I am trying to play a second playthrough of mass effect 2. When I
select import me2 character, everything starts fine, and I make it to
the lazerous program, and then the game freezes when there is a skull
on the screen (it says loading, but I've let it sit there for 10
minutes with no change). I believe it's freezing right before the part
where you customize the character. I'm playing on an xbox 360 and am
playing off the hard drive (the game is installed). I am unable to
playthrough a second time while importing my character with this bug!
2nd playthrough freezes when importing ME2 character.

For me, I press the xbox guide button when the cinematic starts (showing the charred skin/vein stuff) and wait for a few seconds. This seems to fix my issue at least.

don't know if its accurate or helps, but This may be the HDD causing the issue, I just went through the intro flick enough times to wish it was me that died. I ended up erasing the game from my hard drive and then running it again and the game worked fine. I suppose you can delete it from the HD get your guy back up and running and after you save in this new game go ahead and reinstall onto your hard drive if you wish

The solutions here are a bit weak since the solution that never failed will be revealed right now.
Go to your system settings --> Memory --> Highlight your HDD --> Press Y --> Clear Cache --> play the game.
