Oh yes, it is building. I really really hope the installer can be made because I can't wait to download this mod!![]()

We're working on it!
Even if the installer doesn't work out (and I do think that it will), we'll be sure to create detailed instructions on how to install/uninstall. It would just be a matter of backing up "X" files to somewhere on your comp. Then overwriting the files in the game folders with the mod files. Then, to uninstall, deleting the mod files and copying back over the original ones you backed up.
But, yeah, we'll do our best to make the installer happen!
Oh, and ThaneMod siggies are currently being posted on the new forum :]

I wanted to ask about something or even suggest if it's not too late for that.
We all know the credits song from ME (Faunts - M4 (part2)) and I don't know about you, but I think this song is perfect for Thanemancing Shep. I'd just love to play this mod, finally finish the trilogy with my canon Shep and hear this song at the very end of the game.
The question is - is it difficult to change credits song? Does anybody know how to do this? I'd be very thankful for some tips.
Another thing I wanted to say:
The mix of Fenris and Thane is absolutely gorgeus! Just... wow! Two of my favourite characters in one? Brilliant!
I have moved on to Dragon Age (especially DA2 which I didn't like that much 2 years ago) since the release of Citadel DLC and despite the fact that I'm still angry at BioWare for killing Thane, I can't help it - I'm very excited about DA:I and can't wait for more info about it.
After replaying DA2 I started to compare DA games and ME trilogy and I must say - although I love ME universe more (space exploration is something I always dreamt about and this makes the game unique for me), Dragon Age games are just far better as RPGs.
I was wondering how would Fenris romance look if it was written by ME3 writers, here are some versions:
- Fenris would always turn against mages and Hawke at the end, because he hated them and no amount of friendship (or rivalry:P ) would make him loyal. It's actually quite the thing I expected from the romance (my Hawke was a mage and always supported mages), so when I realized that it doesn't have to end with tears and betrayal I was very positively surprised.
- ME3- style version hard: Hawke always looses battle with powerful magister Danarius due to his plot armor and Hawke's temporary idiocy and inability to fight. Fenris becomes a slave again as it should be, because he was always a slave and tevinter magisters are powerful foes - we should really expect that Hawke and friends cannot win every battle. After Fen is taken away from Hawke, no one attempts to find him and kill Danarius in an ambush or by using some more brain. Everything goes back to the way it was before, no one mentions Fenris' terrible fate, Hawke and his/her merry group just accept it and agree that Fenris had it coming.
Due to some complaints, in one of the DLC's Fenris is mentioned and we find his love letter that was never sent (if there was a romance and he learned how to write). The letter is beautiful and touching and we may even see a vision of him smiling and telling us that everything is ok.
Sounds familiar?
- ME3 style - insane version - mostly the same as above, only Fenris voluntarily agrees to go with Danarius the moment he shows up - no way of telling him that this is wrong, of course. After all, Fenris was always a slave and people can't change what they are and can never escape their fate.

Hmm... I'm still lurking here and can't wait for the mod to be finished. Staying away from Mass Effect helps in dealing with everything Thane related in ME3, mainly because I keep trying not to think about it. It's been several months since Citadel DLC and the the bitter taste it left still lingers. It's obvious for me that I will never accept what BioWare did with Thane in ME3 and I'm glad there are so many people with proper skills that are willing to fix this and make things the way they should be.Because no, I won't agree that what happened in the game was in any way logical and natural conclusion to Shep and Thane's romance.

Good to see you around! And even better that you are lookign forward to the mod
To start, I'd really encourage you to come in and join the discussion. I know people's schedules get hectic in the summer, but right now, we could actually use some more folks chiming in. If you don't have the URL to the forum, just toss me or Coldi a PM.
As for the credits song, we can change audio. For example, we are intending on changing the background music during the Huerta dialogue to the ME2 romance music.
I'm going to go ahead and copy and paste the relevant portion of your post into the main mod thread and see what folks think :]

Also, we could use some input on epilogue slides and potential artists (see the relevant thread on the new forum) and someone with script-writing skills for the installer!

@vlk - good to see you around!!
I posted a question on the FB page, that our techie over at the ThaneMOD is trying to find the answer for. I am just going to copy/paste the post I made on FB, so please forgive the slightly weird wording.
Hey folks, coldwetn0se here....I have a question..? Over at the ThaneMOD group, our main tech developer is hunting down all the conditionals in the code that trigger anything "death" related to Thane. We know that if Thane is alive on import, but the player DOESN'T talk to him at Huerta, the game will default to either Kirahee stepping in during the Kia Leng fight, or the Salarian Councilor will d...ie. However, Thane will still die of screen at some point, and "supposedly" his name will show up on the Memorial wall. The problem our tech is having, she can't seem to track down when/where this happens, making it much more difficult to pinpoint the conditional. She has done a testing "speed run" in the hopes of tracking down the last of these conditionals, but got all the way to the end run on Earth, and didn't see his name on the Memorial Wall.
So, question is simply, for those that may know, when does Thane's name show up on the Memorial wall, if he was alive on import into ME3, but not engaged at Huerta Hospital? Many thanks and internet cookies for anyone with some information.

LOL those were so terrible and accurate. Add in all the other possible LIs trying to bed Hawke after Fenris is gone, and voilà!Vlk3 wrote...

100% agreed. DA2 has so many faults as a game: it's buggy and unpolished, clearly a rushed job with uninspired design and meh gameplay. But it still packs a powerful roleplaying and storytelling punch, and that IMO goes a long way toward redeeming it. I'm also looking forward to DA:I--which, TBH, is the only reason why I hopped back on BSN. Dat trailer, it is beautiful. Also, I want Varric, Morrigan, and Cassandra to have a snark-off.
Now to go catch up on progress with the Thane mod. So excited!

So I started playing DA:Origins at the weekend... I hope you all don't hate me for saying this but I'm really not having fun with the gameplay.
Edit: it posted before I had finished typing! =P

Believe me, you're not alone. I find it impossible to play DA:O as anything other than a mage, and even then, my game is heavily modded.

We're to the point with ThaneMOD that we need to find some artists to make the epilogue slides. The content of these slides has been pretty much solidified, but we could use more suggestions for artists.
Please visit the End Game content thread on the new forum and read the OP. It provides important info and also a link to direct you to the most recent post that pertains to the slides.
Note: if we don't receive any input on artists, Coldi and I will simply start contacting folks we feel would be appropriate for the task.
If you want to have input, now is the time to give it. We need to start sending out solicitations by the end of this week.
Thanks!!
