I was wondering if anyone had any good tips for creating characters to 'RP' games like Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age.
While I love getting into character and roleplaying with other people, I find that I usually end up going through these games on a 'good' path versus a 'bad' path basis - unless something comes up that I have a strong gut feeling about (like the Garrus mission).
However, to a certain extent, I'm wondering if I could have a more meaningful interaction with the game by developing more of a 'character' to put through the game, rather than the other way around. The main problem with this is - one doesn't really know what to expect! I could say that my Shepard hates pancakes... but what if there are no pancakes? For some reason, the way that I would go about developing a character for table top just doesn't seem to fit.
The background traits are a great start - but I'm wondering if others had any tips about generic 'traits' or patterns that they've found useful, either for ME1/2 (or DA) specifically, or that can be applied in a broader sense (such as to ME, OR STO, OR whatever else).
Any thoughts are appreciated!
