Ugh I dislike it. This is my second time taking a whack at making a reasonably good elf. I like my male mage, male dwarf noble, female dwarf commoner.  But my female city/dalish elves come out looking just bloody awful!

So what do you guys think? Next will be human noble I guess... dunno weather to go male or female... probably female...

No worries, you can edit the same character as many times as you want, and make dozens of different ones You don't need to upload works-in-progress if you're not sure you like one. Regardless, not bad for a first effort, and we've got over two weeks ( ;__; ) to practice.

About Aravis or Kallian? Both look good , whats the problem?

Though I think Aravis is more attractive than Kallian. Kallian is still interesting looking.

I could see experimenting with lip-shade.

Aravis looks good. I wouldn't say she looks awful. In particular, I like her portrait.

The black preset for the human female looks really nice...I think if you could emulate that on the city elf, it'd look spectacular.

I liked Aravis the most, just to comment, but about Kallian, i think, if you are willing to change her a bit, you could bring her nose down a bit, make her eyes bigger, the chin smaller and change the lipstick color (if it was what the others said), Sometimes it's just the hair (color and style) which can change a lot a character look, try something different. besides the excessive opinions about her, don't see her as awful, these are just things that have a possibility of working if you don't like her.

Also, don't pay much attention to the eyes comment, I just like mine to have them, and tend to think everyone looks better with it haha.

well I'm sorta bad that tweaking eyes, noses, cheek bones, etc.....

well, I can try, let me just get a look at her again and ask what you want to change, while I do it.

EDIT: well, here she is


EDIT 2: and here is my try

I will just put here my suggestions, you use what you want to apply
first, lighter hair: hair -> color -> slider to the left (just a bit) (oh, do the same with eyebrow color, under it)
second: change lip color -> skin -> lip color AND intensity (try to maintain the lip color and slide the intensity to the right, maybe it was the shade they mentioned,, I just realized, if it won't work, try giving her red lips with the lip color option and put the intensity between the left and the middle)
third: eye shadow intensity? ->skin -> eye shadow intensity (try putting it to the right, to the point it's noticeable, only if you think it will be better)
fouth: the eyes -> eyes -> eyes size (put it to the right, somewhere after the middle)
fifth: nose position -> nose ->nose height (put it in the middle, if it already is, a bit to the left)
sixth: thinier chin -> jaw/cheeks -> chin width (in the middle, a bit to the left)
seventh: full cheeks -> jaw/cheeks -> cheek shallow/full (max it)
eight: cheekbone -> jaw/cheeks -> cheekbone height (just put it a bit to the tight gives a more cheerful look to the character)

If I messed with everything, just tell and I'll try to fix it. but I'm curious with the result, if you can show me, even if it turns to be all wrong, would be great.
ahh, you could made smaller lips, because of the smaller chin
just mouth -> mouth width (to the left, a little)

If I can't use that for the elf, I'll definitely give the eyes a look especially when I get around to making a female human char

if you mean copy and paste the character portraits, it's just clicking with the right mouse button on her portrait (in the page with her status and all), click on properties, copy the URL and paste like this:

and put [img ] in the beggining and [/img] in the end, without spaces

Also, I loved the eyes in the CC, they are really expressive, probably more than the rest (for me)

EDIT: about your uploaded character
don't know if it's the angle, but the nose is really better, her chin I think is good too. she is fine, just seems to be missing something in the eyes, but, like I said, I shouldn't comment on eyes, I justdo them big and green haah

By lip shade, I meant like if your using pink as your base- mess around with Lip Intensity or Lip Color (so you have a different shade of pink).

oh, thanks, I've read it in some threads and that wasn't clear for me.
I liked your city elf too, swirlwind, she even managed to look good with this tattoo, I failed with this in all my characters...

Pretty good. Kallian 2.0 is a pretty good improvement over 1.0. She stands out more from your list of characters now.

I think they're both pretty good but Amara is a little better. Kudos on a job well done ^,^
