I was wondering what is the usefulness of the fancy vase and private documents. Was thinking that it plays a role at the end of the game but not. :unsure:Any idea some one?

Just generic objects. However, I had fun with them and sold all fancy vases and cups to one single trader, at the end of the game he had already a pritty cool collection.

In the past things like that were actually easter egg items of a sort.
Through the Baldur's Gate series(just bought them and plan on going through all of those once more:D), if you had the various sets of pantaloons you could eventually make yourself an iron golem suit (the big metal unit(have ALWAYS loved the name of that item!) to walk around and smash things in)
so I was kind of hoping for something like that...
edit: clarified post a bit

There are many items like this, and it's hard to tell which will be used in a quest and which is just money fodder. In the past, I would sell something and find out later that someone wanted those garnets that I sold and I'd have to go buy them back or find more.
For this reason, I greatly appreciate that personal chest you get in Warden's Keep.

Almost always quest items will be placed in your "Quest" tab so you know that you can sell things safely. Awakening behaves similar to the main game in this respect.

Yes, I know. That's why I'm keeping all these generic items.
