I never activated him...I was trying to role play. If my entire crew got abducted, I wouldn't risk activating something that I knew was a potential threat. Especially when I was about to go through the Omega-4 relay.

Well, there you go. I'm not being mean, but don't talk about something that you don't know about. No offense...

Guys I do have a question. What exactly happened to the Geth when I modified the virus cause I was tired when I played through that part and pretty much rushed it..

Consider that a big theme in the first game was bridging humanity and aliens.

I think a big theme in ME2 is bridging organics and synthetics (EDI, Legion.)

And my crew wasn't abducted until after I finished his loyalty mission. Curiousity alone was almost enough reason to activate him.

and then this god damn Geth comes along trying to be nice, the same type of Geth that condemned the quarians to their current fate.

You mean defending themselves after the quarians tried to genocide their entire race?

Yes.  They were given life by the quarians and they just go against them like this.

I did know, actually. I went and did it afterward. I was just trying to RP at the time. After all, it is a RPG. What I'm saying is...why put him in the game in a situation where it would be completely stupid to activate him before the game ended?

They rewrote the virus so that it will have an opposite effect, basically relinquishing the Reapers' controls over them, and basically cleaning the "evil" Geth so that they will listen to the real Geth. Basically becoming good again before being indoctrinated by the Reapers.

Really? My crew was abducted immediately after the first time I tried using the galaxy map after getting the reaper IFF. So I pretty much couldn't do anything else after the derelict reaper if I wanted my crew to live.

Legion saves your ass and makes it even possible for you to reach the core in the derelict Reaper.

Wow, you're so ignorant. The Geth are anything but evil. You're just so blinded by your Tali fanboyism you can't see that. Kind of sad really.

Uhh...I'm sorry. Did I just slip into an alternate dimention where the Geth weren't the primary villains of ME1? What's one more when you don't know any better?

Obviously you missed something big.

Legion explains that the Geth working for Saren and Sovergiegn are "heretics" infected by a virus from the reapers.

with Legions help you either kill all of the Heretics or destroy the virus and send the surviving heretics back to Geth space.

The Quarians became afraid of the Geth and tried to genocide the entire race, the geth won the war in self defense.

Legion will likely act as the branch to a Geth alliance against the reapers in ME3 ending in the Geth allowing or relinquishing controll of the Quarian homeworld to the flotilla.

The heretics joined the reapers of their own free will, they where creating the virus to force the true geth to think as they do , thus forcing them to side with the reapers as well. The virus wasnt created until after the geth split into two differnt fractions

Um, the Geth were curious about their lives. Is that a crime now? That's a reason for trying to destroy an entire race? You can get Legion to replay an old recording to when a Geth first asked its owner, "Creator so and so, does-this-unit-...have a soul?"

It's heartbreaking. Then the damn Quarian acts like an ass and tells it "no, you're only a mechanism". After that, the Quarian's got scared that the Geth would realize they're being used for labor and cheap slavery so they decided to attack first and destroy all the Geth.

Yep, that's all the Geth's fault. <_<

I love Tali, but I found Legion even better then her. Legion is actually pretty compelling and if your not an idiot and listen to what he has to say. And the Quarians have always been the bad guys here there is no two ways around it.

Just found I couldn't trust him at that time. I might have been still reeling from when i trusted the merc Asari and let her go. She fed me some good lines and come to find out she killed the Vol trader.

So I'll live with the consequences if him remaining deactivated.

I love the Quarians and I bioware will let me help them recliam their homeworld but through peaceful means not a war based on the wrongs the Quarians and the Geth did each other over 300 years ago.

It basicly reversed the virus instead of it making the true geth think like the heretics it made the heretics think like the true geth, basicly they where brainwashed

I activated Legion before going to the Galaxy map...I wonder if that made a difference.

It made no sense at all for all the toughest characters to leave on a shuttle AFTER Legion's loyalty mission, before I had given new nav coordinates, though. (Are we going to go back to the station we just hacked? It's between stars....one of the game's clunkier plot devices...)

He saved Shep back on the Derelict Reaper. If I were Shep, I'd reactivate him, and question him as to why he did it.

I mean, I owe him one, and reactivation is the least I could do.

Maybe I did misread it.  Regardless it was a small portion that followed the Reapers to indoctrination and became 'no longer Geth'

but hey if you guys dont want a massive fleet of synthetic warriors to fight the eternal machine army of galactic genocide, dont mind me.

geth r kewl

based on what happened, him defending you, him having the N7 armor, it doesn't make sense NOT to take him. If it was any other geth, even one that wasn't a "heretic," I probably would have killed it. Everything was too odd not to activate him.

I actually wanted a peaceful ending with the geth and quarians. It gives tali's people to get back their planet with the geth which I have a feeling in the next game will be a huge story arc if you do it right or they will go to war and legion doesn't die if you keep him with the crew. You tali as your engineer and she would have been just fine. Though you probably didn't upgrade your suit shields all the way. When you do that it keeps most engineers alive. holla holla.
