I didn't want to send a crew member to escort the remaining half of my crew back to the Normandy. Little did I know, loyalty is everything. All my team members were loyal, but I feared sending one to escourt the crew might end up in a team members death! If I had known loyalty ensured survival, I would have done things differently.. I lost Dr. Chakwas.. I.. I need a moment alone..

If I replay the game with the same Shep', and get a better ending (where all my crew surrvives), what set of actions will be imported into ME3? I asked this about ME1 -> ME2, and I was told each set of decisions (1st playthrough and 2nd with same character) would have it's own save file. It didn't.

It was a hard lesson for your first playthrough. Just remember that your second will not have that problem.

If you play through again with the same shepard, I believe your old import save gets overwritten by your new one.

ya know i'm kinda dissapointed with the whole some people may die at the end scenario. I'm a completionist, so by the time i went to the collectors base i had every character loyal and all ship upgrades. Who to use for what role was pretty easy, so i didn't loose a single squad made.

I'm actually kinda dissapointed because i'm only going to loose allies if i purposefully send them off to their death >.< I want to experience what it's like, but i'm not a homicidal maniac.

Save file 2 continues your choices from save file 1 and then will import into 3. So yes your choices between one and two will cascade into 3.

Yup it requires good decisions and loyalty to get everyone through.

On my playthrough I sent back Jacob. Having no foreknowledge of how the ending would go, I picked him because he's a tank, has a strong connection to the crew, and a hero himself. If anyone would get them back safely, it would be him.

I send loyal Zaeed to escort Chakwas (the only one left of my crew out).. and I was dead scared they would not come through alive..

I sympathise with the OP here!

I really didn't want to loose any team members. Only if Zaheeh, or whatever he is called, died then I wouldn't care. Possibly the worst character in the game. Ugly, the standard "hard man" personality and absolutley no conversations avaliable with him makes him a lame addition.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the team members in ME3, but my Normandy is depressingly empty. I hope going through again and saving everyone will ensure I get Chakwas in ME3!

No.

Every time you finish the game (The credits, not the time "after"  the credits) it creates a new unique end-game save file.

For ME1 I just saved before the final Citadel part, and redid that same part from the same save and made different decisions for different imports into  ME2.

I trusted Garrus to get the first team to the door, and then later, I chose him to get my crew back to the ship. He needed to have my confidence remind him that he was capable of leading.

Why did you think it was a good idea, when presented with the choice of whether to send someone to accompany your defenseless crew, to NOT send anyone? I mean, what kind of stupid decision was that?

I wouldn't like doing this.. I'd only want to change things by going through a second playthrough. Simply reloading seems kinda.. cheap?

The ME1 files were separate.  I have a couple of characters that I went both paragon & renegade on subsequent playthroughs; one was at about level 53 when I beat the game the first time, the other was about 59 or 60.  Did you use the same name for a bunch of playthroughs?  I did, and it was not a good idea.  I have a hard time finding the playthrough I want to use.

I didn't want to loose a team member. If I had known loyalty = definate surrvival, I would have sent someone.

But even so, you must have suspected that you'd lose Dr. Chakwas if you didn't send anyone...

Personally I'd have sent someone with Dr. Chakwas even if they might have died, because I care about Chakwas as much as I care about my main squadmates.

Oh wow man... I'm sorry you lost Chakwas... after that very touching moment with her and getting drunk and her just being more open. I was attached to her... I dunno if I'd be able to have handled losing her... For me, I did send someone to escort them, I used Grunt, seemed like a good choice. and it worked out. Got everyone out alive. Must've been sad to lose her though. Image IPB

Full loyalty doesn't ensure everyone survives.

I sent Thane to escort Chakwas out. I figured he'd be able to deal with any situation.

Kelly and the rest of the crew were already dead though, which is why I'm replaying with NG+.

I applaud people for not going back and reloading till they get the fairytail ending. You are the ones that get it..and understand why this game was made in the first place.... bioware on the other hand...I dont like that you allowed the fairytail ending to even be possible. ME1 is actually more deadly then ME2 in most cases...it completely destroys the whole suicide mission feel....

Loyalty doesn't ensure survival, you still have to pick the right people.

I though Mordin was as much of a tech expert as anyone, considering he's the one upgrading all of our tech.

Turns out I thought wrong. He died after going through the vents. :(

I didn't lose anyone else.

I sent Zaeed to escort the entire crew. Mainly because I knew I wasn't going to need him in the final battle (I was a soldier).

In retrospect he wasn't the most obvious choice (Jacob seems like the best), but he still came through.

You don't even need full loyalty though, to get full party survival jack and Zaeed weren't. also Zaeed does have dialogue you get to hear his war stories by clicking on him and the objects in his room repeatedly.

I sent Tali b/c I assumed that whoever you sent would make it and would be safer than the other members.
