I was going to copy my Mass Effect 2 save to a memory card because i'm scared to death of another hard drive fail with my 360 after putting so much time in between the 2 games. But unfortunatly it won't let me. Any reason why we can't backup these saves? Is this something they could fix with a patch? Its a long time till Mass Effect 3 and If i lost all this data i would be a sad panda.
Why can't I copy my Mass Effect 2 Save to Memory Card

If the sole purpose of backing up your saved game files is to use them as import files in ME3 don't bother. We have been having this discussion with Bioware in another thread. The Import Utility uses a hidden save game file that cannot be moved, copied, transferred, etc. Even using the transfer cable supplied by Microsoft when buying a larger HDD does not move this file. Unless things change for ME3 backing up files in order to use them for ME3 is useless.
As a note, this hidden save file is an ME1 file, not an ME2 one. In addition, the xbox transfer kit should move that hidden file as well (only manually attempting to copy across files will not do this). I don't believe ME2 has any hidden files, meaning that just the saves people are trying to backup should be required.
