uhm... about the bomb threat, was it this? :S (was a reply to one of my
posts on tumblr) i thought it was obviously just a manner of speech and
not serious at all..

http://andromedashep...-a-favor-and-go

I wouldn't really take that "threat" serious... I've seen plenty of those things in other games and even movies. It's sad and pathetic but not what I would call a legitimate threat.

Darnit, I always forget to use a quote box... don't know how to edit that in now... as an actual quote lol.

That was a poor choice of words but that wasn't a threat. This is what the big deal was over? Okay that's just starting drama for the sake of drama.

Whatever.

That's it. I'm out. No way I'm stepping out in the offical forums again. I've had my say in a response to a dev, that's about all I can do. BSN themselves are frigging high on not listening to us.

I'm stick and tired of the... frigging bullying, I had that happened to me several times RL, I don't want it here too.

Judgning the whole fanbase because of ONE threat? Yeah, that's mature. Seriously. From now on I'll consider all Tali fans absolute creeps! Is that how it's supposed to go?

Man I LOVE the gaming community and where they are going!!

I really wish people would realize, taking away the Thane issues, is that BW has introduced and encourage unequal treatment of fanbases. And it's a bad precedent.

-Femshep has two hetero LIs taken away without anything to replace them. BroShep keeps his.
-Protests by fans of LIs that were taken away are belittled and ignored. Fans of broShep's LIs that didn't get what they want are praised and encouraged.
-Fans of taken femShep LIs won't get any content compared to what broShep LI's get.

This is the true issue. People should be scared that this unequal treatment could happen to a character they like. THis isn't about Thane dying or Jacob being a cheater, it's about femShep being left in the lurch.

Yeah, I hate it how they make excuses like "Thane was already dying and Jacob was a side switcher, so this has nothing to do with genders." Yes it has. To them, femShep's LIs weren't worth paying attention to. They didn't bother to think about how female players would feel about getting two of their LIs removed. And when we protest, they only make poor excuses instead of even apologizing.

Was there ever any kind of group specifically protesting the gender inequalities in ME3? I feel like, perhaps something like that would have pulled out some kind of answer from BW. No one wants to be called / seen as sexist. Of course, Cosmic Love and most likely several other pages have brought up femShep's bad treatment, but maybe that's something that should have been highlighted even more? On the other hand... after all that protesting about Thane and Jacob... I don't know how BW can unsee that female players are the ones getting the shortest end of the stick. I don't know how they can NOT see this game as sexist. And not just because of Thane and Jacob; there's also Kaidan blaming femShep for cheating on him.

This is a fair point, but to play devil's advocate again, would it therefore be better if the Citadel DLC addressed none of the inequities that plagued the ME2 LIs as a whole? Miranda and Jack, while not mistreated as badly, certainly got the short end of the stick as well.  Ashley's ME3 content was plagued with bugs and cuts that amounted to character assassination.  Is it somehow more equitable if none of the LIs who were lacking get anything out of Citadel?

While I'm glad that this DLC brings something new to at least some of the romances, I still feel that Thane and Jacob should have been the first priority. They were the only ones that really got shafted, meaning that they didn't even count as romances. I still find it hard to believe that BW would continue its unequal treatment and, instead of focusing on the two biggest problems, just gave even more to those who already had it better than us. (Though we can't be sure what kind of content Jacob will be having, if he'll have, so...) I'm not saying that if I can't get more time with my LI, then neither should anyone else, or that there's nothing wrong with the other existing romances -- I just think BW totally messed up with the priorities in this DLC. At this point I'd be perfectly alright with having, say, Jack-like Thane romance. A side mission, a date, and a non-mandatory death. Yet we won't be having even that.

Me too. And I mean it. I don't want to see the bone they throw us in this DLC, so what I must do right now is avoid BSN and anything Mass Effect Related. I'll be playing ME3 MP propably, but I don't know when will I come back here.

I will need to hide posts from SaveThane on Facebook as well, since I really don't want to know what's in the DLC. Propably I will learn about it anyway, but right now I just need to escape from here. I have enough of all the insults others throw at us, the cold treatment they give to Thane fans and all that "Thanemancers are crazy whiners" attitude.

I will miss you all very much and propably I'll be back because of you, but right now I need a break. I need to look at it all from the distance.

