Every piece of customizable armour they made for a squad made would probably mean one less for Shepard.
So I prefer keeping the squadmates looking unique, with more options for Shepard.

No it doesn't.  All they have to do is make armor models that are species specific and useable by each character of that species just like they did in the first game.

As it is, it is absurd to have your squadmates walking around in space with a single layer of clothing and a nurse's mask.

Almost a thousand votes in, and since the percentages haven't really changed from when it was 100 votes, it's safe to make a couple of assumptions about the armor system.

I don't know if the "modular armor for everyone" is the best possible solution, but it clearly shows that roughly 2/3 of players would like to have a more complex/better armor system for ME 3.

About 1/4 would be happy with either ME 1 or ME 2, with the ME 2 system slightly more popular, but most would apparently like an actual armor for all the squadmates.

A small minority seems to be indifferent/happy whatever the system is.

So people obviously want change, a better armor system than either ME 1 or ME 2 can offer.

To prove this conclusion right or wrong, vote at:

My vote for modular-for-everyone applies to casual-wear-for-everyone too. Why everyone is standing around in the same gear that they wear on missions is beyond me. Why the hell doesn't Miranda have armor on for missions? Why the hell does Garrus and Grunt not wear casual clothes while on the Normandy?

Wth?

No thanks, I can do without the modular armors for teammates. Managing an inventory system is a pain in the ass and hence why it was abolished in ME2.

I will support differing outfits with unique stats for teammates however. If BW is unwilling to expand teammate skills by giving each a survival skill (i.e. barrier, armor, shields), giving them different outfits upon completion of their loyalty quest with unique stat modifiers would suffice.

I liked the new armor system for big parts of the game. Most outfits fit better on many occasions than Shep's armor. You run a lot through cities looking a little "overdressed" with your armor suit. Still when the real missions start, especially those where Shep wears a mask it looked ridiculous when other team members just got their cute little breathing masks. Some may say its a little could in space to go out with nearly bare breasts.

So I would hope for individual armors for crew members, but both city- and battlefield-outfit. If not possible, than rather same armor as Shepard or at least battlefield armor.

They don't have to put inventory back, you just check your teammates armor the same way you check their weapons before the mission, just like in ME 2.

I don't necessarily want an inventory back, but I do want ARMOUR for my team-mates, not tiltilating outfits, or one set of damaged armour for the entire game.

Shepard gets the modular N7, with the option to choose between light-, medium- and heavy-N7. Squadmates get 2-3 different unique armors each, with ME 1 style upgrades, maybe 3 upgrade slots per armor. This way there could be lots of different upgrades for the squadmates, and the squadmates would retain their unique look.

So basically this is the compination between ME 1 and ME 2 armor systems. If you like this option, give your opinion on this thread or in the polls comment section.

Over thousand votes. Would also like more comments about the "fifth option"  above.

Since the ME 2 armor system seems to be more popular than the ME 1 armor system. I would like to ask, if this is because people remember how annoying the ME 1 inventory was? If the armor selection would be put before you go to a mission (like the weapon selection in ME 2), would you then prefere the ME 1 system over the ME 2 system?

I'll miss Miri's butt in her white outfit... But, putting her and Jack in armor just makes more sense and keeps male and fem shep less distracted in a battle.

I'd like to give all my squad similar colored armor to mine, just to make us all look like a team. As it is, with some displaying black and orange, others white and red, or just red, and Garrus being either blue or blue and black... meh.

I want my entire team to be shiny bronze :) We are, after all, unstoppable, and having a single recognizable motif would help relay that. Red suns are red, Eclipse are yellow, Blue Suns are blue... my squad should be either dark red, or bronze and the enemy should cower when they see it rushing at them.

Personally, I like both systems. There just isnt' any way to make enough credits in ME2 to bring about an ME1 style loadout.

I would like there to be more options for Sheps armor so you could truly taylor it for each class or mission making the armor actually something that makes a true difference if you make the correct purchases based on your class strengths or deficiencies.

I'd also enjoy actually being able to outfit the crew in a similar manner, perhaps not with as many choices or with no choices but an armor kit that does the same: bolster their strengths or help their weeknesses.

A simple skin swap just doesn't cut it.

However, ME2 seems more about gettign to know the team and getting to the suicide mission than it is about exploring a galaxy and making creds. That was a good way to handle a new Spectre that strangely had to equip his own... everything and learn...everythign. Not good for an experienced main character and crew. So, I'm fine with the current setup. But only for ME2.

Bioware has gone to the other extreme as far as gameplay is concerned in an RPG. If they don't find balance between shooter heavy and RPG heavy in the ME3, I won't be a very happy fan. Not that they wold care all that much since my small collection of greenbacks are nothing in the grand scale to them.

Miranda would probably wear a light armor (if they would have unique armors), in the style of Asari commandos, so you could still admire her butt.;)

I've read everyones comments about the armor system, and there seems to four basic wishes:

1.Every squadmate gets an actual armor

2.Armors have the helmet on/off toggle

3.These armors should be upgradable in some way

4.Custom paint jobs for the armors

I hope this poll tells BioWare how much everyone thinks that customizing our teamates armors is NOT frustrating. I think I'm going to link this poll in my sig.

I was thinking that it might be cool to give Shepard a power armor, like this (from Fallout Tactics):

Posted Image

Powered exoskeletons exist already, so it really isn't stretch to think that there would be one in two hundred years from now. I could imagine that Cerberus and Alliance would like to have their soldiers on even footing with the Krogans physically. Or do you guys think that powered armor wouldn't fit in ME universe.

This is the kind of armor they could give for Miranda:

This actually looks like an armor, but it still retains her best assets.

Well Bioware has said that they will listen to fans, but it's more probable that no, these polls wont help.
But it's nice to think that it could actually affect the game design:P

This. That way would be perfect. I hope someone at Bioware look at this.

Apparently every idea for the new armor system has been said. Now well just have to hope that BW does something about it.
