Here's something totally unambiguous: according to Galactic News Shepard's mom's a serving admiral in the alliance. As long as you aren't an orphan anyway. Can we go meet mommy in ME3?
That'd be a bit unfair on non-Spacers, don't you think?
EDIT: And yes, to me it seems a pretty good bet that Aria is Aleena. All the pieces fit, unlike most of the crazy theories we hear around here. As for the bartender being Liara's father - I think not.

She's not an admiral. She turned down the admiralcy in favor of staying a captain. Said something about better serving her child's legacy that way.

Did anyone try to confirm with Wrex? Doubt he says anything though.

Perhaps the Reapers are behind the premature collapse of various stars in order to create black holes, and create some sort of wormhole. Who knows? The Reapers are now stuck hundreds of thousands of light years away, their two primary agents in the galaxy have been destroyed buy the same guy, and they need to get into the galaxy. Seems bad for them... no doubt ME3 will deal with their plan C.

Well that set off a huge alarm in my head. Those were the same words sent to Wrex after the final confrontation between him and his Asari commando friend Aleena. That's right, Aria T'Loak IS Aleena!
Or at least that's the theory. Immediately I wanted an option to ask Aria about Wrex, to see if my theory was correct.
HOLY CRAP
SHE SAID THE SAME THING SO SHE MUST BE THE SAME PERSON
also...udina, tali, kelly chambers, and a score of other charachters are actually wrex, because he said shepard in the first game!
and i agree with the theory stated above that udina must be shepard's father
and...helena blake must be shepard's mother

One thing I noticed not sure how many others did but when they show the images of the collector base it looks like there's a tiny reaper ship floating beside it look closely and you'll see it to.
It's more then that. That was a holo-transmission of an actual Reaper out in dark space. Similar to what you see in Virmire with sovereign. Not just any Reaper, that was Harbinger, if you pay attention the last thing Harbinger says is "Releasing Control" at which point that big Collector General that likes to posses other collectors loses his glowy eyes and is left an empty husk.
That's right, the guy directly controlling all of the Collectors the whole time was a full fledged Reaper out in dark space. Sheds an interesting light into what he kept shouting at you every battle. The Reapers have definitely taken notice of Shepard.

I think Udina is Shepard's father because he is a human who is older then Shepard.
Dude, reading/T.V./Movies must suck for you, it's the law of conservation of detail, introducing an absentee family member/seemingly ambiguous side character/strange line of dialogue/repeated phrase, and NOT having it be important in some way to the story is a waste of time for the writer and the consumer.
Video games get a little slack here, because of sidequests, but come on! If Liara's father isn't someone we know, then what's the point of even bringing her up? She could have just as easily had a salarian father who died when she was twenty, boom, done, never spoken of again. This was meant to be important.

Clearly, he did. Your attempt a humor is just rather lame so he's explaining why the OP is right to think based on just a phrase that Aria is Aleena. It's an interesting, credible, theory ( same for the Asari bartender). Both might be wrong but none of it is stupid. If you're going to poke fun, try harder. Your 'sarcasm' was misplaced making this attempt at mockery or 'humor 'laughable.

Going through my latest playthrough I picked up on a couple of fascinating details that could be huge revelations for the game. I don't think too many people have managed to pick up on these details. ( and if they have sorry if I'm reposting informaiton )
There are a couple of easy hints that a lot of folks probably figured out. Clearly there's some huge angle on Dark Energy that will have an impact on ME3. A couple of people have been talking about it, and not just from the Tali recruitment mission.
I also noticed the matriarch bartender in Eternity on Ilium mention that she once had a pureblood daughter, she was the father, and it didn't turn out well. On top of that she mentions how her outspoken views on the Asari culture got her laughed out of Thesia, the Asari homeworld, such that she ended up serving drinks at a bar instead. All things considered that would make her an pretty good candidate for Liara's unknown Asari father.
Also while on Ilium I overheard some interesting news regarding Kitsune. Clues to a possible future DLC squad member? According to the news report I heard Kitsune is a human thief who steels some very expensive tech prototypes. I can't wait to meet her.
