Ok I can't put this topic in the ME forum because I have to register my game and all that. Can't rented it so anyways. I was thinking about were did the Reapers come from? They couldn't start as a machine because machines are MADE. This brings up something interesting I think. Maybe it's similar to the Geth and Quarians were the Reapers creators were overthrown leading to the reapers controlling everything? I dunno what do you guys think?

Maybe they started out as sapient beings but used machinery to become more powerful. I remember from ME1 the Reaper (can't remember it's name) said the cycle had been going on before the Protheans. Maybe the Reapers were here at the beginning of our galaxy as a sapient technological advanced race that let it's power get to their heads.

I seem to remember a few episodes of star trek TNG featuring sapient starships, though they were organic and generally speaking well mannered.

However the Reapers do appear to have decks and what not, unless of course Saren built a living area inside Sovereign, so maybe the reapers were sapient star ships built billions of years ago for people to lazy to pilot/fight and who just wanted to enjoy the ride.

I'm sure it could explain the whole indoctrination thing too if someone were to think about it for longer than I can be bothered to.

Anything regarding the reaper's origin is purely speculation. We simply do not know, at least not yet.
