I'd like to think Bioware are better than that, trying to get our money in that manner. Why would they be honest about it with the anti ending folks but not us? There must be limits.

But that's mostly because a friend of mine keeps telling me they can't be that bad, I'll listen to him. For now. :P

5th march is such a long way from here.

You'd think the devs would have set rules on WHAT to spoil. Hilarious how said rule is so heavily enforced on Thane, Jacob and Samara.

Maybe they forgot about these people again and are talking amongst themselves going "Crap, we forgot again!"

:D

Someone on tumblr said Samara had been confirmed. However, I couldn't find any tweet as a proof

Maybe they meant Samantha? I've not seen anywhere that Samara has been confirmed, I suspect the main forums would have brought it up.

Sheesh, if that's true. :P

You know another group of fans I want so badly to get something out of this DLC? Ash fans.

Ash's problem was different from Thane's (cut content and buggy implementation as opposed to negligent writing), but yes, Ash also got the short end of the stick.  ME3 Ash was so one-track that I wound up kicking her off my ship; for some context, she was one of my favoite characters in ME1.

They really don't. I laugh at the "er wat, NO IT DIDN'T" responses I get when I mention their "fav" character's illness changed between games. Some fans LOL.

For someone who didn't romance him in ME2 or pay particular attention to his character, the ME3 portrayal is just fine.  It worked fine for my FemShep; I don't think she even did his loyalty mission.  I personally like Thane, but she didn't, so the ME3 scenes worked in that playthrough.

The problem is that if you DO make the attempt to reach out to him and trigger his character development, ME3 is unresponsive to that choice.  Not that BSN's trolls are likely to understand that distinction, but it's the basic problem with Thane's ME3 portrayal.  It makes sense in certain contexts, and none at all in others.

Alright, brain is working overtime at the moment. Anyone who wishes to ignore me, please feel free. XD

Here is the scenario I could totally see presented in this last DLC, regarding Thane. We know that there is some kind of conspiracy on the Citadel, revolving around Shepard. Koylat approaches Shepard with a datapad, box of evidence, hell - even handwrittten material. The young drell found this compelling piece of "whateveritis" amongst his father's belongings. The material in question, is the starting clue/aid for this so-called conspiracy. A "voice" beyond the grave, there to help guide his dear friend/last love. In the process, for those that romanced him, a vid or recorded voice of Thane talking about the intel he has gathered, but a few "Siha's" and terms of endearment are thrown in. And last of all, Garrus, Liara, EDI, who-the-hell ever, says something like "Boy, that man was really looking out for you. Sad to lose him."

Boom! Throw in a codex entry, and apparently, something like that would fix everything and be totally worth another $15......../sarcasm.

The sad thing is, we are so busy trying to defend our position, and using such diplomacy as "we didn't have a problem with him dying, per se, but what we got....."(wash, rinse, repeat, on all the problems we have pointed out regarding Thane's time in the vanilla game). Choice is what should have always been available. Those that only want to play out a happy (or happier) romance arc, go for it. Those that don't, don't. Those that would want to do multiple play throughs with different outcomes, could. And had his involvement been more robust (with variable outcomes), people who didn't romance him, could also choose how their Shepards would deal with a friendship, an indifference, or a renegade relationship with Thane. Weeeeee! What fun. /NOT sarcasm. ;)

If they could find the time to include varieties of character development and outcomes in Jack and Miranda's romances, why not for Thane or Jacob?  It's not like it would stretch the word budget or anything; Jacob and Thane could be rewritten using the exact same number of words and still account for the player's ME2 choices.  Hell, if you cut out the stupid Kai Leng fight, you'd probably save a lot of money on cinematics.

I'm still too angry about ME3 to even think about writing. Each time I think to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) I remember the horrible story of ME3 and go "meh."

Exactly.
They could have not added Diana Allers and giving EDI that body. Those things were not necessary.

Look, Thane's in or he's not. I know they want money but they have other fandoms for that. I'm sure most Thane fans wouldn't buy the DLC until they got confirmation anyway, so it wouldn't be a loss for them.

I doubt it. They decided long time ago that we're not important enough for them. Otherwise they would've at least made Thane's death different for femsheps who romanced him. :(

Really not sure how I missed this, but.....ugh.  I am going to truly go into "debbie-downer" mode.  To me, this is confirmation.  Both things she is says, are ACTUALLY the same thing. "I don't want to dash" or "encourage"....they amount to the same thing.  Both say that we should expect nothing of value (value of course, being subjective, but to the majority of us in this thread, I find it a fitting term) when it comes to Thane and this DLC.  Well, thank you Ms. Merizzan, at least I need not add another $15 to the $80 I did not get out of my copy of me3....since I was never able to enjoy and complete it.

I don't know why I didn't notice that earlier ....I don't trust anything that comes out her mouth anyways but yeah that could be a message that we have no Thane content period. Posted Image

Sorry about the bad mouthing in my post earlier I was not impresed by that tweet!

I am still going to wait till the 5th to see what happens but this truly has lessened my hope for more Thane.

Ahh....my dear Roxy.... Nothing wrong with fulfilling your pixelated needs on Fenris. Go play and smile, deary.

As for me, I am endulging....(over-endulging). Tenderloin, asparagus, triple cream brie and Prosecco. Yup......way more calories than anyone needs, and I don't give a rats patootie! Bon appetit!

I <3 Fenris.  Even if he is a ****** from time to time, it's in an endearing sort of way.

I think Bioware feeds on them now. it's the only explanation for the disappointment.

There there.  ME2 is still around.  It's not like they can go back and make that game bad.

I was playing it today funny enough and even though I didn't romance him in this particular save I couldn't help but think

"Wow, you actually mattered in this game and the person that wrote you actually gave a crap about you!" Like I had to be reminded after playing ME3.I picked the option to ask about the hanar and remembered how much I wanted to see the homeworld in ME3 because of that conversation.  The depth in ME2 compared to ME3 is staggering and you're right ME3 can't take that away at least.

Ahhhh...I love the reminiscing regarding the Hanar and Kahje. In regards to their 'soul' names, " You would find them warm....."  The look on Thane's face explaining that to Shepard.  Endearing.

I think it may be a while till I get back to those games......for some reason, this whole affair has left me...despondent on both ME and ME2.  What a revelation, considering that up until now, I had still been able to play them.  I even made the presumptuous statement to @giftfish, that regardless of the outcome of this DLC, I would be at peace once all of this had come to pass......for better or worse.  Guess I predicted falsely.  Ahhh well.  Time might temper my thoughts.Posted Image

I tried to play ME1 after ME3, and ME2 again, and found i couldn't. I have no hopes that that will change. I have no hope anymore.
