You're not on Vista 64 though, are you?

Ah, so it's just Vista 64 having problems? I should be safe then, using Win7 32. (Not that I'm going to take a chance until I'm sure.)

Well okay, I'll bite and see if I can install it , the patch, and if the game still runs afterwards.
I'll post results soon.
..........................
RESULTS..
Game launched fine.
NO issues I can detect, least it loaded the saved game I had .
Shrug.
DVD STORE copy of the game if that matters. I suppose the people having issues are on other op system versions of Windows OR are running pirate copies or just are unlucky buggers who should be pitied.

Heard Bioware forgot to include the updated VC2005 they used for the patch, try updating that.
Naughty Bio
Though windows should include that stuff in the updates along with DX!

Well, if you go by posts here on these forums, it is a mixed bag.
THe patch works fine here. As posted above
. So it must be some esoteric crap they can't be bothered to test for affecting people who the patch fails on.
I suppose that is why there is no official link to the patch nor any mention from any Bioware official on the forums about it. I'll be amused to see if there is any official word on the patch by late afternoon. I'd like to say, way to go EA. Your the man.

my problems last night were from the patch. i just uninstalled the game and then did not run the patch. seems there a conflict with what version of visual basic was used or some computer speak like that. i have xp by the way, and it affected me.

For anyone with the Visual C++ 2005 problem, just download the update from Microsoft's site, should fix it. Heck, just make sure you have the up to date version regardless, can't hurt anything.
Seems like everyone without Win 7 is getting this, I guess Win 7 has an up to date version.

-Well. Could somebody here clear the situation?
Should I install this PATCH or better NOT?
Because, 3 my friends already finished the game without patch. They (*each friend) spent about 50 hours for finishing . There was NO problems during the game with NO [patch.
What do you think about PATCH? Maybe better wait for next bug-fix?.

Read the patch notes, you decide.
It looked worth it to me, so applied.

Oh right. You need the x86 one. Even 64bit Vista/Win 7 needs that, since it's a x86 program.
Really don't know why this stuff isn't in automatic updates.
