Tali only works because she has Dr. Doom syndrome, ie you never see their face. I love her personality and she's a great Character and look forward to seeing her in the 3rd game. Why is everyone so interested anyway? See I know we're going to get posts "WHY DID YOU MAKE TALI SO UGLY!" and "YOU RUINED THE TALI ROMANCE BECAUSE SHE"S SO UGLY!" to which I reply "If you are worried about what she looks like, then you shouldn't have romanced her to begin with."
Cuddle scenes and Tali's face; Your Thoughts?

I think that's the best solution. At least give us a hint at what the Quarian look like so if Tali's face/body are eventually revealed, there will be less shock or backlash.Lady_Azjurai wrote...
Instead of Tali's face, why not a DLC with another Quarians face somewhere? That way we get an idea of how she might look from their PoV - without ruining our own ideas of how she looks.

in fact, Bioware only has to do is make the character's face attractive to keep most fans happy.

Not showing us her face was a bit of a mistake on BioWare's part. Really, what good reason could there be to not show it? All they have to do is make it human like and pretty, not that hard.
It adds to her mystique... the most attractive women don't show all.
Yah I want to see it, since she is the romance for my second guy, but it wouldn't bother me if it didn't.
EDIT: After reading some other posts I'd like to point out that in alot of fiction and mythology the woman who is "ugly" or hides her face often turn out to be very beautiful... of course you don't find this out until the hero decides he doesn't care about looks. There was a novel called 'Wings of Dawn' where a woman wears face wrappings because she was horribly burned in a fire... the hero falls in love with her 'knowing' she is ugly, after the fact he discovers its just a disguise hiding a gorgeous woman. Some versions of the myth of Sir Gwain have him marrying a hag, who after the fact, reveals he true face when he tells her he wants her to appear however she wants to be (Passing a test). Tali said she had never hoped Sheperd would see past the mask. I would assume she is very beautiful. Sheperd would have never known this if he hadn't reached the point where he didn't care.

You don't even have to show her face for that..... you mind can fill in the blanks if you see another quarian and she can remain masked

They could even have based it on Liz Sroka's real face and that'd have been plenty good enough. They need to give her glowing eyes though.
Ooooo I completely agree! The glowing eyes would be perfect.
If they ever do decide to show Tali's face then it just has to be modeled on Liz Sroka.

If they show her face in ME3, then that's awesome, if they at least show another quarian face, then that will allow people to further and more accurately guess what Tali's face looks like. If they don't, then I'm not angry or upset by any of it, as long as she's in ME3 and she continues to be romancable, I'll be cool with it.

Same reason why they don't show us female turians: every time they show something new, it requires a new character model to be designed. We're lucky we even got male quarians this time around. Kind of sad that we'll never see female krogan or salarians (and were pretty much assured as much on the former in ME2). Funny that the social organization of alien cultures in the Mass Effect universe owes so much to development time and budgets.
 I both understand and completely agree with you. I do know development houses could take a lot more time then they already take to make a great game...the amount of polish one wants to put into a game could delay it 10 years instead of just the mere 2-3 years we have to wait for a good game. When everything gets down to the wire a studio is more focused on getting what needs to be in the game and what could potentially break the game. So that's why I'm hoping they will hear our wants and desire and put that into ME3. They already have these character models to use as a base...and really making a "naked" Tali wouldn't so much require a completely new model, more so tweaking to the one they already have and creating new textures. But you do bring up some good points!

To be honest, I don't have this curiosity over what Tali looks like. She's an awesome chick and with an awesome personality, crazy sexy accent and will die for my Shepard. I'm content that she and Shepard are content being together, with Shepard being the lucky dog to have actually seen her face.

Yeah, I think Bioware could only get away with it if they do one of three things:
1) Design a face for Tali that is so unbelievably perfect that it satisfies all her fans (unlikely).
2) Model her face on Liz Sroka, who is cute and would at least provide a precedent.
3) Show another Quarian's face so we know what their general physiology looks like, but don't show Tali's face.

I doubt we'll ever see it. At this point Bioware can not win. There's no way they'd get away with showing her face, because anything they come up with will be ripped to shreds. Too many people have too many seperate ideals of how Tali should look.
I guess I don't have those kinds of expectations. If they can come up with the Asari I don't think I would be disapointed with their choice when it comes to Tali. I guess I just wanted that emotional pay off and got a tad bit miffed when I didn't get it.
I think it's an opportunity for them to do a BIG reveal. If things progress into ME3 the way I think (war against the Reapers, gathering allies among the sapient races, quarian and geth fighting together, war changes people's views, yadda yadda yadda), they could have the post-end mission be the Quarians returning to their homeworld with the geth assisting them in reacclimating (or recovered Reaper tech eliminating the need for reacclimation) and Tali finally able to bask in the sun, sans suit. So it goes from being a simple face reveal to a full body one.
I dunno, it just feels like they're building anticipation to me.

I think they should pull a south park kenny moment. Like WIth the Jeffersons episode, where you see Kenny, but it isn't known to be kenny till after he's dead. They should just have a Quarian, being shown for a brief second, and then later you find out it was Tali.
But I get what you're saying man. I wasn't too disapointed not seeing Tali, means she still has some mystery about her, not seeing her face and all. So I can be optimistic Bioware will do the fans of Tali a solid, well the fans that wish to see her, a solid and let us see her face. If anything, I kinda wish they had it to where you can't be with Tali in an intimate way till the third game, that way it all builds up then as a reward for remaining faithful to her, they let you see Tali fullly. But I'm fine with how they went with it in ME2. Here's to hoping if you have to choose between your ME1 LI and your new LI Tali (for those that picked her) in ME2, and say you pick Tali, your reward is seeing her face at the very least.

Won't matter to me what face she has - Bioware knows what she looks like and that's what we'll see.
I'm in that boat. I'm more content to allow BioWare to show me what they think her face looks like, just like I was content with BioWare to depict Tali as a character.

And the other issue is with custom Shepards. It happens. If it bugs you, play with the default Shepaloo.
But it's not with the custom Shepard, it's with the love interests model. His fingers are going into her arm and we don't change his arm length.
It's not particularly with the model either. Most of these bodily animation stuff is done with mocap, a lot cheaper and productive than letting animators do all these motions - moving every node, frame by frame. The animators have their hands full with letting dog-mechs run, letting grunt talk, the collector\\s fly etc.
bodily mocap doesn't [usually] include fingers, plus the mocap actors do not share the same proportions as the 3D model, let alone one that has 'inverse legs' and wears an enviro-suit. I can't really blame them. Keyframing a hand like that on a mocap animation is hell.

Do remember, my point here isn't really the need to see her face JUST for an aesthetics point of view. Its the point that if we are going to remain in the belief that we are Commander Shepard, then you can't change the camera on us (the player) just because you want to keep something a "mystery." If it needs to be a mystery to us, then it should be a mystery to Shepard. Because in a game like this it should be thought of as one and the same. If that had been the case, if (for some odd reason) Shepard couldn't see her face, I would have been fine with that. I'd still be curious mind you, but I would have been fine. Its the fact that in that one moment they decided to take us away from being Shepard.

If my shepard sees it, I SHOULD SEE IT, as I AM MY SHEPARD.
Truely frustrating. I still love tali, but I'm just dying to see her face
Shes such a great character, and I was expecting an amazing moment where she removes her mask and looks at you with nervous eyes (no one has seen her face she says) and waits for some kind of reaction from you.
If they are saving it for ME3 then cool, I have no problem waiting. But if this is the case she shouldnt have removed her mask at all, like I said, if my shepard sees it, I should see it.
