Daniiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! Hi! that is one impressive tattoo... had to have hurt a bit I've got a pathetic scribble on my arm ('designed' it myself - not Thane related) and that was pretty painful, esp at the back of my arm. I am clearly a lightweight.

If anyone has the time. Please come and comment on the ME3 game forum about the ME3 Citadel DLC and Thane.

Thanemancers and the Citadel DLC.

(Edit) Warning: There are trolls on the thread above, try to ignore them. However I felt it was necessary to let Bioware know that we aren't dead yet...regardless of them shutting down the romance forum for ME3.

Commented just to show another Thanemances supporting the cause.

So many great old faces around!

At this point I can't even think about the DLC. Way too much work to dowrapping up the blog over the next week. Arg.

And, holy crap, those tattoos seriously rock.

Thanks those who post and are on our side.

Wish I could say the same for the numerous trolls out there who can't think further than their flat nose goes. I though the WoW community was bad, sheesh, it has nothing on BSN and its character hate.

Added something too. I think I'm going to avoid spoilers from this last DLC, but I'd like to know if there's something for Thane. I haven't decided yet what to do. Part of me wants to run away from these forums and just ... never find out, as I'm pretty much sure that Thane will die anyway.

It's like talking to a brick wall.
I'm starting to really understand why some people who post on other forums avoid this place like the plague. They want nothing to do with the people on here.

Just read the Grunt thread too. How people say they'd flip if he had died and how aweful that'd been.

But that Thane dies? Totally cool. Trying to protest against that? Oh no, you're an idiot for doing that, go back to your corner and worship Liara.

I'm not sure why I bother going to the forums and insist on talking to this... yes, brickwall! But it seems like the only way to remind Bioware that we're still here.

Expressed my opinions on the thread. I love having choices in my romance arcs (I'm a sucker for switching things up), but you have to have choices to BEGIN with, for that to work.....now don't ya! :P

Thanks for posting over on the Citadel DLC thread. I'll try to keep the trolls from totally taking it over...

I'd pop in there, but I just won't go into threads like that anymore.

You can't talk people out of something when they are purposefully being obnoxious about it. There's no point.

If Thane had the option to live at the beginning, a majority of the trolls would likely have had no problem with it. Some people just don't want others to be happy. They'd rather deny them the opportunity in order to make themselves feel better. You won't change their minds.

I can bet that 90% of those trolls just walk in, won't read, post a troll comment, and then never look at the thread again...

So yeah, it feels kinda pointless to get defensive. I'm so tempted to just wander into every other character thread and start trolling. Wanna bet I get banned within 2 threads of complaining about popular characters? :P

Shame I'm not like them.

I agree.
I don't think any of these people would have a problem if Thane had been given an option to live. They can say they would but I doubt it. None of them really care enough about his character anyway so I don't think I will ever understand their attitude.

I blame it on the leaked script.

Way back when, it had Thane setting off a bomb that destroyed the Citadel. Out of context that was pretty bad (particularly if you'd just played DA2), however now, knowing the endings, it might have been the best thing possible - blowing up the AI. The Reapers would have lost their central processing unit and would be vulnerable to conventional warfare.

The trolls are toxic, but at least the thread has some decent people posting as well.

So if anyone here would like to comment but doesn't want to go over there...

Our real question is if Thanes DLC plot is based on him surviving KL. How do we make sure that he can do it. This is most likely going to be handled similarly to Mirandas possible death on Horizon. You need certain items to avoid it.

My guess so far is:
Save Kirrahe in ME and ME3.
Romance Thane in ME2 and confirm in ME3 (To be safe no romance from ME to interfere). Or loyalty in ME2 for maleshep?.
Make sure to get the Alien Medigel ASAP from N7 Cerberus labs quest.
Complete Kasumis mission so the Drell and Hanar forces enter the war. (Possible)

If you can think of anything else to include please do let me know.

^ This.  If the option had been there in the beginning, this would be a non-issue. Does that mean no one would ever troll.....but of course not. Posted ImagePosted Image  But many wouldn't bother because we would be content just playing our game and having fun...if we ain't complaining, where's the fun in the trolling? Amirite?Posted ImagePosted Image  The few that would bother,I wouldn't give two figs what they were trollin' on about. *shrug*  Busy.....with a very pretty green man.  Posted ImagePosted Image

Those all sound like very good ways to trigger avoiding his death.  All, very good ideas.  I hope BW has implemented them for this DLC.

The loyalist idea is also a good one.  There were many folks who did not romance Thane from the survey, whowere hoping for the chance to help him avoid his death.

An option should be there also for non- romancers, but for example, only if they were friendly towards Thane (some renegade responses to him in ME2 were awful), but I'm not sure if this could be done.

Romance and/or loyalty. There are precedents...Zaeed, Grunt, Jacob, and MIranda can all die in ME3 without loyalty.

I never crashed one during my Dragonborn playthrough and I got tons of mods. The only thing I had to do what get the official Dragonborn patch in order to fix a dragon glitch I was having.

@john-in-france; I've already posted there but I'll take a look and see what's new. At the moment I'm just really sick of the offical forum's bashing of Thane.

And I'm afraid Mythlover has a point. Bioware didn't back out on the endings despite all that hate. They certainly wouldn't back out on Thane's treatment for the very same reason.

I'll just stick to Teldryn Sero in Skyrim Dragonborn... dat voice and face. (and I can keep him alive myself) :P

you mean the unofficial one on Nexus?

And actually, I'm having a bit more fun in Far Cry 3...

Well, the BW lady did answer my question Tweet with a simple, laconic ' no spoilers' that I just saw!:P

No spoilers for THANE, but spoilers for everyone else, is it? *huffs*

Someone also asked Michael Gamble - arguing we should have an answer since "Mr Priestly" ('m'not sure he deserves the polite title) confirmed characters like Samantha and Jack. Michael Gamble hasn't answered since, unfortunately :(

They really don't. I laugh at the "er wat, NO IT DIDN'T" responses I get when I mention their "fav" character's illness changed between games. Some fans LOL.

Of course that's her answer. This spoiler BS is getting old.
Why can't they ust answer a simple question that requires a yes or no answer.

You'd think the devs would have set rules on WHAT to spoil. Hilarious how said rule is so heavily enforced on Thane, Jacob and Samara.

Maybe they forgot about these people again and are talking amongst themselves going "Crap, we forgot again!"

LOL I wouldn't put it past  them at this point!:P But as someone said in the Thanemancers and Citadel DLC thread, maybe  they don't want to 'spoil' us-as in ruin our mood- by  telling us that there is no Thane content...and  they don't want to ' spoil' themselves- as in not getting our money-if they admit to that, I might add myself!:P
