Bioware thinks everything they put out is gold and how dare we question them.
They still seem to be under the delusion that they can do no wrong.

Aye, that's true! And they don't like criticism, either, especially if people point out their errors to them, I've noticed from these fora!!

I actually am buying some Microsoft points in anticipation of the DLC...and buying Tombraider with  them, if said DLC  turns out to be the sad disappointment we all fear it will be!!

Can I just play devil's advocate for a second? We're all friends here, right?

Why shouldn't Bioware be proud of their work? I like to think that, for the most part, everyone there tries their best with whatever potentially odd guidance they receive from the top levels of the corporate beast... it's a nicer thought than imagining that the creators of my favourite games are all lazy and malicious. I just can't accept that.

And... how have we jumped ahead to discussing criticism (and their poor reception of it) when we haven't even received the DLC yet?

Like... how far ahead of ourselves are we already?

Not only is a DLC we haven't seen yet already going to be bad... but they're going to take our complaints about it poorly too?

I don't know... it just makes me really bummed out to see this kind of discussion when nothing has actually happened yet.

My comment on criticism was made with their reactions to the negative reviews and intense criticism fans made for ME3 back when it came out last year in mind, not the current dlc-I should have specified that!*hides* They had adopted a pretty much ' we did an amazing job and those complaining haven't grasped our artistic vision' attitude which had, back then, annoyed me greatly, got to admit!

Granted, of course they should feel accomplished, they have turned out some amazing games over the years, and ME3 was one of them in many respects;but it did have a lot of shortcomings and many many oversights that rubbed fans the wrong way-perhaps it's the fact we had been spoiled to expect the best from them there and the corporate beast you mention made that hard and impossible to some extent?-and they really hadn't taken the criticism for that very well, not well at all, actually!:(

For the upcoming DLC...I am waiting for it rather anxiously, as is everyone else, I believe; but this time, and for the first time, unlike past times, I am not going to buy it blind; the burns from ME3 sting a bit still...

There's pride and there's arrogance. They should be proud of what they've accomplished, but be willing to listen and fix their mistakes. So far, the feedback that we've received from them isn't particularly open or understanding. More like, ignored and/or mocked, and downright trolled.

I'm not speaking just of the upcoming DLC, but the entire history of Mass Effect 3, thus far. Expecting a different result from the same ol' actions is the definition of insanity, right? (And I try not to go *completely* insane)

I'm not really talking about the dlc. We will have to wait and see on that.
They do believe that everything they put out is gold, and that's just not true.
They should be proud of ME1 and 2. Those were great games and they gave me hours of enjoyment. ME3 was the biggest let down and their attitude about it, and towards this fanbase has been awful. It's hard for us to have something to be happy about when we have been dealing with this mess for about a year.

We have done everthing possible to show them that we care about this game and this character and they continue to ignore us. They pretty much bend over backwards for other fanbases, but they don't seem to even want to listen to us. Learning that this is oprobably the last dlc and that it may not contain any content for Thane has made some of us give up on the last bit of hope that we may have had.

I can agree on that hating the upcoming dlc already IS a bit overdone, we don't know what it's about yet, but many of us just assume the worst. It's safest and we've been burned a lot.

But Bioware do not respond well to criticism. A friend of mine still loves them and such but even he agrees that they've handled the criticism they got, very poorly. Shutting down whole forums, refuse to comment (none has really commented on the Thane mess beyond admitting to forgetting him) and seriously, have we heard anything from the top guy at BW about ME3 yet?

Half the rage about ME3 could have been skipped if the responses has been handled better than they were, I think.

Still, I wouldn't want to be in Bioware's shoes.

It's nice to see someone optimistic in this group. *sarcasm*

Trust me we would have more hope if we haven't been trolled, mocked, lied to for a whole year,we are just preparing for the worst.

I'm not gonna be all s***'s and giggles until I see if this DLC is what we have been fighting for,for a whole year.
No offense but we have been trolled all year and have gotten no support from BW,I'm not saying all their games and DLC's are horrible but I'm just trying as are the others not to put our hopes up so much so we can be stabbed in the back...again.

There is still hope in us....it's just very small

EDIT: If I sound rude I dont' mean to be it's just with what news we have gotten the past 5 days have not been...good?promising? Posted Image

Really? How can I be so optimistic if they will even confirm Steve but will not even discuss Thane?

edit:  and yes, we are all friends here.

Glad that some of you ladies enjoyed the CS :)

I had fun writing, it, actually. Despite how depressingly Thane was handled in ME3.

@RShara -- I just got done reading through your fic for a second time.  You really did leave off in the most inconvenient place, grrr.  I want to know how the story ends, lol!

@ElanaS. -- I get what you are saying.  And, you are right in the sense that it doesn't pay to get all worked up about it when the DLC hasn't been released yet.  Many of the ladies here are just making an "educated guess" regarding content, based upon BW's previous actions.  It's difficult to be optimistic with how things have gone down since the release of ME3.

It still makes no sense not to confirm Thane (and Jacob and Samara) when you're confirming other characters.

Wouldn't revealing Steve and Sam are in the DLC be spoilery?

They're not going to get money from Thane/Jacob/Samara fans when it's reveal they're not in the DLC. They'll get it for everyone else, so there's no need to be all hush hush about it.

If they hadn't trolled the Thane and Jacob fans hard they might have gotten so good faith? Now? I don't blame people for being pessimistic. I love Garrus, and I'm considering a run for him, but that's it. I'm officially done with the series.
