That might have been a good spot too, but only if she got some dialogue before succumbing to her wounds.

Also, for the record, I'm pretty sure that is one of Harbringer's "fireball" things, not a rocket.

My opinion: We, the players, have been patient. It's a fallacy to say that revealing her face would destroy the mystery. So what? The saga is ending, it's time to tie up loose ends. I find it unfair that Bioware would build the mystery up for two games (five years) and conveniently leave it out come the FINAL game.
Now some people would say, "Well, new players, y'know." Look, if it was as big a deal to them as it clearly is to you, then obviously they will try not to spoil themselves as they're playing through.
I can understand people's points about having their own idea of what Tali looks like. I understand it, but I don't see it as a reason to keep Tali's face out of the next game. I'm personally tired of speculating, I want to see what Bioware says (because, ultimately, their version is the correct one).
Eventually, Darth Vader had to take his mask off...

<_< These are the only two gripes I have with Mass Effect 2 so I would love to hear everyone's thoughts!

  • Tali and not seeing her face:
I have read both complaints on not seeing her face and people voicing not wanting to see her face.  I guess in my opinion this really kills the whole idea of being able to be in a relationship with her.  Throughout the entire game we are made to feel like we're Shepard.  The choices we make, the things we choose to say or do, the entire game is setup to make us feel like we are this character.  Clearly there are moments for each of us where we felt an emotional investment into this game.  The culmination for me was right when Shepard was going to take Tali's mask off so we could finally see him and Tali truly embrace.  So you can imagine my disappointment when the camera cuts away to just show Shepard's reaction (which didn't really even have a reaction).  This was the only moment in the entire game where I felt like I was back to being the player instead of the character.  And that is my entire point why you just can't do that in a game like this.  It's fine in say the game Halo, because Master Chief is his own character and you are just controlling him.  So whether we see his face or not isn't a character driven thing, it's whether the writer wants to share that with us or not.  But in Mass Effect 2 where we are made to be the character, see what he/she sees, choose what he/she says, pick what he/she does, pulling away at an emotional moment doesn't just make no sense, it screws with the players expectations of the game you built.  So in my view, if we don't get the chance to experience everything with Tali as the character experiences it, then she shouldn't be an option to begin with.  So I do truly hope this gets corrected in DLC or ME3!  Thinking about it this way from a character perspective, what do you guys think?

I personally do think BW will reveal Tali's face in ME3...I would be very surprised if they don't, since they have been relly pushing the mystery over two games.

As for Shep's expression when he takes Tali's mask off, there is in fact a reaction on his face....maybe it depends on how that reaction manages to animate on the face your Shep has, I have a custom and it worked quite well on his face, an unmistakable softening of his features and a soft, gentle smile....it was very sweet actually.
