As much as it pains me, I've decided not to replay to get Chakwas back. I can't be bothered to replay the game making the same decisions I made in the first playthrough. I shall carry her death with me to ME3. I hope we get to name something (a planet or bit of tech perhaps?) in ME3. I'd name it after her xD
Think there will be a new crew in ME3?

I considered it. But my feeling was that Grunt wouldn't be happier playing babysitter to a bunch of humans. He wanted to fight the enemy. Jacob would care more about the humans than himself.

It was a hard lesson for your first playthrough. Just remember that your second will not have that problem.
Actually if you import your Shep from a Finished ME2 save it will create a whole new Career for hm

It's possible that the crew (if they survive) could be rotated out. Due to Normal Tours of duty etc. Although I'll miss Gabby and Ken, they were hilarious... "Stop toying with me, Woman!"

you know. you can just go to "Load" and select Restart Collector Station.
I lost the crew on my first playthrough. Took too long to get there. Was going to reload an old save, but game can only save 50 saves, so the point where I coulde save the crew was overwritten. Reloaded an older save and basically played the game a second time to save the crew.

How in the world does someone create 50 individual saves on 1 play through?
Also, I sent Mordin to escort the crew seeing as he is an Infiltration and Extraction expert as part of the Salarian STG.

Yeah I want to see Gabby and Ken return in ME3 (if they survived of course). Love all their bits of dialog and of course the option to play poker with them (would be fun if could continue to do that throughout the game). 1st playthrough my renegade just let them play, 2nd playthrough I decided to play with them and won some credits after taking paragon route of being fairly new to the game... Ken's line after that was hilarious, Gabby found it funny too
I liked all the new crew so just like Chakwas and Joker returned, I want them all to be back.
Though of course for any that died, it would be nice for some good replacements.
Edit: Does the 50 saves thing account for actual ones showing on screen or overwrites? (forgotten now if overwrites maintain the same number or not)

Full loyalty doesn't ensure everyone survives.
Legion, you will be missed v.v
How did you lose Legion? I used him as my tech guy crawling through the vents and he did a great job.
I assume giving him command of the other squad is a bad idea?

Which is precisely why he never left my side in that place.

Ahh cool. I knew I could trust my good man Garrus with that job.

ya know i'm kinda dissapointed with the whole some people may die at the end scenario. I'm a completionist, so by the time i went to the collectors base i had every character loyal and all ship upgrades. Who to use for what role was pretty easy, so i didn't loose a single squad made.
I'm actually kinda dissapointed because i'm only going to loose allies if i purposefully send them off to their death >.< I want to experience what it's like, but i'm not a homicidal maniac.
Just don't approach your game as completionist... maybe people will die, maybe not. However, you will have experienced the game as you want to as you will have reason to worry.
