Hey, what about some broodmother love? I mean, comon! I've heard men **** endlessly all my life about how annoyed they are that women only have 2 boobs.

Well, broodmother has 8 GIANT BOOBIES! It's all your Christmases come at once, boys!

Not to forget that those tentacles have lots of uses.

What more could a man want?

Common, lets have some broodmother love!

Or... how about not... and you quieten down on the Broodmother love Image IPB

I found that whole scene tragic and disgusting... I swear...

Besides, shes too fa- I mean horrid. Image IPB

I support this thread wholeheartedly. x) <3

Really, I think all you origins' buddies should've been romancable. Jowan/Cullen, Ser Gilmore (HN already have 2 romances, but why not one more?), Gorim, Leske, Tamlen, Shianni (or was she your cousin? I forget).

...Actually, why are there no female origin friends? o_O

But the list goes on and on to the borders of insanity, I'm sure. If guys get ol' Broodmother, can't girls get a piece of that Architect? BD

Alright, I just noticed this little bit, take it for what you will. I don't think I have seen any unattractive templars in the entire game. I am not counting the desire demon enchanted templar because his voice killed his chances the moment he first spoke.

Ser Bryant, Cullen, Gregoire(imagine young), the knight-commanders for the Mage's Collective Quests, and Denerim Chantry. And maybe Ser Otto too, but I still haven't found out what the other templars say about him after you do his quest :(.

Has anyone seen an ugly Templar?

And why can't a FeMage stalk Cullen in turn? This has to be rectified!

I also really liked Shianni...by all rights what happened to her in the City Elf origin should have taken a lot of her spirit away, but it didn't.

Shianni's a ****in' badass. Always willing to stand up against authority and not cower to the humans' unreasonable demands like the rest of her kin, and even takes up a bow and leads them into defending their home against the Darkspawn. If anyone deserves a title of nobility to act as the voice of Elves all across Fereldan, it's her, because this **** won't take **** from anybody anymore. It's gonna' heartbreaking when I play a game with a non-City Elf protagonist, 'cause I won't get the chance to make her a Bann.:(

...maybe in addition to physical prowess, one of the templar requirements is "be reasonably attractive"? Lol, I believe you're right...I can't think of any of the templars that would make me go "...eeeeeeeeeh" now that you mention it.

EDIT: Actually...the Templar guardint he boat at the Tower wasn't really hot. But he wasn't ugly exactly, either, and I think his attitude had a lot to do with why I find him less attractive, lol.

I think it could also just do with the facial style of the game. I mean, none of them were really *ugly*, but some of them were pretty plain looking. I think we just fool ourselves into seeing an attractiveness that's not necessarily there. (I do it a lot.)

That said, elves seemed to get the shaft in this game- there were plenty of *memorably* ugly elves, which I don't really understand...

Well, I'll be the first to admit that IRL how much I like you personality-wise has a ton to do with how attractive I find you. (The "understood you" here -- not flirting ) I remember in college sitting down in a class next to a total (physical) hottie and thinking "Hellooooo!" and then he opened his mouth and proved himself a douchebag and his attractiveness level shot into the negatives, lol. This probably also explains why I always tend to go for the class clown types. They're fun!^_^

So maybe it has more to do with all the Templars being admirable in one way or the other as well as generically attractive, lol.

At the end of the game, with two arlhoods empty: Amaranthine and Denerim, they should have made him Arl of Denerim.

Denerim is only vacant if Vaughn didn't survive.

How many people let Vaughn out of that cell? Now imagine wht that number will look like if the Kylon Appreciation Society found out that killing Vaughn will make Kylon an Arl ;)

I let Vaughn out every time- he's a free vote for you in the Landsmeet. But I've never played as a City Elf.

Anyway, how about a romance with the Lady of the Forest? I always thought she was the best looking "girl" in the game. I would also totally have a romance with Anora if available.

