Is ME2 a physx enabled game? My third card, 9800 GT, just sits idle in ME2. ME1 uses Physx, why not ME2? If this has been posted before, my apologies. Please allow us to search these forums again and I will gladly look for the answer on my own.

I think it is - yes - because on CD1 you must install PhysX as well.

Odd. I have designated my 3rd card for Physx GPU processing in the Nvidia Control Panel but there is still no usage on the card. It just sits at 0%. I am using the 190.62 drivers because of the issue with the NF200 chip on the EVGA motherboard. I did install the sli patch though but I had to manually modify the XML file to make Sli work. Very strange that there is no Physx processing taking place.

I have a 9800 GT+ and when the game first loaded the Phys x logo came onto the screen.
As you stated that you already have the option enabled in settings, hard to say whats going on, I am using the latest Nvidia drivers for the card.

Yep, I am really hesitant to go to a new driver b/c of the RMA issues with the EVGA E759 classy Board. A later release of the Nvidia Drivers completely fried the NF200 chip on these boards. Luckily I was not an early driver adopter when it was released. The NF200 chip allows 3x Sli at 16x speed. I haven't added a 3rd GTX285 due to cost but I would like to later on this year.

My current Physx version is 09.09.0814. There is a new release on the Nvidia site. Going to try the new Physx version 09.09.1112 and see if that corrects the issue.

In this post, http://social.biowar...06/index/785776, a forum member points to the software folder on disk 1. So I am running the Physx software that shipped with the game. Not sure what is going on here as my version of Physx is the same as what was included with the game. Seems a shame to have a dedicated card for Physx that does nothing in the game.

PS: Someone posted this link to search the forums, http://social.biowar...forum/1/search/

Confirmed this is not an issue with my PC. Installed the StarTales Physx benchmark from Nvidia, sans the Uninstal Trojan that was in the download. Ran it and my 9800 GT kicked right in for Physx GPU processing. The card immediately ramped up for Physx. Not sure why there is a problem with Physx and ME2 but I know now that it is not my machine.

Would appreciate a comment on this one.

Hey yoda I dont thinks you going crazy mate, ME 2 PC : Coalesced Editor v1.0.0.7(B) Released for Testing--- I downloaded this to see if there were any setting in it making me crash and in one of the sections it has something like = hardwarephysx=FALSE so it seems the game uses the physx files but doesnt force the hardware to utilise it.

ME1 was an Ageia Physx game, hence it only works with the Ageia hardware. ME2 (and Dragon Age) do run Nvidia Physx, but only on the CPU, that's why the drivers have to be installed, but why the hardware is not being used.

Sticks ageia are NVIDA they bought them out a long while ago, well they bought the physics rights and unsure whether they aquired the full company or if its still in progress but the physics side is definately nvidia only. you can read press statement here http://www.nvidia.co...2161567170.html

Haha, no worries man. There was a lot of confusion around ME1 when Nvidia bought Ageia, since Nvidia never told anyone that games that used the Ageia API wouldn't work with thier Geforce cards. Go figure.

Thanks for the posts guys. I never would have guessed ME2 would be a CPU based Physx game rather than GPU. I will need to investigate this a bit more.