I wish you all the best, dear sihas and friends :)

PS. Thane will always be alive in my headcanon, which I truly believe is more rational and probable than what they have shown us in this game.

Life goes on... So too will Thane if you let him.

Me. I am for going back to SWTOR. I have a raid planned. Actually I have raids every weekend. XD

I still love Thane. :)

Will wander in and out... intervals will get longer. Eventually it will end. For right now. Peace.

And Thane is alive in my headcanon, too. His treatment in ME3 is so ridiculous it's not even difficult to headcanon him a more plausible fate.

@Thrazesul You leaving, too? If so, I wish all the best for you and hope you'll come back. =)

Yeah, Dusty was under no obligation to step into a minefield :D  He does have kind of a point about the YouTube thing; it is very different watching someone else play vs. playing yourself.  The emotions, the connection, everything other than the pictures on your screen is different.  But...still gonna wait for fan review on this DLC.

As for the bomb threat, crap like this and the outpour of Fan Dumb over Jennifer Hepler's comments are why devs stop posting, talking, and interacting with the fandom.  And for good reason.

Oh same here!! I went and just bought my Microsoft points a few moments ago,  they're in my hands and will be in my console later on...hoping there'll be reason to buy this DLC, I really WANT there to be-as do we all, I believe! But not buying till I hear what, if anything, there is in there in terms of Thane; my other Shepard romanced Garrus in ME2 and it might be worth buying this dlc for him, if there is some interesting content, but again...will wait and see!:(

No comment on  the so-called 'bomb threat', especially as it seems to have been no more than hot air-at best!:/

I seem to have lost the thread growing since last night again, hehe, too; I saw some more incredible art here-and a cake!!:P(Cake's always nice, yes, it is, preciouses!!^_^)

Sure, Miri, Jack, and Ash needed more content. But like others said Thane and Jacob needed it also and more of it since they were taken away as LIs.

This DLC should have fixed all issues with the LIs. Instead it promotes unequal treatment. And while I sympathieze with Miri/Jack/Ash, I'm not totally happy they'll get stuff while Thane and Jacob fans were just expected to get over it. At least their LI didn't forcibily die/cheat on him.

I'm not leaving, but the only places on BSN I'll visit for now is this thread and the MP section. At least there you won't get hammered on for liking the wrong characters.

Can't believe the MP fanbase is more mature than the... SP one.

Can't believe either that Bioware has gone down to bullying, along with BSN. They are offically worse than the WoW comunity now and that's saying something.

So they retweet that tumbler were Thane should say dead? The heck?

Now I know there isn't anything meaningful in the this DLC. I'm done with the company.

ETA: I'm not a conspricy theorist, but the retweets and stuff make me think they're just preparing to accept all the praise for the fans they want and nullify the rest.

Since Jacob fans were pretty much run off the boards, Thane's are the only vocal ones left. They knew that the fans would be upset with them not putting in any decent content as compared to the others.

So they leak the news about  the DLC is after the coup. Fans get upset. Then they release (when they could have confirmed it from the start) that Thane is getting small content. Now a fanbse is ticked.

Now I don't know if someone did a bomb threat or not was a Thane fan, but if they put it out there like that, suddenly the fanbase isn't sympathetic anymore. They can say "Well with how Thane's fans are, why would we give them anything?" despite evidence to the contrary. Retweet Thane must die tumblers and now Thane fans are on the outside looking in. BW can bask in the glow of Liara fans getting their children while Thane fan protest are ignored.

...I really hope I'm wrong.

I'd like to respond to this, but I'm afraid what I'd like to say would just make the risk bigger for this thread to get locked down. I'm surprised they haven't already since we're just ungrateful, entitled whiners who wanted not only an option but femshep to get some flipping equality.

I remember reading that blog (that was retweeted), and nothing in it successfully defends Thane's treatment in me3. I will always see Thane's lack of character arc, continuity and presentation, as lackluster at best, and abysmal at worst. The problem is, that this is a nonstarter issue. BW made what they did; this is fact. SUBJECTIVELY, I find it as I stated above - banal to downright horrid - but it doesn't matter. We can complain about it, which we have, and until now, this was our only real course of action in hopes that something might be improved upon. We presented our reasoning for how/why we saw and felt things differently. Whether some people from BW took this to heart or not, nothing was added or changed.

