The bug is persistent regardless of computer/DAO uptime. I have explored that, to no avail...

I am getting desperate. I am just short of uninstall/reinstall to try to correct the issue, before abandoning this playthrough & starting all over. Could anyone help?

Wow, I I had taken time off DAO to beat the BG series again (I got Demogorgon too), came back, found this post, finished my campaign, & now am into awakenings.

Thanks all.

Just re-do the fight and kill the monsters by the east side at the bridge first

This bug is still in game. None of the posted "fixes" here work. Killing bridge first: no effect. Standing near Riordan entire time: no effect. Reload (via quick save, named save, plus full exit before reload): no effect. Repeat city gate fight (done it about 8 or 9 times now): no effect. I even ran around laying down SoCs to cover the entire area and kill off potentially invisible enemies. No effect.

Runscript zz_cli_debug permits jumping past the Riordan dialogue, but if you do that, you skip building your party, which means you're solo from then on.

Seems like there really is absolutely no solid fix or workaround for this bug other than to keep on repeating the gate fight and hope you don't get bugged this time around.
