So I bought the game about 2 weeks ago, but the store was all out of copies except for the one they were using for the display. I bought that copy thinking nothing of it but now that I am wanting to download that extra content I realized that I should have gotten a promotional code with the game. I have the right version of the game because on the back it says "Includes: Downloadable character and quest" By this point I had thrown out my receipt because everything was working fine. So I called the store that sold it and they said that without the receipt they couldn't do anything really. I was wondering if there was some way to be able to get another code? I don't see why it would be so difficult for me to just use the same code I used to register the game for the distributor to know I should have gotten that promo code and haven't used it.
Basically I just want to know if I am screwed? Thanks.

Obligatory finger-wagging lecture: don't throw away your receipts so soon.

The code redemption system is primarily to provide perks to first-time buyers and make second-hand purchases less attractive. Producers and developers don't derive much benefit from the used game market. The promotional codes for DA:O are on an insert; I doubt that there is any database correlating the registration from the game manual and the codes on the insert. Even if there were, I'm sure the codes that came with that copy have already been used by now. It is unlikely that you will be able to convince EA to give you new codes, since there's no distinguishable difference (on their end) between your situation and someone buying the game used (the game was open when you bought it). There's no harm in trying EA customer support, but my guess is you're out of luck.

looks like the stone prisoner redeem code was suppose to be in it.best thing to do is contact EA support for a new code. you get shale to add to your party and his quest with it.im sure they would have no issue giving you one,EA support is very good with code replacement.i have had the DA:ORIGINS CE since it came out, shale is very useful if you need a brute

ya, i would contact ea support, thier live chat is usefull and the people are usually helpfull.
i never throw game receipts away, i always open the game, and put the receipt in the box under the booklet.

Yeah I used to keep the receipts also ... except this one time. I bought the game brand new in a sealed pack with the Microsoft seal still intact. After having trouble with entering the codes, I contacted EA and they replied that it had already been used by another person and they gave me the email address used.
I don't understand how another person can use the same code unless there was a double out there. And instead of simply creating another one and issuing to me I have to try and see if the GAME retailer will hand me another. I even send photo proof of the inserts and the codes that came with the game.
You would think that EA would be able to generate codes and then, based on evidence you give them, be able to re-issue new codes.
