So, I've been wondering. If or when this DLC doesn't present a chance to save Thane, what are you guys going to do? Will you be done with the series and/or with BW?

I'm primarily a Garrus romancer who took up Thane and Jacob's causes because I liked both characters in ME2 even if I didn't romance them.  TBH I do have one thing to look forward to for ME3 after Citadel, which is the expanded 3rd iteration of MEHEM.  After that, I'll be done.  I might go through the series again with my canon Shep and Garrus once, but then I'll shelve it for good.  I'll still hang around the thread, though.  It's not like they moderate this forum anymore, so we can be as OT as we want.  And I <3 you guys.

As for BioWare, I honestly love Dragon Age and its development team.  I've enjoyed both games, warts and all, and the dev team over there have been really good about showing us their thought process and reasoning for doing what they do.  So I'm eagerly anticipating DA3.  ME3 taught me a lesson about preordering in general, but I'll probably still get DA3 when it comes out.  I just won't walk into it blind.

This was supposedly posted in the Cortez group by Dusy:

"Well, obviously we can't have zombie-Thane running around, but there is a small amount of content that only Thane romancers will see."

Two issues with this:

-First of all, why was this posted to the Cortez group and not a place where Thanemancers could see it.
-Secondly, small amount of content? So a holovid? If that's it why Liara fans gets kids that just shows BW unequal treatment of characters.

As for sticking around? I might lurk from time to time after the DLC, but I got other stuff to put my attention to. Like games that actually treat me right.

Because he was talking to me and I hadn't heard back whether I could bring it to the group.

Wish I could think like that.

I loved ME1 and ME2.
(I love DA1 and DA2)

The number 3 along with Bioware... urgh.

DA3 is my last hope regarding Bioware. But yeah... no pre order and reviews (reliable ones) first.

I feel the need for a bit of clarification, and hopefully, @mnomaha won't be upset with me. Figured since the cat is out of the bag, I might as well.....

The quote found in the Cortez group, was based on an exchange between @mnomaha and Dusty (btw, she hangs out in the Cortez group, so that is the reasons for this showing up there). It looks as though @mnomaha's part of the convo was not posted. In a nutshell though, Dusty was responding to Shell's concerns relating to JM's tweets about Thane's role in the DLC is "Spoilery". I will let Shell post the convo, if she so chooses.

It of course, does not bode well for Thane fans. As stated earlier, I know what would get me to buy the DLC (and any other ME related products), and this will probably not be it. Anyway....have fun with MP guys. I have never played MP once, and doubt I ever will....and shortly, I won't be able to....*me3 outsider art project*......LOL XD

Thanks Coldi, not upset with you at all. :)

Sad thing, this part is stolen from Patrick's joke when he was asked what content will be there with dead Wrex.

DA2, TOR, and ME3 are the games most people point to as failures on BioWare's part.  I really enjoyed both DA2 and TOR; despite their clearly rushed natures and design flaws, there were good stories and some really cool characters buried underneath the mediocre mechanics.  More importantly, I had fun playing those games.

ME3 was the only truly disappointing one to me, but that was partially my fault.  I read nothing that could spoil ME3 for me: no previews, no demo, no reviews.  Had I done even the slightest bit of homework, I probably would've been tipped off that this was not the game I'd hoped it to be.  Ah well.  Live and learn.

Mnomaha, I was more questioning why it takes this being asked in another characters group instead of being in a place where other fans could see it.

I also don't understand why that lady couldn't say this instead of the hope giving line "complicated and spoilery".

Now when he puts like that...it could be either

A.) Only femshep who romances Thane get's a choice to save Thane

or

B.) We're screwed....again.

*sighs* sorry this is...all of this is crazy I don't know wether to call this good news or bad news.

And if we get screwed over again,I don't know if I'll be around for long depends on how much this is gonna depress me lol,but I will tell you one thing i'm taking my money else where and BW can kiss it!

@Vlk3 the only reason they killed thane without choice was money, they were chasing profits at the expense of the integrity of their story - it really is utterly pathetic and shameful - I'm still embarrassed for them. Hence my about turn in my relationship with them as a consumer.

If I like a company I will go out of my way support them, I'll pre-order collectors editions, all dlc and also merchandise and comics. If a company ****s me over I do the opposite because money is all they understand.

If BW had just produced a subpar game I would have been disappointed but not angry, but they sucked me into a trilogy let me mould my shepards stories only to fail deliver in the final instalment because they got too greedy. I paid as much for the games as a Liara fan.

They made a decision to kill thane to save money
They made a decision to have jacob cheat to save money
They made a decision to create diana allers to grease the palms of IGN
They made a decision to over use autodialog to save money

They became corporate wh*res
They have no honour.

Aye, what I thought as well; that reference to Thane pretty much indicates there's nothing we can do; unless, of course, the Dev who commented used it a bit unfortunately or without meaning that...Sigh, wonder if I dare get any hopes up at this point!:(

The Imperial Agent's plotline alone validated the entirity of TOR's purchase cost for me. And I'm sitting on a CE, so that was pricey. :P Whatever else Bioware has failed at recently, the writing in that plotline was absolutely sterling. And just like Thane's writer, the writer of that plotline is gone, so I fear for it's fate once the actual story expansions come. Sith Warrior played Light Side was also amazing, and I duoed my Sage up with a Knight. Sage was dull but Knight was also very good.

That said, I'm in the boat of many others. Definitely no preorders of Bioware products ever again. And if the normal, everyday gamer (not lololpaid critic) reviews of DA3 are abysmal, I'll be passing on it entirely. I'm actualy glad though, that this comment about a 'small amount' of content has come to light now. As I said a few pages back, I'd vanished for a half-year, and knowing that there was one final DLC coming when I bothered to check back was keeping me from boxing up this 'stage' of my life entirely. Now, that's done. I don't take any pleasure in it, but I can now put away the dashed hopes and dreams I had for my canon Shep and let this rotting corpse go.

I might still pop in, well I *know* I will, around DA3 launch time, as I will have to get the pulse of the average gamer about it. I don't trust the paid critics any further than I can throw them, especially after the debacle with ME3. Sorry it's turned out this way ladies and gents. Even if I hated the endings, I would have been mollified to have Thane's story resolve decently, but it seems we're denied even that.

I have a question for everyone. Does friendship Shep receive a letter from Thane if he/she skips his death scene?

I've seen every storyline except the Smuggler and Trooper on the Republic side.  My BFF and I played TOR tandem.  I actually liked most of the stories; the Bounty Hunter was a bit meh but had some great moments and my favorite supporting cast.  The Sith Inquisitor was hands down my favorite; my Inquisitor was flouncey and arrogant and mouthy, and it was perfect.  I played a Dark Side Jedi Knight, and that one was just heartbreaking.

They are already starting in that other thread. I get so tired of having the same argument over and over again with these people.

I just can't...

I do think that Thane has more conversations. Garrus did get shortchanged there.

But Jacob and Thane got taken away as LIs while broShep kept his. That's not equalizing conent, especially when it only happens to femShep.

Dusty replied in t he Thanemancers thread in the main forums.

No
Thane may have gotten more than Garrus and Tali, but not Miranda or Jacob. They are with you from the beginning. That guy is smoking something.

I'm just happy to see someone blue respond to anything with Thane, it's a bloody shock.

I'm just too nice for my own good, though. Besides, he's not responsible for Thane's writing... I think.
