangovers to those that don't need it. DOH! *smacks forehead* >.< XD

I wish someone had told me this when I had my hangover. I felt awful the next day.
How is hair of the dog going to help?  I thought that would make it worse. I don't think I could have drank anymore.

Well, the treatment idea has been around for ever and a day, but here is a bit o' wiki for info....(also gives you a hint as to why fruit - or simple sugar type substitutes - can work quite well)

"In the second, hangovers are attributed to methanol metabolism.[6][7] Levels of methanol, present as a congener in alcohol, have been correlated with severity of hangover[8][9] and methanol metabolism to the highly toxic formate via formaldehyde[10] has a timecourse[clarification needed Meaning?] in keeping with the appearance of hangover symptoms.[11] As both ethanol and methanol are metabolised by alcohol dehydrogenase – and ethanol is a much better substrate for this enzyme – drinking more of the former then effectively prevents (or delays) the metabolism of the latter. As pure ethanol consumption has also been found to increase endogenous levels of methanol [12] presumably for this reason, this suggests that if "hair of the dog" works in this way it effects a temporary hiatus rather than a cure.[clarification needed]
From the perspective of sugar metabolism, alcohol may cause a blood sugar spike, resulting in a hypoglycemic awakening "hangover".[citation needed] Finishing the drink left on the counter might be the quickest way to ingest more calories that quickly convert to sugar to raise the body's blood sugar, as well as lifting the fainting and headaches often associated with low blood sugar."

*screeches in* sorry, I've been hyperventilating about this over on tumblr. I can't believe we have to wait so long to find out exactly what they have planned. I know we're in for a let down though. Meh.

Well @Pie, I'm handing out unnecessary hangover advice (ermm...unnecessary for all but me, and maybe giftfish...lol), Roxy is running away from Sable attempting to tickle her, mnomaha is eating popcorn (or just "flicking" at everyone) like the queen of shiva (wuteva that means...>.<), and everyone else has decided that they will "wait and see"....or else they are saying "***k-it! I'm outta here! <bastarts>"

LOL....how ya been? :D

This DLC finally define my relationship to products BioWare and EA. If they do not keep their promises made before the release of ME3, they will get no more of my money. I do not like when I was cheated. I always find comfort in TES Online.

This is what BioWare does to us! I'm currently swinging between extreme distress and quiet hope. I know I'll have those hopes dashed.

I'm confused about the whole Bioware supposedly doesn't care about femsheps now. And then I realise that Garrus's romance is perfectly fine and great (minus fade to black scenes maybe) And Garrus is JUST for femshep.

What game are they playing by making his romance good but the rest not good? Gah.

@Sable...20%? that sounds really low. I wonder if the data method was the same as their ME3 information that Jessica "can't" release.

*moons Coldi and runs off again* Fear me!!!!

Link to the article on BioWare's ME2 data.  I'd assume this is all from online play: users who are on Xbox Live, or PC gamers who allow BioWare to access their play data.

There's no reason to assume they're lying, even if as coldi pointed out, the method of collection is imperfect.  They're only biting themselves in the ass if they use inaccurate data to inform design choices.

Yeah, that 80% of players played as male Shepard really tells you nothing about those who played female Shepard.

It's a very misleading statistic, as it leads the viewer to conclude that it's a zero-sum game, which it isn't -- they are presenting data for players for multiple PTs.  They simply did not include any data regarding the percentage of players who ALSO played as female Shepard, and making an assumption that it is 20% (100-80) is incorrect.

Literally all this tells us is 80%  of players had a PT with male Shep -- it does not say that 80% of players played ONLY male Shep(thereby leaving FemShep players as the lowly 20%).

One thig I've learn from summarizing the data from our survey, is that it is very easy to mislead people, or push them into a certain impression, by presenting the information in a specific manner.  I try my best NOT  to do this.

I'm tired.

I'm tired of the "Jacob had fans?" meme.

I'm tired of the "You knew he was dying" meme.

I'm tired of the "But cheating is realistic" meme.

Sigh. I'm also disturbed by a thread wanting MAury type escapades in Jacob's probable content in the DLC. Can't people wish his fans get something nice and not stereotypical?

Ugh.

BioWare care about femshep but only about those who choose only one right option in whole ME Universe aka Kaidan Alenko

Garrus is a different story. He is one of the most popular characters along with Tali and Liara. He is probably the only character who is pretty much liked equally by both men and women. He very rarly gets any hate if he gets it at all. Bioware isn't going to mess with that.

The gloating is strong on bsn at the moment. Now it'll soon become a contest on who's LI got the most content and everyone else are just entitled whiners.

As for Garrus, I suppose that makes sense. Just a good business decision and we happened to gain from it. But the rest... haha... :D

._.
