And you know...a lot of people like him because he's a "bad boy" with a sensitive side. I think when I first saw him, I liked him because of the frightening competence he exhibits. Absolute skill, no hesitation, every ability honed to its highest...*sigh*

@laradenton:  I think Shep's very first thought would be IMPRESSIVE/Useful as hell

I am sure she was also quite curious as to why he took the Dantius contract in the first place, if you think back to the Asari (can't remember the name) who transported you out to the Dantius Towers, she tells Shepard that nobody ordered the hit, he wasn't being paid and that he wanted to make the galaxy a better place.

The confused look on Shepards face was evident and I too was rather interested as to why he, himself chose the contract seeing as assassins are usually hired by someone, so maybe that was another thought going through her mind when she witnessed him drop down from the vents.

Well, there's always pure lust at the skin tight leather, muscular body, predatory black gaze. Hypnotic, like how snakes can mesmerize their prey.....?

I was actually commenting for Shadow_Puppet and tennyochan about the dying part. But really, what a great description! So, do you think she was seeing beyond the mission/skills?

Not that I'm a usual poster around here but......

It seems that if you're going to develop feelings for someone that you know is an assassin, you'd have to know more about them first. At least he didn't try to kill her, though (unlike some other sexy assassin types...), which might make an initial attraction easier. But I think his usefulness would hook her, first, and later on she'd realize he had more... uses than she initially realized. :D

When my Shep was able to think straight again after Thane's vent dropping neck snappin' entry, it was, "Yup, I need that guy on my team."

*pause*

"I bet he gives a killer massage."

harhar!

I'll be pretty disappointed if our ME2 team is scrapped.  I spent a good chunk of my time chasing these people down, earning their trust, going through hell and back, making darn sure each and every one of them came back alive.  They are THE best of the  best.  It would be a cheap shot to ditch them all in favor of Joe Noob second string C-Sec officer in ME3 and it would make ME2 utterly and completely meaningless.

Shepard knew she was looking for an assassin, but didn't quite know what to expect. So what she felt was a combination of curiosity and admiration for his skills along with the desire to understand him. Eta: She also felt a hint of lust at the skin tight leather, muscular body and  predatory and hypnotic black gaze [RShara]. Thanks. Feel free to add though.

senorfuzzylips: You don't have to be a regular poster to say what you think and you are welcome anytime.

I agree with you Kai, if your entire squad did not return in ME3 after all the **** Shepard went through not only to recruit but also to gain their loyalty AND have each one of them survive the suicide mission, that would be like the biggest FU ever.

Edit: laradenton, add a hint of lust to your list aswell Posted Image

I love bringing Thane to Zaeed's loyalty mission! Or pretty much anywhere my Shep can show off her high Paragon side! <3

Creating Thane
I don't know if you've seen this before, but I've just discovered it. It is just a glimpse at what goes on when creating a character, but it is very interesting.

Real cool concept art there. Really gives you a sense of how many iterations a character goes through until finalized. Anyway, here's hoping Thane gets cured or at least his life elongated...

Bump!

I, um, ah, mean . . .

Why would they go through all that hard work of creating Thane for just one game?

C'mon, Bw, you know you want him in the next one . . . fangirls everywhere are counting on it!!:P

After today's epic fail, my faith in BW has decreased. They seem eager to throw $ away. Let's hope they learn and listen to us and keep Thane alive!

Regarding the concept art for Thane, I find it interesting that they fully intended him to have the earrings and he only lost it due to some oversight. The oversight led to an improvement, I think.

I'm torn on the earrings. Mostly because he doesn't have ears, so why is he piercing his fringe? Also, metal/shiny/hard things can be very distracting and possibly be noisy when trying to stealth.

They do look rather cool, though, and he is rather appearance-conscious, so it's hard to say :)

I completely agree - I don't like them at all!

True.  I wear two small loop earrings in each earlobe, and they really do jingle when I move my head.  Thane probably would not want anything to disrupt his hearing while on a critical mission.

Unless it's a cultural thing, and all drell have these piercings (and so far as we know they don't, since Kolyat doesn't), I can't really see him with them.  Actually, I don't think I remember any other aliens wearing piercings.  Are there
any that we've seen?

Thane wouldn't want to draw attention to himself at all as an assassin.   And drawing attention to his face would be especially undesireable, right?  That would increase the chance that someone would recognize him.  Also, with his whole mind-body-separation philosophy, why would he go adorning his body with piercings?  But then again, he does dress like a fox, haha... maybe I am wrong on that point.  But for some reason, piercings seem out-of-character to me.  Just my two cents worth.  ;)

Maybe the piercings would be some kind of spiritual thing? I dunno, I don't like them either.

The download content description said it was to blend into urban shadows...

Hmm, do you think you could pierce a turian?

Blend into Urban Shadows, BioWare's new epic scent of love!  Don't spend your days smelling like a Vorcha or the butt-end of a Krogan after a long night, with Urban Shadows you'll always come out smelling like a delicious Drell drowned in chocolate milk!

I'm working on a ceramic bust of Thane right now (made one of Garrus when ME1 came out) and I credit all of you for the great screens I can use as a reference.
