I just installed Dragon Age Origins and linked it to email account, can i still download the character creator and upload my creation to my account to get the ring?
Also do i have to make a new character every time with the creator and upload to have the ring?
Well i made a character but when i try and upload it times out.

I've just read some of the threads and did not know anything about this ring. I'm playing on 360 and do not see my current character (4th) on my profile. How do i upload it to get this ring, i'm too far ahead in the game to re-start now.

What I did was make a character with the CC, save it. Failed when trying to upload it. Had to force closing of the CC. Tried again, chose "modify/delete character", opened my toon and tried uploading again. Worked just fine.
Started the game, clicked "Downloadable content" and when I got the DLC screen the downloading of the ring was already taking place.

But what about the 360 version. I never saw any rings in my items in-game or in my download stuff. What is this ring called in the game ? How do i upload my 4th character to my account.

Well, I guess you need a PC with an internet connection to get this, as I would surmise that the Character Creator is a PC application only.



Note: You can't make a character with the creation system in the game, you need this extra application. Go to the front page of the DA web to download it.



Once you've created and uploaded a character using the CC application, you should be able to launch your game on the console you're using and downloading of the ring should start.

The item you get is called The Lucky Stone, and after I downloaded it I get it at the start with every character I've created.

In my experience - yes.

The DLC items (blood armor and lucky stone ring) should as I understand it be available to all characters, whether you create them before or after the DLC has been installed and verified.

Not sure why this is so complicated? I believe I have done everything and have yet to see a GD ring lol

When you launch the game on whatever platform you have, it will appear as Downloadable Content in the game menu.

Hi. Could someone please tell me if the character creator is required for the lucky stone? I mean, do you still get the ring if you upload a character created in the game itself, and not the character creator?

Well, I can't get the ring, because I've reached the max number of characters! (10) ...but I'm not allowed to delete any of them!

So, if you want the ring, don't make a new characters (before getting the cc) just to check them out or something, because you can only have 10 uploaded!



...or is there another way to get this ring?

I've only uploaded 2 characters (from main game, not cc) and it tells me i've reached my cap when i try to upload from cc. cant seem to delete anything from my profile either.

Yet another issue about the ring..

I DL'd the CC,
generated a character
submitted it via the CC
Installed the game (PC)
Started the game
Logged into my account from the game
Checked DL Content - Nothing.
My Shale and Armor both worked but No Ring.

So.. What am I missing?


**UPDATE**
Yeah, after re-submitting, my ring popped up.

Can someone please confirm this? It seems a pointless restriction now that the game is for sale and BioWare gains nothing from people downloading a redundant piece of software.

Pointless or not, it does seem to be the case that you MUST upload a character from the CC to get the Lucky Stone ring.

Of course, the CC doesn't work properly on my system, so I couldn't really see who I was creating as it was almost all black vertexes, but it did at least prompt the download when I uploaded her to the server.

BioWare, make this a regular addition for purchasing the game rather than forcing people to DL and install yet one more piece of unnecessary software - espcially glitchy software.

I had a friend use his PC to Download it and make a person using my infor and he say he save it.  I wait like 2 days for it to upload to the site and NOTHING HAPPENING.  He did this 2 times & nothing.

Hi all! I'm new to the DAO-forums and my native language isn't English,

so please be patient with me.

So, my problem is that I downloaded the CC, installed it and made my 2nd character.

Then I tried to upload it, but all that appeared was the "account timed out" -message.

Problem kept recurring after several attempts. Few hours later I found out that my character was succesfully uploaded to my profile, but I didn't get the Lucky Stone. How can I get it now?

My other DLC's work just fine btw.

I, as well, have never received a ring. I have made a character on the character creation screen. Played with him, uploaded him ..searched downloadable content etc and have never received a ring. What basic thing am I missing here? lol

Well, after my previous post I run to whole new problem... I noticed that I can't import my CC -character to DAO, so I can't start new origin story with it. And still no Lucky Stone...

I have yet to get mine either and I have my original toon plus the CC one uploaded... I have all my other stuff just fine...

 To anyone wanting any of the DLC items for the pc version and having trouble with the character creator, I suggest you just go here and install the dazips

They should all be available (unless you are unauthorised to use them) once you download and install them using the daupdater in the bin_ship directory. The only two that didn't work for me were the guildmaster's belt and the band of fire I think which I hadn't paid for anyway.

Just so you all know, if the upload was successfull from the PC app and you are yet to see it appear on your 360 or PS3. Problem from what I can tell is you need to use the emial thats associated with your XBOX 360 gamertag or ps3 name for your social.bioware.com emial too.



They make it really confusing since you can have seperate emials for your console platform service,social.bioware.com and even have an EA account from another game.



so in short, associate your emial for social.bioware.com with your xbox 360 gamertag or your PS3 name, if there both linked and you then go into the PC app and login with your emial thats associated both with social.bioware.com and your gamertag then it should work.

Good morning all, I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for the character upload to appear in my profile? I Installed DA, then learned I needed the character creator in order to get the luck ring, so I installed that, made a character and hit upload, still dont see my character. I was just wondering if I did somthing out of order or not. Thanks for reading. Everyone have a good day,
