Sable my dear I love ya, and I actually agree to a certain extent with what you said....defending Dusty's encouragement of us buying the DLC for ourselves, instead of relying on YT. Problem for at least some of us is....there was no "connection" anymore. I have said this more than once, even BEFORE seeing Thane in Huerta's, I was disconnected from my Shepard. Enough autodialogue, and MY favorite middle option gone (yup, I am a diehard Paragade/Renegon, and often used the neutral option. I called it the "Just the facts, maam" dialogue option....lol), along with glitches/bugs, and some pretty cheesy moments, I was no longer immersed. When I got to Huerta and started my chat with Thane, I nearly dropped my controller in disbelief. If I had even a shred of immersion left, it was gone with those few minutes of dialogue. Boom! Cate Shepard was no more, and I couldn't care less about the rest of the story. I played for only about 30-40 minutes longer, and said 'enough'.
So how can I "reconnect" or reimmerse myself in a character and plot line, that I feel that detatched from to begin with? The only way I was ever going to regain a connection to this game, was taking my Evan Shepard into the game (the closest Shep I have that matches their "canon" Shep.....lol), and using whatever improvements the DLC could provide to become immersed....as much as I could be. But alas, the DLC will not provide the needed ingredients for me to do so, so.......no buy. If I am proven wrong, I will gladly eat crow, but we all know that is false hope.
So, back to grinding in the Everfall. Weeeeeeeeee!
