So I chose violent voice for my avatar but I'm tired of him mouthing off at me everytime he opens a door. Can I change this?

I don't see an option in game.

Sadly no. I had to part with a character for the same reason. It wouldn't have hurt if in the voice selection pane you actually heard the quotes you'll hear throughout the game.

If you click on the arrow next to the voice type, it will play a few quotes.

Toolset -> save file -> SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR -> SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR -> SAVEGAME_PLAYER_SOUNDSET -> double click ss_pc_(gender)(race)_(sound).. change (sound).

Thank you so much. I picked the violent voice also and hearing "can i get you a ladder so you can get off my back" everytime I wanted to look in a chest was annoying as hell. It was funny the first time. 5000 times later....

A few, yeah, but not the ones that're likely to ****** you off.  I chose the "Experienced" female voice 'cause I thought she sounded reasonable, per se.  Half the time she does and it fits really well... and half the time I'd just like to slap her in the mouth, "Who says that?  What is wrong with you?"

"Can I get you a ladder..." is becoming my nemesis as well.

The line actually shows up in several different voice sets - and it's incredibly annoying.

I silenced my characters entirely. Much less annoying that way. ;)

Wow, and I thought I had it bad with the mystic voice's "IT BEGINS!" every time he saunters over to browse a bookshelf. Why couldn't they have stuck with "Sure" and "OK" and various other monosyllabic grunts like you'd expect, maybe take after Blizzard and stick some funny one-liners in if you repeatedly click on the same guy? The awesome mage I had envisioned turned out to be an overexcitable blowhard who can't seem to find anything to put on his head other than weird bags with feathers.. ahem, I digress.

Also, on the same note, I hope to find a way to remove my tattoo in the toolset -- I wish they would have told me ahead of time that tattoos rarely appear on humans, being a sign of tribal roots!
