I don't expect it to be as frequent as the Sims, but they have made a promise of 2 years of DLC and expansions and have announced Awakening as the "1st".dark-lauron wrote...

In my Dragon Age menu it says 'other campaigns'. I take that as a hint that more than one expansion is planned.
Other Campaigns is used for any player-made modules. I'm pretty sure that's all the option is for.

As Origins reveals the worlds ''Origins'' , these patches will lead something bigger for the next expansion or game ( at least I am hoping for it )
Because there is much to be revealed in Theadas. Like Orlais, biggest Empire in Theadas. We can see the Orlais in the next game. Possibilities are endless

No need to change the Age, DA:O takes place over the course of 2 years max, each Age is 100 years.
Well, we're already 30 some years in on the Dragon Age and I can't see every expansion happening directly after the previous. So they can cover a good chunk of time and they don't have to fill 70 years worth of content, God forbid there be times of peace and tranquility.
They said they were going to expand upon DA during the 2 years after
release. Initially they said it was via DLCs, but seeing how RTO didn't
go so well, I think they decided to go for expansions. So yes, I think
there will be at least 2 of them.
That's not exactly a decision they make overnight. Developers with a good track record and solid financial backing generally have some lengthy and extensive road maps laid out. My guess is Bioware has a pretty general idea on what they're going to do with this franchise for the next 5 years or so.

Just nitpicking here, but Sims released exspansions every 4 months, not every month.

I believe we'll see 2-5 expansions over the course of the 2 years, with plenty of DLC in between and an announcement for Dragon Age 2 at the end of that time. All I'm wondering is if it will all work together.
5??? Ya, no way in hell amigo. Something tells me Dragon Age isn't going to have more expansions then any other game I can think of.
I'm betting 2... 3 max.

What game that was actually supported for 2 years and recieved any expansions got less than 4? I'm also taking into consideration that Dragon Age just came out in November, meaning that if they make the 3-16-10 release date, about 4 1/2 months since launch. With a promise of 2 years of content and assuming they keep up a similar schedule, I find 5 not just possible but highly probable especially with EA holding the reigns.Wishpig wrote...

However, what we will more likely see is 4 Expansions, one released every 6 months or so, punctuated by a few DLC Levels, taking us to about Level 75.
Each could add...
- 12-13 Levels to gain
- A new tier to Talents/Spells
- A new Specialization for each class (Dragonslayer, Sniper, Necromancer etc.)
- A new Weapon Style (Spear, Unarmed, Spiked Chain/Whip etc.) for warriors
- A new Spell School (Illusion, Summoning etc.) for mages
- Increased Material Tiers (Star Metal, Diamond, Orichalcum, Dark Matter etc.)
- A new Race to choose from (Qunari for starters, Werewolves, Hurlocks etc.)
So by Level 75 there might be...
- 8 Tiers to each Talent/Spell
- 8 Specializations per class
- 8 Weapon Styles
- 8 Spell Schools
- maybe 16 Material Tiers (add two per expansion?)
- 7 Races to choose from

I am expecting exactly 6 expansions, 12 DLC packs, and 14 free items for buying the DLC content. What do I base this on, you may ask? Like you, I base this on absolutely nothing.stow5920 wrote...

[/quote]Most of those games were not supported for 2 years, it was more like 1, and the only one I'm sure had more than that is WoW and MMOs have a completely seperate set of rules when it comes to expansions.
