BioWare team did everything that MP players have wished for. They seem to understand that their customers are important even when they have difficult ot sometimes a little crazy wishes. And our wish is not even close to crazy or difficult.

Yeah, I'm watching that too. It's too late for this anyway, because the DLC is done. We can only wait and when it's released, make sure... assuming that Thane will die... that this will not be forgotten.
There's something really strange, they updated info on that Citadel DLC, look:
Will (CHARACTER NAME) be present only after a certain mission?
After completing the adventure portion of the Citadel DLC, you will have the chance to reconnect with old friends. Your friends will only appear once you have completed their content from the main game. For example, you will only be able to meet up with Jack after both completing Grissom Academy and talking to Jack in the bar at Purgatory.
Thane content is completed with his death. I don't get that. In other answer they said that we will be able to connect with love interests. So, a question: does this DLC involve necromancing? ;/ I'm pretty much sure there will be just a memorial of Thane somewhere, or even burial, which is even worse than the original content, since at least I could headcanon that Thane never really died, it's just what Shepard thought.
This sounds bad for Jacob, as you can only meet him during the scientists mission. Unless his part is rewriten and reworked, he's still a cheater and hooked up with Brynn.

"So what did you get with Jack and Miranda?"
"Oh, it was so great, more content and talking and being with them on missions! Really cool! What did you get?"
"I basically watched Thane die a second time."
"Oh."
Okay, maybe not.
I'm still just assuming the worst. It'll make this week a lot easier.

But beyond Mars...Liara didn't add anything to the plot. Even being the Shadow Broker was useless.
BioWare's plot-critical party members tend to be necessary at crucial moments rather than throughout the game. For example, Alistair and Morrigan are very important at the beginning and end of Dragon Age, and have plot armor as a result. They don't really "add" anything to the main plot in between. Liara has crucial plot moments in ME1, between ME1 and 2, and at the beginning of ME3. She's arguably also important on Thessia, though I try to block out Thessia as much as possible
There's nothing wrong with that per se, or with her plot armor. Dragon Age did it just fine without blatant favoritism to any one LI. Mass Effect messed up by preferentially treating its plot-armored character.
Not arguing, although we could and I would still <3 ya, the only *only* reason Liara was on Thessia was because it was her home planet. Any character would have done. She didn't do anything incredibly cook or plot enhancing...that was Shepard unlocking the beacon. Shepard who also recongnised that there was a beacon. She didn't do anything...
DragonAge was a completely different genre compared to ME3. Ali and Morrigan made sense. Beyond being a writer's pet, most of Liara's plot armour does *not* make sense, IMO.
So...based on the actually necessity of Liara and Kai Lame's armour...Thane should also have some.

Plus Miranda is infertile. If they fix that and not Thane I won't be happy, and Liara has been given enough on this game.
Ieldra's done a better job addressing the "Miranda is infertile" thing than I ever could, but the whole "Artificial creation of life = bad" thread in Miranda's plotline is simplistic writing at best and just plain insulting at worst. That's something that I wouldn't mind retconned.
As for Liara, I'm always conflicted. I really like her as a character. I don't like the favoritism shown to her. Some characters will always be more important to the plot than others, and that's just a part of storytelling. But that doesn't mean that the writers should assume the character will be more important to their players, and that's just what they've done with Liara.
I still don't see why her situation should change, but Thane's doesn't. It would be unfair for Bioware to do this.
The person you mentioned and a few other Miranda fans have said that they think Thane should stay dead, and have called us whiny and entiled at times, so I don't have that much sympathy for them when it comes to Miranda's fertility.
I'm pretty indifferent to Liara. I know her favoritism is what rubs a lot of people the wrong way. They know she's so important because BW made her that way. I understand making a character important to the story in some cases, but I think they went overboard with Liara. I still don't know why they bothered making her the Shadow Broker only to have her do nothing with it in ME3.

I might not agree with Ieldra's opinion on Thane, but that doesn't make his analysis of Miranda's infertility plot thread less salient. And while it would be grossly unfair to fix some ME2 characters and not others in this final DLC, would it therefore be somehow better and more fair if no one from ME2 saw significant improvement in this DLC? I'm honestly not sure.