So what does this all mean? Nothing. We still complain, which I think most of us are coming to that realization on the futility of it, but at this point it is more a case of "airing grievances" and "venting". But the fact is, it really doesn't matter anymore. This saga is done. NOW we are left with those that wish to challenge this nonstarter, and they are being.....ridiculous. Not because they believe in something else, and SUBJECTIVELY like something we don't. No, it is ridiculous because there is absolutely no reason to defend their subjective tastes and preferences....this doesn't mean they don't have the right to do so, but there is no point to it. What is in the game, works for them. Let me repeat; it is already IN THE GAME. They have no need to argue the point, and eventually it feels like a worthless pissing match, and eggs on those that feel the need to be hurtful (on either side). BW has not helped the situation by tweeting such things, but then BW is made of people. People can be great, and they can kind of "suck". Just like everywhere.

The end result of this is, a lot of yelling, and too many hurt feelings. I would never wish to tell somebody on a forum 'what to do', but I feel safe on 'suggesting'. Perhaps we need to stop posting on these inflammatory threads. Some of you have already come to this conclusion. It is truly sad that some of you feel the need to fully distance yourselves from the community, but I do understand. I am more than happy to listen to any venting that anyone wishes to do, and some of you bringing up the larger issue of female inequality in this game, are right to do so. But the other forum threads are in a state of perpetual brow-beating, and nothing good will come of them now.

I have always considered myself a bit silly (ok, that is an understatement...I'm a flat out dork), and I prided myself on trying to find some kind of jocularity in the face of cynisism and derision, but this whole affair has sadden me to the point of 'bad posture'....no really, I'm starting to feel like Eeyore. BUT! I say, no more! I too have no intention of continuing with a debate that is not a debate, with some folks who have decided that because we complained (such hypocracies when you think of how many of them fall into the anti-ender groups), we are whiney, unreasonable, and in some cases, crazy. I have no time for people such as this, and I will not give them any more of it.

So here I stay....in the Thane thread. Jumping occasionally over to the Fenris thread, or some of the old DAO threads. I will vote my opinion with my wallet, and let the chips fall where they may. I adore all of you, and find you all funny, engaging, smart and creative. I hope to be able to continue a raport with this group, but should some of us wander away for a while, let us all be glad to have met, and hope to meet yet again someday. I too will find myself spending less time on the BSN, but I enjoy all of your company too much....so why would I leave. :D <3

Okay while I'm writing this and listening to Annie Lennox's "Why" song lol and other sad songs..

I just want to say I have enjoyed talking with you all and hope and pray for the best for you all,I'm not exactly leaving just yet I will be around till tuesday after that I don't know it depends.

We have nothing to be ashamed of with what we have been fighting for and our opinions. We fought a good fight but we didn't exactly lose we still have Thane in our thoughts and on our desk ;D

How Thane died in ME3 was beyond horrible but that was BioWares thoughts not ours we can still keep him living by our own.

I know with what is coming tuesday it pretty much isn't gonna be good and if it is as expected after that Buttware has lost a customer (this customer) and will lose others as well I'm sure....they have shown themselves as sexist, bullies, and selfish! I will not give anymore money to a compay like that. They will suffer but probably not as much as we want cause they have customers who suck on Buttware's ****** and would jump off a cliff if Buttware told them too.

Anyway I need(ed) to vent and it seems this is the only place to do it,I try to talk to others about it but they just look at me weird...and I don't like to bottle up my anger I start think bad things about others especially the Good LORD (which I rarely ever do) who has done so much for my ill and sick self ever since I was born.....forgive me LORD...

Anyways I don't know how people like the ones that argue with us and tell us to "deal with it" or "you knew he was dying" ...these selfish hypocritical people can look themselves in the mirror? They practicly stepped all over our hopes and never looked at both sides...believe me I know I'm not pefect but I don't go around stepping on peoples hopes and dreams that is beyond evil.

*sigh* Thane is mostly the reason why I came here..nobody else not even Garrus who is my second favorite no offense to you garrusmancers...I'll stick around for awhile but eventually I won't be coming over here anymore.

