Anyone know what the limit to the number of controlable characters is?

You can have 4 players on screen at once, and you can change party members through...well...the party member menu(all the reserves will be there)

True, though the party member menu is almost never actually available. The only time I can remember it being useable was in that first town right after Orzamar - after that, it's pretty much permantly blacked out. You have to go to the Party Camp in order to switch out followers.

really? I think it's available as far as you are not in the middle of some action.

I haven't really been anywhere yet, but afaik the party menu is supposed to be available whenever you're outside and out of combat.

yep, it is.

I wonder if 4 members is a hardcoded limit or if it's changeable for different modules/campaigns, like NWN2?

Heck, in NWN2 you could change the party size just by using the in-game console....

Not that I would advocate that sort of thing, but it IS a great way to get interactions during events from all your party members rather than just the 3-4 you're normally allowed at a time. ;-)

I'm pretty sure there is a console command to add more party members.

runscript zz_addparty NPCname

where NPCname is the name of the member you want to add. They won't show on the character menu on the left but you can select them by clicking on them.

Use:

runscript zz_addparty name

in the console to add someone else to your party. Running it will display the charcter select screen, just hit accept(they wont show as being selected) and they will be in the party with you. Their portrait won't show but you can still select them by directly clicking on them.

Problem with that is you cannot use their abilities and they have no banters or conversation interjections.

They are basically meat puppets. Only the dog really works when you add them that way, since he has no banters and his abilities don't matter as much.

Don't forget pets your characters can control as well.  (i.e. ranger)

Ah, dang it. If that's true, then adding Zevran to the party before you actualy get the chance to get him to join won't work as intended.

Now I have to search for the actual plot flag to get him to appear earlier.

I cannot understand why there is a limit of 4 characters. If customers (paying for the game) want to play 6 characters then add this possibility. If DA is to be called successor of BG then its parameters should be at least equal.
