The VC++ update did not affect my issue with note being able to start the game via the "play" button on the launcher. It still does nothing.

Because, 3 my friends already finished the game without patch. They (*each friend) spent about 50 hours for finishing . There was NO problems during the game with NO [patch.

What do you think about PATCH? Maybe better wait for next bug-fix?.

only one should work with whatever OS you're using (the x86 is for 32-bit).

Then, apply patch. It should work fine.

DA is a 32-bit program, so the 32-bit version (aka x86) is the one you need, regardless of your OS.



I believe the "nothing happens when I click play" thing is a broken link. Have you tried to launch the daorigins.exe or whatever it is directly?

It won't install the DLC for me when I patched.

The patched worked for me but my Shale DLC is still broken. Whenever I get the rod the quest becomes complete. I mean, how can it be complete when I haven't gotten Shale yet?

The patch broke the game for me. And yes i'm on vista.



I'm reinstalling the game now but I will not be DLing the patch this time.

The exe is in...uh.../bin/ or something like that. I think it's just the launcher that's broken.

Tried them all. They said some event file was magically missing.

Thanks Matthew, in wasn't thinking and installed only the x64 version and wondered why it didn't work :-/

Problem fixed.
