The specific line it's not there. It's only present in the files but not in the game. :(
But it doesn't matter because we do not want him dead anyway.

When my ParagonShepard gets Thane to talk with Kolyat, I think the scene where they start crying was incredibly cheesy and poorly executed..

I agree! I really liked that scene. Lana just did Thane's loyalty mission. Kolyat cries, Thane doesn't. Maybe he tears up a bit but even that's hard to tell. I like that scene. I adore Thane.

Maybe it's just me, but IMO Thane's (Drell's) eyes would look better if they did not have the human-style eyes underneath the black outer layer.

I tend to agree. Structured off a lizard's eyes, I could have gone with that.

it is a great song and the lyrics fit quite well. Actually for Thane AND a single Shep :)

I agree. I happen to like Thane's eyes just the way they are.  I did the exact same thing. I created two single Shepards just for him.

A pleasant surprise indeed ^_^ I noticed them for the first time during his "memories" moments, afterwards I've always tried to spot them. It was like noticing Talis' eyes and nose behind the mask in ME1 (they were less visible than in ME2 if I'm not mistaken).

I love Thane's eyes.  I <3 the dark green pupils in the black.

Thane has some of the most expressive eyes on the ship.  I think, at least.