Aw darn, and here I thought we might be forging a special connection. :P

The great thing about the game is you rarely have the chance to talk to characters long enough to find out that they're ****s. I've fallen for plenty of guys IRL after talking to them for 2 seconds, only to be rudely awakened by their terrible traits 2 seconds later. But in DA, those last 2 seconds don't exist, so we're stuck in a state of delightfully shallow and oblivious crush-hood. It's so bad, actually, that I've realized I get upset every time there's a character in the game I *can't* flirt/sleep with...

You mean the Queen of Antiva? I liked his attitude. He's funny.

That said, the first (hard) step to get any romance done is writing some dialogue. Putting that dialogue together and attaching it to a custom character copy and make it recruitable is the easy part.
And then comes the hard part of checkign al lthe flags and proper scripts.

For my own mod I have reserved spots for other (aside from the 1-3 planned)  possible party members (Jowan..or Cullen... or Gheeyna ...or whomever), but the question is - whom to add and who's gonna write all the dialogue?

There really should be a big "contribution" or "character dumpster" thread, where people could post ideas for characters together with dialogue examples and stuff.

My City Elves kill him, every time, of course. My other PCs don't know what he did, so there's no reason to leave him there unless he spouts off about "elves thinking they're people." All Soris says is that he's there because Vaughan did something to stir up the elves. But he's not specific. My human noble PCs still release the brat because they don't know the specifics and for all they know it was all part of Howe's plan to usurp as many titles as he could get.

But Vaughan did spout off the "elves thinking they're people" line once to my female mage who was with Zev.... the key found it's way into the sewage drain shortly thereafter.

If you want a manipulative **** I don't see why Morrigan isn't good enough for you. She's hotter, after all.

I bet Anora is quite charming once you get to know her, kinda like Morrigan and besides, she's way cuter. And ofcourse she's manipulative, she doesnt have magic or great sword fighting to get what she wants, she uses the skills she was born with.

I dont see why more people dont feel sad for her, she's been making a country run while her husband runs off playing warrior and getting all the glory, and then some upstart Grey warden shows up and wants to take the throne from her after all the hard work she's done. I'd be pissed to, only my character could atleast fight with a sword to get what he wants.

I liked Anora! She was pragmatic, yes, but straightforward to deal with, and a competent ruler by all accounts. And she managed to make her marriage with Cailan work, which I thought must have taken some doing.

Other than that... Ser Cauthrien!

She is a tough girl, and has alot of fire and personality for her few lines. I love the way she seems to glare at Loghain and pull away from him during the Ostagar sequence.

No matter my cunning or Coercion skill I cannot get her to stand down at the Landsmeet... so I am sure the whole Denerim-tent offer would have gone down pretty badly.

I still would prefer to be slain by a girl like that, though. She is very "Morrigan with a sword".

If only there were more sleazy Bard-girls... Image IPB

Getting Cauthrien to stand down at the Landsmeet is easy enough--I did that with 22 Cunning and 3/4 Coercion--but I'd stood down for her in Arl Howe's entry hall (and then the Wardens got to bluff themselves out of jail, one of my very favorite sequences in the entire game).

Bann Teagan hands down my favorite person to flirt with in game (even more than the romanceable ones) that wistfull little line he gives you after you tell him you will get them ALL out of the castle is just so....YOWZA I could go on all day and 5 pages bout Teagan so nuff said.

As for other NPC's mentioned something with Gregoir (I AM an older woman and I like JUST like that physically he matches my type).  Ser Bryant, Ser Gilmore, Tamlen (in the Dalish story I managed to get the hinted romance thing with him and his fate just melted my heart).  Cullen is adorable in a puppy dog who will go psycho on you kind of way but would be fun to see the flirtation taken just a little further.  I am mean enough to keep a save of that tower scene so I can go back and play around with his heart a little more.  I stopped making him run away though prefering his "uh no you aren't distracting me" line.  Duncan (on my Noble) was a funny surprise.  Hes too darkspawn obsessed.  I agree with Isabella.  Men in Ferelden just don't have those good old obsessions anymore like wet frocks...Dude needs a fun night with a wild lil rogue to take his mind off it for at least a LITTLE while.  Same with Riordan.  Go to sleep my ASS I was gonna have one wild night with Alistair before possibly dying the next day.  I find Riordan a lot more appealing than Duncan though I would welcome romance with both.  Soris is just freaking adorable esp if you get all pissy with Duncan and ready to throw down in the public square to make him leave. I'm glad he finds love just sorry his poor lil elven wife was sold off to Tevinter.  Sgt Kylon (is that his name) the guard in the Denerim market who gives you a couple quests to bust merc heads made me giggle with his practicality and no nonsense attitude.  Any man who can look good AND make me giggle is a win IMO.

