Secondly, I don't think that Bioware would throw away a character like that, especially when specifically designed as romance interest for females. Although the tragic romance may appeal to some, it would stand to reason that most people who romanced Thane (primarily) would want him to survive.
As for Thane dying in Mass Effect 3, it's not unavoidable. This is science fiction, a cure would conceivably be made or something that elongates his life.

Well, you can see it this way. Once ME3 rolls around, all love interests will have equal content to their romance. If ME2 had fully fledged romances for the ME1 romances, then you could say it may be lopsided.ebidebby wrote...
True, true. I was just taken aback at how ME2 tossed aside the romances from ME1. Well, they left some potential there. But it should be fun to see, either way. I'm sure I'll still buy the game and play it, no matter what happens.

Tali is not in it, so everyon has a chance to win.

Did it bother anyone else that in the final Thane conversation, Shepard asks him how he's feeling two times?
Shep: How are you feeling?
Thane: No worse than ever, you needn't worry. And you? You are well?
Shep: No need to worry about me. How are you holding up?
What a waste of a conversation! I feel a little cheated. That's the last thing we get?

Shepard doesn't have emotions.ebidebby wrote...
Heh, I wonder why Tali is so popular? I know, I have her as my icon, but I'm female, so I don't think I count.

Ah, Collider, the voice of reason! It makes sense that all the LI will have equal screen time. It helps to keep the mood high, but I'll have to see it first to really believe it.Collider wrote...

Shepard might be emotionless, but she's suppose to have some logical skills still intact. The repetitiveness probably comes from the Cerberus implants.Collider wrote...

To answer the original question, yes, it did bother me and still does. It feels pointless. I wonder why they left it like that because I'm sure it didn't escape the developers. It is something pretty obvious. Maybe they just rushed through things to get the game done. Or maybe they cut something out.
kaimanaMM: those are really great!
I'll quote the funny one:

lol I was kidding. But you have to admit sometimes Shepard isn't the most expressive.laradenton wrote...

I'd like to see more "how are you" or "how are you feeling" from squad mates. Jacob's romance had it, but no one else did as far as I know. IIRC in Dragon Age Alistair and at least another companion asks you that. It's moving in the right direction. To answer the original question, yes, it did bother me and still does. It feels pointless. EDIT: oops
Meant to say how are you feeling and Shepard being able to respond with more than I'm fine.

^This. Thane's romance holds up in terms of depth to Alistair's, but sadly not so much in the dialogue dept... imho. Still totally fantastic but I would have liked to see more back and forth in terms of the "how are yous". Doesn't diminish my love for Thane, though! (c;

I'd love to see a bit more in that department also. I think Thane and Jacob are the only ones who even ask how Shepard is doing / feeling. The dialogue with Jacob when it comes to that is good (Watch it here *Possible Spoilers*) and it was a shame we weren't able to have that with Thane, or any of the other romances really. Doesn't make me love Thane's romance any less, but being able to talk about some of the things Shepard has gone through recently make her/him seem more human.
Oh, Shepard.
I agree with this. Now, their relationship is more like, Thane Thane Thane. Don't get me wrong, I really like this relationship. But I don't think Thane is somebody that cares more about himself than someone else.
And it's to bad that the part where Thane asked Shepard how she's feeling didn't had anything more to it. Imo, something similar to that part with Jacob would actually suit Thane too.
