Video games should not be a source of stress and consternation. They should be a source of entertainment. Maybe it's time to play a different developer's games

Since I think everyone here thinks femShep got shafted in the LI department, here's what I would do to correct things:
-Vega becomes romancable. This at least gives a straight femShep a male option if Kaidan was killed. I don't think they have to add much to make it work.
-Garrus becomes available without import. This might take some work, but again it gives a straight option to femShep.
-Jacob reworked completely. He does not cheat on femShep if romanced. Not sure how it could happen, but it should. Will not accept a renegade option to shoot/maim him since that should have been in the game already.
-Thane has extended life if Kirrahe is alive. More conversations. Will not accept just having a funeral/Koylat in lieu of romantic content. Like Jacob, should have already been in the game.
Nice to haves:
-Garrus having a non fade to black romance scene.
-Not to sure what do with Kaidan, but he gets something as well.
-Sam gets some content off the ship for once. And not written as a male fantasy.
Regarding Liara, my bias is showing here, but I don't want any hints of children. She could get a proper date since she didn't get that, but since she got so much fluff in the game there's not much room for improvement. Garrus/Tali come close to her level, but they have room for improvement like the fade to black romance scenes and Tali's face.
But mostly I want all romance content to be equal. If Liara's getting children I'd better see other LIs get something equal to that. No exceptions.

This. I wouldn't say equal, since it's highly likely that the existing party members will have more content on the simple basis of being present in the ME3 squad. As long as there's something good for everyone, it's fine. T
The blue babies thing IMO has gotten blown a little out of proportion. There's nothing wrong with Liara's fans wanting little blue babies, or getting references to a future like that in-game. They do have a very good point regarding Liara's romance content: it's not unique to her romance or to a Shepard who picked her. Apart from her actual romance scene she has a lot of the same dialogue whether you romance her or not. It's grating for everyone, both her fans and detractors. Contrast this to, say, Garrus, who has very different dialogue in several ME3 conversations based on your relationship with him.

I tried to play ME1 after ME3, and ME2 again, and found i couldn't. I have no hopes that that will change. I have no hope anymore.
This.
I was bored today, what with having finished a marathon run of Skyrim to catch up on the DLCs and thought to myself, "Let's see what's up in the ME verse. I haven't looked in like half a year." I see an announcement for the final DLC. And then I see that it's basically meant to give you time with the ME/ME2 squaddies. Of course my first thought goes to, "And how will Thane fit into this?" 50 some odd pages of the announcement thread is too much for me to bother with for a game I didn't finish past Palaven, but thankfully you all already had a Thanecentric thread in regards to the DLC.
And what I saw...was about what I expected. Bioware can put out images and confirmations of a ton of characters, but Thane is 'spoilers' and a bunch of half answers about not wanting to build or dash hopes. They won't tell us because, well, as someone else said our money is still money and they hope to get it and know they won't if all we've got is yet another post mortem message and silence from our squad about the death of someone they fought and bled beside.
They think this silence on things that they know will lose sales will work, but the reality is, a lot of their fanbase is extremely wary, and quite aware, of this tactic now. It's being used in regards to TOR's first "expansion" as well. (And I use the term expansion lightly.) I have zero intention of buying this DLC on day 1 unless there is some really specific news regarding Thane's role in it given. And even then, I'll still likely watch it on Youtube. The fact of the matter is, I still can't stand the endings, and even Thane surviving and being cured and happy fluffy bunnies for all will not change them. It might make them vaguely easier to swallow, but in the end they're still out-of-left-field insanity.
Cipher Nine's story is the only Bioware plot left that I really have a stake in, and funnily enough, the IA's main story writer has left Bioware. So I bet that set of characters meets a fate like Thane's when they finally decide to give us actual class story expansions.
Now, back to a probably permanent absence, as I have zero real hope in anything worthwhile out of Citadel.

To clairfy, when I say no blue children, I'm talking about BW obvious prefference for Liara. I don't want to see Liara saying she's pregnant, then scenes of the crew congratulating her and Shep, then more scenes of Shep and Liara alone discussing intimate things. Then when you get to the other LIs, they might get a scene or two and that's it. Kinda like how Liara's romance scene is given everything and everyone else got a lot less. That's what I don't want.
And to be clear, I'm not against kids. I'd like it if somehow Miri got pregnant with Shep's child due to what was in the Shadow Broker files. That would be something nice for her fans,

There's leaked scripts on reddit? You all remember how that turned out the first time, right.
We're not getting anything. Even funeral is too much to hope for, and is just polishing the turd that is Thane's content, since it would not change a thing about his disregarded character arcs and character butchering.

