I don't think Thane could NOT be B.A. even if he tried.

Shepard must've been the boom mike guy in the Blur trailer because all I saw was Thane showing everyone how it's done.  Upstaged, Sheploo, upstaged.

I think my own Shepard would quietly keep an eye out for Kolyat.  Not spying or the like, more keeping tabs and staying informed of his actions / whereabouts.  Thane would know that Shepard would do such a thing also.  I can see resentment from Kolyat for Thane's involvment with Shepard :

possibly he feels Thane should still be faithful to Irikah since that is his mother

possibly he feels that since Thane has now decided to show up in his life he should get him all to himself

and / or possibly the fact that Shepard aimed a gun at him, shot a rather nice looking lamp and punched him in the face in the middle of a horribly concieved assassination attempt

or maybe since Shepard's chin isn't all that huge Kolyat might not feel threatened and be quite okay with it all

I don't imagine Shepard, Thane and Kolyat will be sharing family game night any time soon, but I can see grudging acceptance at some point down the road from Kolyat espcially since I don't see Thane and Shepard's feelings for eachother changing for any reason except to possibly grow stronger in the face of what is to come not  only with the Reapers but with Thane's illness and its progression.

Thane could be brushing his teeth and look BA.

... brushing those perfect teeth, with those delicious lips, no shirt on ... looking sleepy ... then giving that half smile he does with that whole, "It's a start" line ...

.giggity.

And a perfect gentleman in the best way, not in a sociopathic way. And with a bit of a playful side, love that.

So gals (and guys), I gotta question for y'all, Do you think that curing Thane will come at some sort of price/consequence(s)?

You know 'cause nothin' that good ever comes cheap, or free for that matter.Posted Image

If so what are your thoughts as to what that price/consequence(s) could possibly be?

If you mean the price we have to pay to keep Ali alive, well, I'm a little biased, and as a hopeless romantic who despises sad endings, will do whatever it takes to keep a lover alive, in video games, of course ;)

For instance, my city elf, happened to end up being best friends with Morrigan, so it seemed like doing her a bit of a favor,a nd a necessary sacrifice to keep both her and Alistair alive.

As for Thane, I have no possible idea what twist they could possibly throw in here to make a sacrifice for a Thane cure. Putting him in Cryo-stasis until a Cure is found? Choosing between him and his som? Idk . . . we'd have to see what this could be, but at this point, my FemShep would be willing to do almost anything . . .

With all the interest surrounding LI polls for both male/female players, I figured I'd do the same for Shepard's closest friends. Being limited to 20 options, I had to make choices. I settled for player gender/closest friend of your Shepard.

I know a lot of players will say "My Shep's best friend IS his/her LI..." but that's not the purpose of this poll. We want to know which characters are most appealing as best friends to Shepard.

Who's gonna play card or share a drink with him/her? Who's gonna tease him/her for daring to drink rynchol in the Dark Star and passing out on the washroom floor? Who's gonna be the one taking the bullet for him/her so he can return to the Normandy and shag his/her LI silly?

Comments are most welcome. Poll can be found at http://social.biowar...664/polls/3602/

My speculation is that the cure will involve the Shadow Broker. There're hints about SB from Liara and Thane both (SB gave the killers the info on his identity). A choice between saving your LI in some way, and killing the SB seems right down ME's alley.

Yes, I too was thinking there may be a choice somewhere along the lines, though I have no idea as to what that choice could possibly be or involve, but if it is as hard to make as it was between Ash and Kaidan I will cry. Posted Image

Liara finds out who the SB is. Goes after him/her/it/they. Gets in trouble/asks Shepard to help. SB has critical info on Alliance/Cerberus/hanar/drell/Reapers. Offers it in exchange for getting away or sets double-bind so you can ONLY go after one or the other (a la Vido+Zaeed).

Choice results in (depending on who your LI is, and what his/her problem is) death/loss of loyalty/leaving.

If the choice is between saving Liara and Thane it will be an easy one for me. :D

Even though I think Shepard should have to work to get Thane cured, I think it is dumb if Shepard has to sacrifice something really big for Thane that a Shepard with any other LI wouldn't have to sacrifice. Then again, there are players that want to save him even without him being their Shep's LI.

And that "kill the bad guy or save somebody and let the bad guy escape" deal has already been done with Zaeed's mission and Bring Down the Sky.

I'm not a huge fan of the save the LI or save the bus full of people scenario.

I could see Thane having treatment that makes it livable longer, though. Get to work, Mordin!

This is where having more than one interest hurts you rather than helps you.  With the Virmire decision, I was lucky to not like Ash enough to care whether she lived or died, and I love Kai so much, it was easy.  But if BW makes me choose between Liara and Thane, that game may never get finished.  Or Thane and Kaidan? Idk. . .  that would be such an awful decision to make :(

Very true.  It depends on whether BW wants to repeat or not :)

Alternately, Mordin is certainly a possibility that comes up.  He can cure a Collector plague in weeks, and invent shielding to protect from their swarms.  And works on a massive *genetic* project that affected the entire krogan population.  Setup, yes? :wizard:

Yeah, I'd throw myself in to save any of the LI, really, but particularly Thane. My team, my choice, sorry Thane, you gotta LIVE.

I almost wouldn't mind it if there was some drell heaven cutscene afterward with Shepard and Thane enjoying their permanent vacation... But that's too silly. :P
