I know Thane said he has up to a year left, but diagnosis' have been wrong before. All they would have to do is make it a situation that could end any time, but he doesn't have to be dead by the time the next game starts. As I have said before on another discussion, I know he is dying, but it would be a huge mistake to not give us a little time at the beginning of ME3 with him. I'm not asking for the entire game, he will die, but don't make his death a part of the opening scene. Let my PC (and me) be a part of his last days.

And I'm not talking about him dying in a hospital bed, weak and pathetic.  Let him go out fighting.  The game could start with all of your team members from ME2 fighting along side you at some random battlefield, and Thane is one that doesn't survive.  Our PC tries to save him amidst the battle, but can only say good-bye with a kiss as he slips away.

Fellow Thane Shippers,

I made a little music vid about our fave drell & LI:

www.youtube.com/watch ~ Thane Krios & Commander Shepard - Intoxicated by you

The vid is from both perspectives, hers and his.

The quote: How can I stand alive with only half a life? How can I love so hard with only half a heart? just screams Thane/Shep IMO.

Enjoy, post comments and please be kind, I know there are better vids out there.

This is wordlessly beauitful. Thank you very much, although I didn't watch the whole thing (stopped at the kiss) because I have yet to import my female and play a FemShep playthrough. I romanced Kaidan in ME1, but I won't stay loyal to him. I just really love Thane.

Thank you SO much. I hope I did not spoil anything. :D

I romanced Kaidan too. Then Horizon happened. Then I recruited Thane. And then my Fem Shep thought "Kaidan who? C'mere, Thane!". And then I played KOTOR and Kaidan/Carth pissed me off even further. :o:devil:

This is what I posted in response to someone who said that Thane is not Thane without his disease:

Whereas I'm sure that his illness was part of the reason why he wants to repent, Thane is not defined by his disease. Instead, his spiritualism, courtesy, and introspection, as well as the semblance of stoicism, are all due to his assassin training by the Hanar. The Hanar themselves are very courteous as well as religious. And they likely tried to make him less emotional about killing, as part of the training. Even before Thane was dying he was remorseful about his killings, as well as how he treated his family. It's just that his illness is compelling him to take more immediate action.

He's dying, yeah, but how's his health otherwise?

It has been forever plus one since I've last posted here, so I feel I need to reassert my love for a Thane cure.

Yeah, more love as it is so quiet around here... Shh... Everybody's sleeping... Thane, however, is watching...

I've never very much liked the whole support thread thing to be honest... I mean sure it's great to have threads for characters you like but I feel as if it is dividing the community. It's like each support thread is it's own seperate clan. The members of the Tali clan (Tali-ban) keep peace with the Miranda clan (Miridians) but neither one dares to roam into the others thread lest all hell break loose. The Ash clan and Kaidan (Kaidanites) clan have long held a pact, but there is still a subtle rivalry among them. Then there is the Liara, Garrus, Samara, Thane and Jack clan... and perhaps even hints of the start of a Shiala clan. The last thing either wants is war.

I dislike that I basically have to "belong" to one of these clans or else I really have no sway on the forums... I have to belong somewhere or else people will not be interested in an in-depth discussion. Is it not possible for a person to like all or none of the squadmembers? It is dividing way the forum way too much IMO and is taking up the campaign quests and storylines forum which I would have thought would be reserved for actual questions about the story...

You don't have to belong anywhere, but I get what you're saying. It's just that people post on the topics they are most interested in, hence they are posting mostly in just one character thread. I know I do. I'm not following the threads of the characters I'm not interested in.

Declaring yourself interested in Thane, his fate, or posting here doesn't cut your options of being a [bigger] fan of other characters as well.

Which one? I do believe there are some fans hiding in there and not sharing with the rest of the world.

I'm not the one to drag them out. They'll come when they'll feel like it. Maybe when they'll see they're being "gossiped" about on the main thread. :D

Unfortunately, I have nothing intelligent to say about Thane other than that I don't want to see him cured. The tragic romance is part of his charm. He seems to have reduced me to the intelligence of a giggling teenager

I haven't posted in here much but Thane is tied with Jack for my favorite ME2 character. I hope they cure him for ME3.

I guess it's about personal preferences. I really like his eyes. The outfit looks cool, yes, but as an irony it is colored in red and black and he states that he can't quite tell the difference between dark red and black because he had his eyes modified to perceive the Hanar's language. So how would Thane describe this? Some type of philosophical quote?

If there was an option to take out the glasses, my Shepard would run around with Thane in that outfit more often.