Plus Miranda is infertile. If they fix that and not Thane I won't be happy, and Liara has been given enough on this game.
Ieldra's done a better job addressing the "Miranda is infertile" thing than I ever could, but the whole "Artificial creation of life = bad" thread in Miranda's plotline is simplistic writing at best and just plain insulting at worst. That's something that I wouldn't mind retconned.
As for Liara, I'm always conflicted. I really like her as a character. I don't like the favoritism shown to her. Some characters will always be more important to the plot than others, and that's just a part of storytelling. But that doesn't mean that the writers should assume the character will be more important to their players, and that's just what they've done with Liara.

Thank you all for your comments so far, including the well wishes for my father in hospital. It is much appreciated.
Anyway the ME3 Thanemancers and the Citadel DLC summary so far:
(Chris Priestly wrote...
Citadel will take place anytime after the Citadel coup and before London on Earth.)
Thane does not die during the Citadel Coup, that officially ends just after we save the Councillors. Any justification that he has to die from the wound inflicted by Kai Leng, is metagaming based on the deathbed dialogue as it currently stands.
Could Bioware write into the game the standard loyalty/condition check that is given to other ME2 characters such as Grunt. Yes they could.
Would having Thane alive, possibly add more to the Conspiracy plotline that Reddit suggests ends at Prothean ruins that may be on Kahje? Yes, often team mates give us more data in conversations. Take Jaavik to Thessia for example.
Given that the DLC is stated as being set after the Citadel Coup, we can take it as read that no dialogue or interraction with Thane will be changed before the Coup. Thus Kirrahe has become irrelevent. Thane is wounded protecting the Salarian Councillor.
Would a Conspiracy Plotline that led to Kahje give a cure for Keprals en-route, most likely not. However, we thought the Genophage cure was years away.
Today Bioware have promised to let us know some more about the DLC, until they confirm that there is absolutely no Thane content, we can speculate.
Bioware said that it listened to the fans.
****
If you come over there please ignore the trolls. Don't give Ninjastan a reason to shut us down by going off topic, so concentrating on what could be added after the Coup would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Keeping hope alive.

But beyond Mars...Liara didn't add anything to the plot. Even being the Shadow Broker was useless.
BioWare's plot-critical party members tend to be necessary at crucial moments rather than throughout the game. For example, Alistair and Morrigan are very important at the beginning and end of Dragon Age, and have plot armor as a result. They don't really "add" anything to the main plot in between. Liara has crucial plot moments in ME1, between ME1 and 2, and at the beginning of ME3. She's arguably also important on Thessia, though I try to block out Thessia as much as possible
There's nothing wrong with that per se, or with her plot armor. Dragon Age did it just fine without blatant favoritism to any one LI. Mass Effect messed up by preferentially treating its plot-armored character.

I am not the creator of that video! All the glorious credit belongs to Mikkrobitti for that masterpiece.

He has not confirmed recording anything yet.
This is weird because other voice actors seem to have been only too happy to confirm participation. Notably Kaidans VA.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for that. He's posted about other Mass Effect related things. He does it all the time.

The fact that he hasn't confirmed being in the dlc is not a good sign.

I play SWTOR and the Agent's story is great writing. Hearing Hawk's voice but in that character is pure enjoyment. I try to remind myself that Bioware Austin is in charge of SWTOR unlike Mass Effect. Its difficult though. Bioware created Thane. Who's story should have gone to something more than just death. It was a journey that was never completed. Personally I believe it's because the writers didn't have the vision it took to give his story depth and completion. Instead they just ended it. An opportunity was lost. I think Mass Effect 3 itself was an example of an opportunity lost.Maera Imrov wrote...

I am unsure if Bioware can regain its former story telling ability. Being part of SWTOR makes me consider the possibility. Unfortunately, I, just as you, have been let down and lost hope. I know I will not be buying the upcoming DLC, I have yet to buy any of them. At this point, Mass Effect is done for me. As for Thane, well, his story has yet to be completed. I find solace in that aspect. Still love him. Would love to see something of him continue.

There's something really strange, they updated info on that Citadel DLC, look:
Will (CHARACTER NAME) be present only after a certain mission?
After completing the adventure portion of the Citadel DLC, you will have the chance to reconnect with old friends. Your friends will only appear once you have completed their content from the main game. For example, you will only be able to meet up with Jack after both completing Grissom Academy and talking to Jack in the bar at Purgatory.
Thane content is completed with his death. I don't get that. In other answer they said that we will be able to connect with love interests. So, a question: does this DLC involve necromancing? ;/ I'm pretty much sure there will be just a memorial of Thane somewhere, or even burial, which is even worse than the original content, since at least I could headcanon that Thane never really died, it's just what Shepard thought.
