I am a guy playing as a fem femshep because it was the only me1 save game I had. I think playing as a male is more immersive being a guy and all.

The short answer is that you can't: the game won't let you. As far as I'm concerned my femshep likes women so that she wouldn't. On the other hand, as a straight male gamer, I think it would be interesting to have a playthrough with a male/male romance. For me it would mean more re-playability although "my" Main shep has been and will remain Femshep from ME1.

I have a renegade vanguard femshep who was my first playthrough. Even though this is a role playing game, when I play the opposite gender I pretty much look at is if it was a movie. I'm not playing her, I'm watching her. So in that regard it's just another love story so who cares.

Not sure how to answer that. I played as Femshep and romanced Thane. I had no issues with it just FemSHep romancing Thane.