Fair enough. IMO genre is largely irrelevant when it comes to BioWare's basic storytelling formula, but we can agree to disagree as always

THERE IS NO THANE CONTENT IN THIS DLC.
Oh, and Sable? Do you want to put any money down on that?
Maybe I'll go for the Kip Thorne vs. Stephen Hawking bet approach: bet on something I don't want. If it comes to pass, I'll have the consolation of winning the bet. If I lose the bet, I probably will be too happy over new Thane content to be upset over the bet

As for Liara...she annoyed me in ME1, I warmed up to her in ME2 somewhat, but her story is indeed, all plot armor, no real plot to speak of!:/ Writer's pet, indeed!!
Myth!! Give Thane a kiss from me, hehe, still miss the lovely little guy!

From the sounds of it (with exception of Shepard taking the time to accessorize a new apartment on the Citadel while the Reapers are attacking the galaxy), everything should have been part of ME3 from the beginning anyway.
You're right, ME3 was released with a lot of unfinished business; the ending was just the tip of the iceberg. But there's no game that's ever released perfect, and IMO it's better to go back and try to fix the unfinished bits with DLC than to not address the problem at all. On the other hand, releasing an unfinished game for the sole purpose of getting people to BUY more DLC for the "complete" game is disingenuous.

Yeeeaah I don't want a date with Shep's bf's corpse...and a funeral no thanks that is not going to get me to buy the DLC.
I haven't fully given up on this yet but my hopes are as low as ever and I am doing the best I can to not stress myself over this (not easy).
If Liara's fans get blue babies and we get a funeral...this will be the first time a video game company has ever offended me and I will be careful next time on what games I get in the future and by whom.

And I won't expect them to have him fake his death either... as "corny" that may be, it's just... no, I can't see that. I really think this dlc won't help us at all.
I've been given points by someone who believes otherwise so I will buy the dlc if only for Garrus and Javik content. But if there's no Thane one... =/
They'll need to make DA3 near SPOTLESS and certainly character fair for me to even look at it.

The DA franchise IMO has always been much better about fairness. It has a very different design ethos when it comes to romance. DA implemented same-sex romances for both genders long before ME did, and when asked about the "unrealistic" choice of all LIs being bisexual in DA2, David Gaider basically said that parity is more important.

And yes, Thane does die AFTER the coup. I just finished it and the citadel is back to normal with Bailey telling me to go see Thane asap if I want to since he's in for surgery.
Question is, if he'll die off screen if you DON'T go see him. Or can you hold it for awhile and maybe visit him when the dlc's on.
As in fact visiting Thane isn't even a mission so techinally it can't run out of time... he'll probably be there until the citadel's taken to Earth.
But meh, none would wait for that long so the dlc probably won't affect whether you do that part before or not. =/

It was a betrayal to fans. Particularly the female ones since Thane was created specifically to appeal to females. And then killed off in 2 lines of dialog.
I don't really know what writers can do to fix this fact but I sure would appreciate some effort in addressing it. Pretending it doesn't exist just makes me angrier.

Oh I know that games aren't perfect when they're released, but most just need a few fixes here and there to tidy them up a bit and don't have to release a big DLC to do it (or at least, that's my experience with games). I agree that it's better to go back and try to fix it, even in this case with DLC. Though, unfortunately I just don't have faith that this DLC will fix it and make ME3 a playable game for me.
I doubt that BioWare would intentionally release an incomplete game with the intention of making us pay to complete it and I didn't mean to imply that, if I did. I just don't understand why they thought the treatment of the ME2 characters in ME3 was acceptable and I think it seemed pretty obvious for a lot of players that a lot was missing from the game. Though I suppose the same could be said for the ending...
Ugh, I don't know. Bottom line is, I have lost interest in ME3 and I'm not even slightly bothered that I haven't played the previous DLC's and so I don't think I will mind missing out on this one either. As I said though, I would like to be wrong.

The "WTF list" summed it up pretty well with how litlle they focused on Thane. I read the whole thing and I think you did Great, agree with the whole thing!
I feel as if they are acting like this DLC is the greatest thing since sliced bread...yet we dont' know wether we are going to get any content with Thane at all.....*sigh* this is going to be a loooong week.