You guys are awesome you all are the light of this dark and evil place! ♥

Love you all and GOD Bless you! ♥

P.S Luckily I have a sweet persian cat who can tell I'm depressed and licks my face like crazy lol ^^

I think I'll just stay here since nobody knows how to listen in the other thread. I've already held myself accountable for falling for Marzipan's trick and I'm pretty sure I apologised. However, people keep going on and on about something I doubt EVER F*CKING EXISTED.

So, I'm out for a few days while the reading inclined *you know who you are* debate when a non-existent bomb thread came from a Thanemancer.

I'll be on facebook or playing a real game.

Coldi, you said it.

I've always been pretty insistent (even obnoxiously so :P) about the need to be courteous, even if others are not.  Well, when a conversation deteriorates so low that courtesy is no longer a given, it's not a conversation worth having.  That's pretty much that.  We've said our piece, BioWare doesn't like it.

I hope folks at least stick around here even if you're cutting down on your general forum time.  I like y'all.  And it's not like they moderate the ME2 forums anymore, so we can just hang out and be as OT as we like.

Tempted to go and check but... what's the point. They're all probably so certain that we're all guilty of it suddenly... and I really don't need that aggravation anyway.

Borderline harassment.

To those leaving, good luck wherever you go! We did our best. Hopefully no other character will ever get that bad a treatment again. One can hope..

I'm probably not going to be around much anymore... not that I post much anyway. I can't put into words how disappointed I am with BioWare. Especially with the way they treat their fans. It seems they automatically assume that a Thane fan is going to cause trouble and should be disregarded or trolled. They just seem to have an unfriendly attitude when interacting with us, even without good reason.

As I've said before, from the sounds of it, there's not going to be anything in the DLC that will change ME3 and make it playable for me - it's not going to fix the mess that was made of Thane's character before the coup or add other conversations/interaction with him and I don't think adding anything after his death is going to make up for that. I'm probably not going to bother watching it on youtube and will probably avoid the forums for a while because I just don't want to face more disappointment right now. When the DLC does come out and anyone in here decides to watch/try it - please send me a pm if you think I am wrong!

Yeah, I bugged out of the Story forum thread when it got ugly. jtav and I were having a nice chat, but the rest has sort of gone downhill. There's nothing really to be had there any more.

@BeanieBat: I will possibly be getting the DLC. Though I'm going to finish Spec Ops: The Line first if it kills me, which it might just do. If you guys want me to do a DLC review, I will happily do so when I get around to it. I can even play through the Thane content if you send me savegames.

I am also going to wait to see what people will say about the dlc before I buy it-if I buy it, that is; like Beanie, I can't really handle more heartache at the moment; and I don't really want to endorse BW at this point, not without good reason to...

Sigh, wouldn't it be cool and utterly unexpected if BW surprised us-in an awesome way- come Tuesday? I know, not much chance of that happening, but just saying!:/

I never really popped in either one.

I was in the Citadel DLC thread for a little while the first couple days, and at that point, folks were still being pretty nice to each other. The folks who were most upset were the ones wanting post-ending DLC. Other than that, reception at first was very positive, and were plenty of people advocating for Thane, Jacob, and Samara.

The Thanemancer Citadel DLC thread I never bothered to go in to. Why? Because every Thane thread outside of the C&R forum ends up being a pissing match between Thane supporters and the trolls. There is no constructive dialogue to be had, which makes it an utter waste of time in my book.

At least it's all almost over. As horrible as it will be, I'm sure.

Ah, RShara, if only your words made a difference to them.

At any rate, I will be exiting the building, as well. Probably some time in the next weekish, as folks wrap up their thoughts in the Romance DLC thread. The blog is wrapping up on Tuesday.

Of course this assumes that the DLC goes about how I think it will go. If it does, I will no longer purchase any BW or EA products, including DA:I, which a small part of me was actually thinking about buying. But, if things go down like I expect, BW/EA will have lost my business permanently. If I could only talk my husband out of his monthly TOR subscription....

That being said, as much as I love talking with all you lovely ladies here, the only way I'll be able to get this very, very foul taste out of my mouth will be to no longer hang out here (which is what BW wants anyway). In addition, if I'm not purchasing any new BW products, then there will be no reason to log in to register them, download DLC, etc.

So....yeah.
