I did.  He is a sexy bastard, and Miranda is hands-down my favorite romance for ManShep, and one of my favorite characters overall.

Hopping over to the external forum now to look at the modding thread.  I should clarify, though, I'm really not a tech person.  I followed the technical development of MEHEM because I was curious, but the most I've ever done in ME is mess about with .bin files, the cheat console, and GIbbed.

Yep, it's all good.  I  know Ren has done some modding, but she's the only one that I  know of.

We still need your opinion, Beanie.

People's inputs will determine how this mod will work, and I don't want to speak for everyone.  This mod should appeal to as many Thanemancers as possible, so we need to hear your opinions on how you want it to work.

The more input, the better.

^Agreed. More ideas = More scenario options for modders to pick from.

Sure, some things may be impossible to implement in a mod, but having multiple ideas to draw inspiration from the better. Perhaps only certain portions of an idea can be implemented (or perhaps in another way than the original suggestion), but complementing that with portions from another idea will complete the puzzle.

Right.   And at this point, what we might be talking about is TWO  mods.

I PMd MrFob with a specific set of ideas to basically incorporate Thane into MEHEM, which, also meant that he had to be alive at the end of the game. This meant that at minimum Thane had to be kept from fighting Leng and the death scene needed to be avoided -- as the simplest ways to deal with this issue. If we can come up with other possible ways to deal with the issue, then that is great, as well.

And, I do think there are other improvements that can be made.  For example, like Ren said, substituting some CItadel dialogue for when Shep first meets Thane in the hospital, the addition of emails throughout to game to enrich the romance and insert cure dialogue, and other things.  These are things that are really romance-specific, and not in the scope of what MrFob would work on, so hopefully, some of the other more knowledgeable folks around here will have some ideas on that front, as well.

I let RL bog me down, and that tends to make me scrutinize...well, everything! Thane's content in the game and DLC pulled the "short straw". OH! And don't you DARE feel guilty for enjoying your "boys" in ME. You paid for it, you should relish it. Period.

This.  It's a game, it's supposed to be fun.  And if you can have fun with it, more power to you.  I'm very much enjoying Garrus and Miranda.

Just a heads-up: I'm gonna be out of touch for a few days while I get caught up on some RL deadlines.  

Here's my quick 2 cents on the Thane mod:  I think it's better to avoid the Kai Leng fight and Thane death scene altogether since those come with some bad memories.  As for the ending slide, the latest version of MEHEM added a slide with Bailey, Aria, and the rebuilt Citadel as a backdrop.  It'd be very easy to do a slide with the same backdrop, except with Thane in the foreground and the Normandy coming into dock like in Miri's slide.

I have posted my thoughts about "Thane HEM" in that thread. The easiest way to mod the game without having to rewrite lots of dialogues and scripts is to remove Thane from the Citadel altogether while confirming he's alive through various emails.

PLEASE post this stuff on the Thane Mod thread I have up in the new forum (ME3 Section).

I have posted oodles of information, and very, very few people have taken the time to post a reply.  It is simply not conducive to discuss details of this project in this thread or others on the BSN.  It needs it's own dedicated thread, and keeping it away from the prying eyes of trolls is a plus, as well.

This is the only way that we might get anything even remotely close to what we wanted to see in ME3. And after talking to Sable and Coldi, I decided to talk to MrFob to figure out what we could get to happen.

Please take the time to post your ideas, answer the questions MrFob is asking of us, and let us know how you can contribute to the project.

Also, if anyone chats with Renmiri outside of BSN, please let her know that since she has done some ME3 modding, her input is going to be very valuable. Anyone else who has built mods for ME3, PLEASE provide us with your input and let us know how you can help.

So yeah, i figured out what Mr Fob was al about. So all I can say is: woohoo!

Is it okay to introduce non-trolling blokes to that forum? Cause I think there's one who might be of big use to this mod, and has been one of our greatest supporters over on DA.

Also, putting this out right now: in regards to emails and pms: I want to write them. Really. I really really really want to write them and after all the gods awful research I did for the essay I'm pretty sure I've gotten Thane's and Kolyat's characters down pat for both Thane's Loyal Arc and Romance Arc. I mean, I'll be writing them anyway, it's just a matter of when I'll write them: before I edit three full length fics for Moira, Roark and Joe, during editing, or after editing. So please please please please please PLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEE let me write them!!!!