A word on Jowan.  I don't know HOW my PC could even be friends with this tool.  He's a moron who just pollutes everything he touches and then WHINES to whomever (usually my mage) about it.  His voice is so whiny I just want to shove his head through the tower wall.  I've heard it on other 'environment' characters too (farmers in Lothering comes to mind).  Dude was LYING to you about being a blood mage.  I ALWAYS betray him to Irving (though I feel bad about Lily and I ALWAYS select the "My condolences" line to her).  Once I even told Eamon I didn't care WHAT he did with Jowan and he executed him.  Usually I turn him over to Gregoir's not so tender mercies.  Plus he just looks slimy to me, shifty and weasely and he has "fix me" written all over him.  I don't have the energy after battling darkspawn and an archdemon to fix this guy too.

As for the women, an Anora romance would be interesting though I still think shes a bit cold.  Daddy dearest's blood is pooling on the carpet still and shes STILL grasping at the throne.  Gotta admire her tenacity though. My last play through I am on now I gave it to her.  Still killed Loghain though, if for no other reason than I don't like looking at his "ive been rode hard and put away wet" face.  Shianni would be interesting (I don't know if technically they ARE cousins, a lot of the city elves seem to refer to the COMMUNITY as their "family").  Merrill in the Dalish elf Origin was kind of cute and interesting enough.  Bella the barmaid in Redcliffe made me giggle when I put her in charge of Lloyds and she started passing out free gear to me.
Cauthrian would be interesting if your PC could crowbar her from Loghain's hip.  Shes got one serious case of hero worship to compete with there.

My mage did the same thing.

My human noble's first instinct was to release him because a) he was Howe's prisoner and B) he was a noble - nobles hav to look out for eachother. But then, even though she hadn't met Vaughn in person, she remembered a bit of the gossip about him. Up until Howe's betrayal, she had expected and accepted that soon she'd be married off in a political arranged marriage and, as daughter to a Teyrn, the three most powerful eligible batchelors were the two grown up sons of the arls Thomas Howe, Vaughn and the brother of the third arl with too young a son, Bann Teagan.
So she decided to question him a bit. And then she thought "So that's why mother gave father that cold stare the one time he even dared mention this creep." And she left him locked in the cell.
Mind you that was on m very first playthrough so I had no idea what Vaughn had done.

I think Soris gets a lot more specific with elf Wardens.  To my Dalish PC, Soris said Vaughn kidnapped his bride, but on my current Human Noble playthrough, he only said Vaughn ruined his wedding and "stole something that was [his]."

I've killed Vaughn in most playthroughs, even though I haven't played any elves. When I asked him what happened, that line of "elves thinking they are people" secured his demise, as I always had Zevran with me, and he was always pretty close, one way or another, to my PC. So, a racist rapist in a cell, insulting my lover or homeboy is going to get the murder knife.

I always found Ser Perth pretty dreamy, too!

Yes, what a cutie.  And have you seen his voice actor?  Rawr!

I think the 2 guys in the human noble origin are both so sweet, i.e. Ser Gilmore and Dairren.  I'm just a sucker for that courtly manner and English accent.  Really doesn't take much more than that.  I will put in a plug for Nelaros in the city elf origin, too.  I don't even like blondes, but the fact that he's a huskily built elf, master smith, and his noble, brave manner with your character in that origin, it's such a shame that it doesn't work out!  He doesn't even have a Wiki entry, but to me he's a memorable character.

Wait, THAT's Ser Perth's voice actor!  I loved Lost in Austen!
