Tells me I have to be connected to play with the DLC.Is that a bug? Can
only get dial up where I live so I can't stay permanently connected.
I get single player games to play when I can't get online. Is my only
choice to throw away the game I already started with my ME 1 saves and
start a new game not using DLC ?
When I go to play I get a message Error- Cerberus network activation
reduires an active internet connection. At the play screen I get the
message " Unable to authorize the listed DLC. Please log into Cerberus
Network with the account used to purchase the DLC". That suggests to me
I have to have to be connected to play
This is the ME2 retail version and it worked fine when I was connected.

On an unrelated note, where the heck is the search function for the forum?

No, you need to connect to authorize the DLC, once that's done for any new DLC, you can play offline.

As well as the 'autologon' you probably want to disable the 'phone home' option too.

No, it doesn't work offline for me and I have been bugging this forum for a fix but nothing.

I would assume the DLC was authorized the first time I played. Are you saying I need to connect to authorize it each and every time I want to play but can then disconnect to play? That would defeat the purpose of having an offline game. There are times when I simply cannot connect. That's why I buy single player games. I disabled both auto login and uplaod crap right away but it made no difference.

For those of you who have no problems, could you try restarting your PC, disable your internet connection and then start ME2 and see if you have the same problem.Just wondering if the game is storing the last authorization but loses it after you restart or shut your pc down.

Lots of people are having this same problem. Yes, it seems that if you have the DLC installed, it has to authorize EVERY TIME YOU START THE GAME.

I don't know if this is a bug, or just DRM gone awry, but it's very annoying, and I keep hoping it'll get addressed. As for a way around it, there is one method that someone else mentioned that I've tried, and it does seem to work.

Start the game with your internet connected, but auto-login turned off. Even though it doesn't automatically log you into cerberus, it will still do the online check to validate your DLC.

Load your save game.

Once you're in the game, alt-tab out, and sever your internet connection. Once you're offline, save your game.

You should now be able to use that save-game without connecting first to the internet.

Be warned: While this does seem to work (for me at least) it's a little spotty, and it may suddenly revert to needing an internet connection without warning.
